After much debate everyone seems to agree the title for this episode is--
"Are you there God? It's me, Sam Winchester".

Yes, an inverse of the Dean episode from last year, apparently.

This is also the episode the Trickster is supposed to return (according to sources).

The Trickster (Richard Speight Jr.) returns. He “zaps the boys into a world of different TV programs. One’s about sexy nurses and doctors, like ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ another one is an overly grim, quippy procedural show that’s suspiciously like ‘CSI.’ They’re also in a sitcom in which ‘Supernatural’ is filmed before a live studio audience.”

Oh, this one is definately going to be taped. I love the Trickster, and the premise sounds really fun. Basically becuase I also love CSI, and used to watch Grey's Anatomy. (This is before it moved to Thursday nights, and I tossed it aside for better written programs.)

It is going to be amazing, I think. And the premise does sound very cool (I can't wait to the "live studio audience"!).

Ha! Nice one, Shane!

I also can't wait to see the studio audience.

And about tossing it aside for better written programs, when they moved to Thursday nights, that's when they started banging each other more than saving lives. I swear I saw 2 doctors doing it during surgery!

Apperently, as of right now, the title's going to be "Changing channels", which seems a little dull to me, but also more logical than "Are you there God? It's me, Sam Winchester."

Hnn... But maybe they'll still change it. (No pun intended)

"Changing channels", huh? Yeah, that does sound pretty dull and generic to me.

What is it with Kripke changing all his titles lately? We went through this with all but the opener this season, it seems. *is puzzled*

Maybe he got bitched at for all the blasphemous or swear-wordy suggestions. That would explain why he's playing it safe for the time being.

But you know what? Ever since the latest VanCon, I've been thinking that the crew probably have their own names for many of the episodes, depending on what happened on the episode or what the working title was... Like, remember how Jared and Jensen kept getting confused about "When the Levee Breaks" and then kept saiyng "Detox"? That's probably what they're used to calling it because it's shorter and also maybe the Zeppelin reference title idea hadn't been brought up when they were shooting the episode.

Hmmm, possible. I know that one title of his got axed because it was too...well, just too.

Oh I like that idea. Yeah, I remember back in the first 2 Seasons they seemed to refer to episodes by their numbers but lately it's been by titles and usually different ones at that.

Very possible.

Oh and it has now been confirmed that "Changing Channels" is the new title.

Here's the official plot synopsis, as you can find it on the Chicago Tribune Blog "The Watcher":

“Changing Channels,” airs Nov. 5: "When Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) find themselves living their lives on what appear to be TV shows, it makes for a whole new style of reality television and they wonder if the Trickster (guest star Richard Speight, Jr.) is to blame. From a sitcom to a soapy hospital drama to a Japanese game show to a crime procedural, each new experience they encounter is more bizarre than the next and they want out. But is the Trickster really the mastermind behind the madness? Also starring Misha Collins as ‘Castiel.’ 'Changing Channels' was written by Jeremy Carver and directed by Charles Beeson."

Here's a link to the Watcher. It also includes pictures, previews, and infos for this episode, the last one, and all others to come before the Christmas hiatus, btw.

So I have a new thing to post about this episode:
Is this week’s ‘Supernatural’ as funny as it looks? After all your Twitter and Facebook teases, I am dying over here. – Michelle
I’m a tough critic when it comes to funny, and I LOL’d lots while watching “Changing Channels,” in which the Trickster plops Sam and Dean inside various TV shows. (The episode’s opening credits alone will have both schlemiels and schlimazels howling.) All that’s up for debate is which segment the fans will find most hysterical. I myself was giving the edge to the riff on ‘Grey’s’ - which is replete with way too many people saying “Seriously?” - but then the ‘CSI’ spoof hit my screen and all bets were off. It must also be noted, however, that toward the hour’s end things turn grave when the Trickster drops two bombshells on the bros.

Bolding is mine. That last bit? Has me biting my fingernails already!
