Changing images through glamour came as easy to Rux as breathing come to mundanes. Rux changed her images as often as the wind changed its direction; it was how she liked it and how she lived her life. Having the ability to change made what she did so much easier, never the same girl twice.

Today a blonde sounded good to Rux, but try as she might it hadn’t worked. And trying was usually something she didn’t have to do to glamour. It hadn’t taken her long to figure out that that arrogant, self righteous pig Talon had done something. So he wasn’t a mundane as she’d assumed.

Searching back through the bag she’d carried the night before she pulled out the wallet she’d taken from him and opened it up to find it empty other then a slip of paper. His note was hardly a love letter, more of a mockery of her ‘Trick me once, shame on me. Trick me twice, trick’s on you.’

So, they had met before and he certainly wasn’t a Mundane, the lying ass was a warlock and he’d taken her powers. He was a liar, a thief and the most arrogant, annoying person she’d ever tricked; now she had to find him again. Rux knew she had to find this warlock with a sick sense of humor or be stuck as a mundane for the rest of her existence, however long that may be. Reluctantly she dressed and headed out to search the city for the thief.

Thomas was the name he had used the night before though she doubted that was his name. as much as she tried she couldn’t remember the name he’d used in their first meeting, the chances were that was his real name just out of reach of her memory.

It was going to be like looking for a needle in a haystack. If the needle told lies and stole and the haystack was New York City.

If she thought about it all the guy had done was play her at her own game, but Rux was in no state of mind to be thinking fairly or otherwise.

Heading out in to the city Rux headed for the bar they had reconnected at the night before, it was almost empty been so early in the day. The bar man was the same as the night before and after a short talk with him which involved convincing him she was the red head from the night before Rux left with directions to another bar the ass frequented clear across town.

Seemed to Rux that whoever this guy actually was he life the Mundane side of the city. Flagging a cab she made her way across town her anger growing by the minute just like the fare on the meter.

Slipping the driver the fare Rux headed into the bar pulling up the hood of her jacket to hide her natural look. Unlike what the girls health magazines said, Rux was not comfortable with the natural hair. Her skin was too pale, her brown hair too plain and her curls too unmanageable; too horrible to suffer everyday. Glamour was like an addiction to Rux, and an addiction she embraced freely.

She spotted him easily. Perched on a stool by the bar a drink in his hand and his back to her as she approached her anger steaming through her veins. Rux pushed back her hood as she reached him wanting him to see all the anger in her face no matter how plain she thought herself.

“You need to give it back, now.” She said in a harsh, sharp whisper. “What you took I need, now.” She spat he fist clenched and her shoulders tensed and frozen.

Talon was sitting at the bar drink in hand. He was expecting the woman from last night to appear. He wasn’t certain it would be today, but he knew she’d come looking for him. Truth was, he was out in the open, at another bar nearby purely for that reason, so that she would be able to find him. Had he truly wanted to punish her and make it stick, he could have easily disappeared. None of the mundanes who had seen him that night would have been able to identify him or point her in a proper direction. They knew only what he wanted them to.

With the woman from the bar, yes he wanted to pay her back for tricking him, but her actions had not been severe enough to deserve more than an attention grabbing, and a warning not to ever cross him again. Not all warlocks were capable of the kind of spell that he was, removing her powers completely. He smiled as he sipped his drink thinking about it. She brought it on completely by herself. He had set the spell so it would only be activated once she took his wallet. Had she decided not to attempt her trick on him the second time, she would have been spared his punishment. Now she had paid the price, and as he knew he would have if the situation was reversed, he knew to expect her.

He turned his head to the side as he heard her approach, smirking as he saw what she looked like behind the glamour. It was a surprise to him that she really didn’t need it afterall, she was just as alluring he thought without it as she was with it. Unless it was purely so she could go unrecognized. But did the woman really think he wouldn’t see the glow of the glamour and know it was there?

Talon shook his head calmly. “I remember seeing a redhead the other night” He told her. “And I do believe it was her who took something from me”

Rux was thankful that the dickhead was where the idiot mundane had said he would be, it was almost too easy. Rux hoped he was idiotic enough to not think to hide; he was obviously stupid enough take her powers. The sight of him infuriated her so much she almost skipped over how handsome he was, but she was never one to miss something so handsome and sexual.

It was obvious now that he was the mark she’d tricked before and she cursed herself for not having a better memory for faces, or for been able to tell a warlock from a mundie. Whatever he was he was a thief, at least she took things people didn’t miss; things that weren’t a way of life.

