Magnezone

Hey, I was wondering, since I don't have a Magnezone yet (I'm planning on it however!), what is you guys' suggestion about its moveset?

It's got High SpAtk, so you could put on some great damage with this Pokemon.

Here are some move sets that mite interest you:

Ability: MagnetPull
Thunderbolt/Thunder
Thunderwave
HiddenPower: Ice, Water, or Grass, Fire
MagnetRise/ MetalSound/ Raindance

If you go with Thunder, use Raindance and HiddenPower Water.

If go with Thunderbolt instead, then use HiddenPower Ice for Ground, Grass, and Dragon types.
Or you could go with HiddenPower Fire as a trap for other Metal type Pokemon.

HiddenPower Grass is good too, but only for Ground, Rock, and Water types.

Ok.......well, I should've clarified some more, I have a Mangezone with an Impish nature, and the Sturdy ability. What's good for that?

ut oh... Impish nature is bad honestly ( - Sp. ATK + DEF)


Zaraze hit good EV's on the dot, and any of the above movesets will work well. But an Impish nature is just not good. You could at least breed a Quiet Magnemite if you can't get a Modest one.

If you want Max Def, you should go with a Bold Nature.

Just like Pumped Aaron said, Impish will lower your SpAtk, and Magnazone's SpAtk is one of it's best stats.

You don't want to hender it's SpAtk.

Assuming you want something that can abuse a MONSTER Special Attack stat then I suggest you get a Special Attack raising nature.

252 Evs Hp, along with Leftovers will give Magnezone a decent recovery option (Due to it's lack of good recovery moves) and with immunity to Posion AND Sandstorms, not much will negate the boost. Max Sp.Atk is your MOST important priority and HAS to been done in order to get a decent Magnezone. Magnet Pull is better than Sturdy, since OHKO moves are banned in competetive play, and Magnet Pull can trap Skarmory in battles aswell as other Steel types. Thunderbolt is used due to STAB, and been a very good attacking move. Thunderwave is useful due to Magnezone's lack of speed and the fact it can give Leftovers time to heal some more Hp. Substitute can be used (Assuming you have maxed Hp Evs) to create a decent stall and will give Magnezone time to attack. Hidden Power Ice deals with Dragons, Ground types & Grass types whom all resist Electric attacks. Other options you could consider:
Flash Cannon - it's got good accuracy and very good Base Power aswell as STAB, it puts a dint in Rock-Types and Ice-Types should as the devilish Weavile.
Mirror Coat - It isn't the best move but it can be lethal. With maxed Hp and no Sp.Def Evs, Magnezone can make decent use of Mirror Coat. Most counters will be throwing Earthquake at you, granted but if you encounter a Special Sweeper this could come in handy.
Explosion - If worst comes to the worst, nothing is more fun than blowing yourself up and taking out your foe with you. Magnezone, although it doesn't have amazing Atk power, it still works thanks to Explosion having insane base power. Best used with Trick Room support.

But with a Modest nature, it will not KO Blissy with one hit using Explosion.

But Magnezone is a weak exploder to beging with anyway, its best as a Special attacker.