Looking at him from the distance as she crossed the bar, Rux was at a loss to how she didn’t remember his him. His eyes, his hair, his body; or what she’d felt of it the night before, all added up to make him very memorable.

Wiping the smirk of his face was her instinctual reaction as soon as he turned and Rux had to clench her fists to stop herself hitting out at him. A broken jaw or bruised eye might make him a little less willing to cooperate with her.

Up close his eyes were even more amazing, even with the arrogance she could swear was shining behind them. He was at ease, comfortable almost both of which Rux wanted to change on sight.

“Cut the crap, Thomas, or whoever you are. You know what you did and who I am.” She snapped at him closing the gap between them and leaning into his face. “The wallet was empty apart from this note.” She said flicking it onto the bar along with his empty wallet she brought with her. “Give me back what you took and we’re even.”

Without leaving his space Rux shrugged, “How did you even do it? I’ve never heard of anyone doing something like this.” She said not impressed, more pissed off. “Do the Clave know your so all powerful?” She said mocking his power, but with a serious note on the clave.

“Yes Ruby Red, or Rachel, I do know who you are. Maybe you’d like to tell me your real name” Talon suggested then grinned. “You show me yours I’ll show you mine” He said knowing he’d tell her his name once knowing her real one. He really didn’t enjoy being called another name. He was quite proud of his own. It held a good reputation in some circles.

He shook his head as she complained about the wallet being empty other than the note. “It’s not my fault if when you stole from me the second time you didn’t get what you were looking for. You still got something though for your efforts, even if its not what you wanted”

Talon let out an amused chuckle as she mentioned them being even if he gave her back her powers. “No, that wouldn’t make us even. Even was me teaching you a lesson after trying this on me not once but twice.” He leaned in close and whispered the next part not wanting the rest of the bar to hear. His tone was harsh, and devoid of its previous humor. “I’m no mundie and it’s an insult to be treated like one” he then backed away the smirk reappearing. “But I guess now you know how it feels”

“Now if I told you how I did it that would make it less special…but don’t worry, even before I took anything you wouldn’t have been able to do something like this, not with those parlor tricks” Talon said dismissively. He knew there were a few warlocks capable of it, and they were ones he would not want to cross. His eyes narrowed as she mentioned the Clave. “They know enough”

If it was a question then the answer was no, Rux wouldn’t like to tell him her name. Telling her real name was something she never did she always used an alias. In fact it had been so long since she’d been with anyone who knew her real name she’d almost forgotten what it was like to hear it spoken and something in her wanted to hear this guy say it. His looks were as tricking as his powers, it seemed. “My name is Ruxandra. That’s my real name.” There was no real anger or smugness in her voice, she merely stated a fact blankly. Hearing herself say her own name, it felt alien to her; a different lifetime that was for sure.

Rux’s eyes narrowed as he shook his head at her and blamed her loss of powers on her thieving. He clearly didn’t understand, it was something she had to do. Perhaps it was her fault she was stupid enough to steal form the same person twice without realizing he was a warlock. “I got nothing for my efforts, if anything I lost something and that is your fault.” She said snidely, “Spending an even with you I at least deserved some money in the wallet.” She smirked. It hadn’t been an un-enjoyable evening, but now Rux was sure it had all been an act on both their parts.

Anger burned as he laughed at her, how he dare laugh at her and then invade her space by leaning close to her. His tone may have been harsh as he spoke almost into her ear, but Rux felt a tingle of excitement and enjoyment travel up her spine as his breath brushed her cheek. As he pulled back Rux clenched her fists again as the tingle of a minor desire receded. “I’m no mundie, just a witch whose powers were stolen by some two bit thief that steals from his own kind. At least I only took money, I would never taken someone very life essence, almost.” She spat the words at him. “What you took from me if far worst then what I ever took from you!” She said not admitting that she needed her powers for fear of seeming weak.

“Parlor tricks. How dare you judge me when you don’t even know me or what I’m capable of. Arrogant pig.” She said filling her words with as much venom as possible. “Just give me back what you took and I’ll leave because I don’t want to waste anymore time around you, I’ve already wasted enough.”

Rux stomped forward invading his space she wanted to seize his glass from him and toss the liquid in his face, instead she slap her fist on to the bar. “I’d like to tell everyone here what you are and send them running for the hills, I’m sure your business relies on discretion. Wouldn’t be too good if they knew what you were, would it?” She threatened emptily knowing that if she told then the Clave would be after her. “Give me what is mine so we can both act as if we never met, either times.”

Talon gave a nod respectfully as she told him her name. “Ruxandra, much nicer name than your aliases” He said appreciating her honesty and getting the feeling from her that this was the truth of her real name. It was a step in the right direction not trying to trick him again, and something he appreciated. “My name is Talon, something I believe I told you the first time” he said, without any resentment at her forgetting but revealing to her that he didn’t usually hide behind any other façade.

“You got what you deserved for stealing from someone like me. Your efforts gave you something, but not all gifts are good. You wouldn’t have lost anything if you hadn’t gone through with the act again, it was by your own free will that it happened” Talon told her, not concerned in the least with how upset she was getting. “I did buy you a drink, you got that for your efforts. You wanted money you could have asked “

Talon smirked again shaking his head as she had the audacity to call him a two bit thief stealing from his own kind. “You should talk, not once but twice you had the nerve to try that, you needed something to get your attention, show you to be more careful about your marks” Talon told her, nodding as she said that what he took was worse. He did know that was true. It was a harsh punishment but it was temporary. “Yet I’m here for you to find, waiting in a mundie bar…almost as if I wanted you to track me down, or at leats to give you the option so that it wouldn’t be a permanent arrangement. I’m not a cruel a man, but you made the mistake of crossing me one two many times”

“You didn’t know what I was, your capabilities cannot be that strong or impressive if this is how you make your living” Talon told her matter of factly. His attitude was a stark contract to her seething rage. He heard her say that she wanted them back and would just leave. “Sit, have a drink. Calm yourself and then we’ll talk about returning them. I’d be a fool to let you have them now with this rage, you’d only retaliate, making us once again not even”

Talon turned his entire body towards her as she slapped her hand down against the bar. He gritted his teeth as he heard her threats, not taking kindly to them at all. “You tell anyone, I’ll report you to the Clave, not my favorite people but they’d be only too happy to assist me in dealing with someone who insists on outing downworlders.”

Talon, Rux rolled the name around in her head as he spoke. It was a very unique name and she instantly thought it suited him better then the mundie name Thomas. Casting her mind back Rux could remember him telling her it the first time she met him, but unfortunately all marks tended to blend. She had a feeling last night would stand out. “Thank you, its Romanian.” She said with a polite smile.

He was preaching at her while he built himself up. Rux was really getting sick of his self righteous behavior. “Someone like you? I’m a downworlder just like you.” She said in a harsh whisper. “I didn’t…All my gifts are good.” She said faltering a little as she almost admitted she hadn’t intended to steal.

“As you for money? What are you, a loan shark?” She said with a half huff of disbelief, as if she would lower herself to ask him for money. “As for the drink, I normally get dinner to and the occasion extra.” She smirked arching her eye brow seductively towards him.

“Something to get my attention? You stole something that is as much a part of me as my name or thoughts.” She snapped at him as he preached at her, “I should have remembered you, if you were this arrogant on our first meet I sure would have.” She told him honestly feeling as if a part of her had been taken. It wasn’t just the glamour but the feeling of the power, the magic, that coursed through her veins it was now missing.

As he said about sitting in a mundie bar she realized he was practically waiting for her. “So maybe I made more of an impression then you’re letting on?” She winked at him “Well then I want the option to undo this.” She told him honestly.

“My abilities are both strong and impressive and are not limited to my powers.” She snapped at him, “But I do want them back. I can’t stay like this.” She said gesturing to herself and how she looked; plain and boring.

Rux ignored his clave comment and found herself wanting to sit and talk about better things then trying to get one up on each other or threatening each other. The idea of sitting and talking was appealing and Rux found herself sitting on the stool next to him before she had a chance to process it. He was right, if she got her powers back now she was likely to do something very rash, no doubt something he could counter. “Talon, where is that from? Certainly not a New York name.” She asked wondering as she said it why she felt the need to engage in pointless conversation and knowing it was a desire; a desire she wouldn’t admit too.

For once as Rux asked that question she had no ulterior motive, no tricks up her sleeve nothing but talk.

Talon smiled back with a nod as she told him the origin of her name. Romanian. He wondered if that was where she was from, or just her mother, or just perhaps whoever raised her. It was always hard to determine things about childhoods of warlocks. Hell, it was even hard to determine how long ago most of their kind were children, as they could stop aging at any point.

“Yes, you are like me, a common courtesy you didn’t seem to think of when choosing me as your target” Talon told her. He cocked his head to the side slightly as she told him that all of her gifts were good. A small smirk appeared on his lips. “The gift I had been referring to was what you gained by stealing from me…or rather what you lost. You took, and activated this gift, though not so good to you…but I do find it interesting that you would think I was speaking of your powers” He said, realizing that she must be insecure about them, and be much more limited than he was.

“No I’m not a loan shark, but I can be helpful with those I choose” Talon responded, laughing lightly as she spoke of normally getting more than the drink he gave her, dinner too and an extra. “Apparently you ‘drugged’ me before we could get to that point”

Talon calmly watched her as she threw her hissy fit, calling him arrogant and ranting about what he stole from her once more. “I have a well deserving confidence, nothing more” He told her. “And you stole from me twice, you needed something you’d pay attention to, like I said it doesn’t have to be permanent, and I believe I was very accommodating in making it easy for you to track me down. If I was really an arrogant SOB I would’ve left the area now wouldn’t I? I knew you’d be looking for me”

As she winked at him and thought she might have made more of an impression than he let on he smiled at her. “That’s a better attitude to have”

“I find glamours unnecessary myself, seems like a waste of energy that could be better spent on something else” Talon told her as she told him she couldn’t stay how she was. He couldn’t understand why she’d feel the need to glamour herself other than to trick the same men day after day so she wouldn’t be identified. It couldn’t be about her looks, he thought she looked better this way then before.

Talon watched as Rux sat on the stool beside him, glad she had listened to reason and was calming herself. He nodded approvingly before sipping his drink again.

He then smiled as she started making small talk. He knew he needed to get her calmed before returning her powers. Not that he was afraid of them, he just didn’t want to put up with her trying something else. They’d have to be on friendly terms. “No its not a New York name, I’m not sure the exact origin, either English or religious origins I’d guess” He said, not knowing if his mother had named him or the nuns who found him at the monastery. He didn’t really care how he got the name.

“Can I get you a drink?” He then offered her.

Rux wondered if that smile was him mocking her name, though she also wondered if she was just been over sensitive to anything he said or did. Though if that was the case, Rux knew she had due cause. As she shared something about her self and her childhood Rux wondered about him, who he was, where he was from, was he alone. All silly thoughts she wasn’t about to voice. In return to his smile she offered her own letting her eyes travel over him seeing again how handsome her was.

“Common courtesy?” She scoffed with a half laugh. “I took a few bucks from you, you stole my gifts; my very identity.” Rux said her anger replace my disbelieve at how he wasn’t even seeing that they had both been at fault. As this obviously self righteous man went on about her bringing it on herself and her gifts Rux self consciously crossed her arms over he ample chest. If he could create a spell to take her powers she knew he was a lot more power and therefore dangerous then she was, yet she wasn’t afraid of him just mad at him. “What else would we be talking about? You too my powers so that is the subject of the conversation.” She snapped in a hushed tone so as not to let the Mundie over hear and think she was crazy. “I want them back.” She pouted.

Rux smiled as he accused her of drugging him. “It was a sleep spell, nothing more. Who says from you I’d have wanted more? You’re very sure of yourself.” She smirked knowing full well she wanted more then just the money she took. He was handsome and smart even if he was a little arrogant. Rux thought back to when she had frisked him for his wallet remembering the feel of his under his clothes as her hands brushed over him. “So if you’re not a loan shark, how can you help me? And why? As you keep tell me I stole from you…twice.” She said adding the twice before he could.

As Rux calmed down from her rant she took several deep breaths to stead herself listening to his justification and protesting that he was a nice guy. “So maybe arrogant is from, but you’re certainly an ass hole just an easy to find ass hole.” She said admitting that he hadn’t be hard to find, almost as if he wanted her to find him. “So you wanted to be found? Maybe you wanted to see me again?” She smiled and lent towards him, Rux though about laying her hand on his arm in a gesture of flirting but she wasn’t sure she was calm enough to touch him.

Instead of touching she let the wink from before show her flirting side and nodded as he commented onher better attitude. “Can’t exactly be fighting her in a Mundie bar, now can we?” She said remaining calm no thread of a fight.

“Glamour is my strongest gift and its gets me what I want and need.” She said in a matter of fact tone. Rux wasn’t ashamed of her tricks nor her need for glamour, the only thing she was ashamed of was how she looked without her covers. She felt plain and average, how could she attract men looking how she did now, her mother had always told her she was a plain child. Once she had gained full use of her gifts, she changed her plainness and hardly ever went back to it, except now. “I need the Glamour.” She said not explaining her need.

Slipping on to her seat Rux looked him over again noting yet again how handsome her was, his eyes drew her in and she wanted to stare into them. She watched his lips as his sipped his drink and wondered what it would be like to kiss them, something she hadn’t done in either of the tricks she’d play on him.

“How do you not know?” Rux asked, she had little knowledge of other warlocks let alone their childhoods and she was genuinely intrigued by Talon’s history. “It’s a beautiful name.” She said hoping it was the write word to use knowing it wasn’t very manly. She smiled a little nervous to be just talking with him. “Religious, you Mundie parent was religious?” Wondering how a religious Mundie could get caught up with a demon.

“A drink? I think you owe me dinner and few drinks.” She smiled at him expecting nothing less for the trouble he’d put her through. “But for now I’ll take whatever your drinking.” She said nodding towards his drink.

"You stole from me twice, I borrowed your abilities from you temporarily and made it incredibly easy for you to track me down to get them back. You'll go a few hours without them but have learned to recognize when your mark is like you and not just some mundie...I mean really? " He said a bit insulted that she had even considered him to be something that ordinary not once but twice. He was sure she'd never make that mistake again.

He sighed as she said she ranted again about how she wanted her powers back. "And you'll get them back when you've shown me you deserve them back" He said with a cheeky smile. Really he knew by birth she deserved them he just didnt want to litterally be giving an angry woman more ammunition against him. Women were emotional. He knew he could wait out her temper tantrum. Afterall he had nothing but time.

"Better to be sure of yourself than doubt your ever move. Fail with confidence and at least you've given it your best, but if you're too insecure to even try you've given up before you started" He told her with a shrug as she commented how how sure he was of himself. He was confident and he believed it was well earned confidence he carried. "I'm not a loan shark, but I'm sure we could have worked something out. I can be generous to friends, you just didnt take the time to explore that option"

Talon let her call him an asshole without responding to it, determined not to get into a fight with her here despite her high emotions. He smiled back as she suggested he was only easy to find because he wanted to see her again. "I thought it only fair to let you get back what I took, I'm not cruel. As for seeing you, if I knew you actually looked like this, then maybe my actions would have been purely out of wanting to see you again" He said paying her a compliment on her natural beauty, whether she saw it that way or not.

Talon relaxed a little more as she gave a more flirtatious side, giving into the reason of his argument that she'd have to be calm to get the powers back. "No, we wouldnt want to make a scene here" He agreed as she spoke of not fighting in a mundie bar.

"You are good at the glamour" He said matter of factly, knowing it was true. "But you dont need it, you're doing quite well surviving right now...but don't worry you'll get it back, though I'd think you could be more creative with its uses than just glamour, what about learning to just teleport the money from the wallets to where you are?"

Rux's question about his name actually seemed to hold some sincere interest on her part. It wasnt just making small talk to buy her time but it seemed like she wanted to know. "Thank you" He said as she said it was a beautiful name. "And I dont know because I dont know if I was named before or after I was dropped on the steps of a monastery. Raised by nuns and priests til they knew what I was" He said without a hint of self pitying in his voice.

Talon laughed as she told him that he owed her dinner and a few drinks but she'd settle for whatever he was having now. Talon called the bartender over and ordered 2 more drinks having just finished his own. "We'll see how today goes, maybe you will get dinner too"

When she’d first met him Rux had noticed something different from the Mundies around him, she just hadn’t been sure what. Besides she had needed the money and he’d look well off, he wouldn’t miss a few bucks or more. The second time she’d been confused enough trying to figure out if she’d had him before that his race hadn’t been an issue. In truth his race wasn’t a bother to her, she’d tricked her kind and other downworlders before, he wasn’t the first and wouldn’t be the last. “So that’s it.” she almost laughed. “You’re punishing me for hurting your pride. I couldn’t and wouldn’t have cared if you were a mundie, vampire, or the high war lock of Brooklyn; a trick is a trick you were just a wealthy looking mark.” She smirked still smoldering with anger for what he’d done she didn’t care if she hurt his feelings more.

“Deserve them back.” She yelled then glanced around the bar before dropping her voice. “Just who do you think you are to deem when someone is deserving of their powers or not? You sound like one of them Angel damned Shadowhunters.” she sniped at him. “I was born with those powers, its is not yours or anyone else right to take them from me.”

His confidence shone out and Rux wished she could have just an ounce of that when she stood in her own skin and not some glamour mask. With glamour she wasn’t her and she could be as confidant as the mask and mark needed, as he she reverted back to the little scared girl her mother had always told her she was. “Careful, your confiance may turn to arrogance.” She said with a smile of jest, she wasn’t insulting him now. “I can be confidant.” That was honest, she just wasn’t confidant as herself; how could she be when she looked like she did?

“I don’t need friends like that.” she said instantly assuming he’d want more then her friendship in return and she wouldn’t stoop that low. “And if I need a loan shark I’ll got to a mundie one, their rates are lower and more monetary then what I’m sure you’d want.” She scowled.

Instantly Rux dropped her eyes and her head, not used to anyone commenting on the way she truly looked. She wondered if he was mocking her or toying her, but as she replayed his words she heard no malice or insults. “Don’t, please.” She urged not wanting to hear him comment on her true self even if it was complementary. Without looking up at him she spoke again. “I prefer myself with the glamour, I haven’t looked like this in a very long time.” she said in a quiet tone.

Smiling at him Rux laughed, “And what a scene I’m sure we could make together for them to watch.” She laughed. “Well until the damn Nephilim turned up to take us down.”

Of course she was good at glamour, it was all she had other then basic parlor tricks and mundie could probably do with practice. She didn’t thank him for something she saw as a limited power she just nodded. “Surviving? You think walking around like this is easy? You think what I do with the marks is easy?” She stammered. “If I could simply teleport their money I would, you think I like been that close to them? I can’t, glamour is all I have and now I don’t even have that.”
Hearing he was abandoned made Rux thankful she had been raised by her mother, it wasn’t an easy childhood but at least she wasn’t cast aside. He was cast aside twice and part of her wanted to reach out and touch him offering a silent comfort, but she knew he would probably see it as pity which wasn‘t what she wanted him to see in her touch - ever. “Mundies and parents can be horrible, I know that.” She offered instead. “At least we generally outlive both.” She smiled.

When the bar tender approached Rux looked away still ashamed of her lack of glamour, she smiled to Talon in thank though. “Today? So you intend on spending the day with me? Or is that a requirement for the return of my property?” The idea of spending the day with him made Rux smile a little more, there was something about Talon that had that effect on her. “If you think you can tolerate me for the day then I can certainly try to tolerate you.” She said with a wink as she picked up her drink to clink with his.

"I'm punishing you for thinking I was a good mark, it's a mistake I want to make sure you don't make again. The money I can get easily enough on my own, but I am not here for you to play your games on" Talon told her. Maybe she was right, maybe it was an issue of pride. The fact that she didnt care what species he was he thought was a bit insulting to their entire race. "Maybe you should be more careful with who you pick for marks"

Talon waited for Rux to calm back down after yelling, knowing if she kept it up they'd be asked to leave from the bar, something he would not be pleased about and might just keep her powers from her for another day if she caused him to be removed. "Who am I? Who are you to decide who to drug and steal, you're a criminal, you seem more like a street vampire, I would not be calling names" He said snidely as she compared him to a shadowhunter. Two could play at this.

"Even if my cofidence does become arrogant, do you think I really care?" Talon said with a smirk, not minding if his little character trait came off a bit unappealing, he had enough power to deserve to be arrogant, even if he didnt think he was at this point. "Can you?" He asked honestly as she said how she could be confident. "Then don't be in such a hurry to change your appearance, be confident in your natural self"

Talon gave a low chuckle as she spoke of what she assumed he'd want from her in exchange for money. "Now who's being arrogant in thinking I'd make those kind of deals" He said shaking his head as he watched her scowl at him.

He watched the way she reacted to his compliment on her natural looks with a bit of surprise, not able to see why she was so upset. "Its much better this way, maybe you should let yourself experience it more often" He said not sure why she'd prefer the glamour, he thought she was much better looking now.

Talon laughed as she now began to loosen up and joked a little about the scene the two of them could make before the nephilim showed up. "I'd like to see them try to take me down, those kids don't scare me" Even the adult shadownhunters were mere children in Talon's eyes, despite the fact that they might appear older than him.

"For all I know you get off on the rush of putting one over on people, perhaps you do enjoy it" He said shrugging in response to her question. She had admitted to him she didnt have the power to even teleport money, he was sure with a little practice she'd be able to do it, it wasn't even one of the more difficult things he did.

He nodded as she commented on mundies and parents being horrible, glad she didnt give him a look of pity, he didnt feel sorry for himself for the way he was raised, it was enough in the past that he didnt give it much thought anymore. He nodded as she mentioned how they outlived both. "A benefit of our race"

He gave a light shrug as she asked if he intended on spending the day with her. "I have no set requirements, I'll know when you're ready" He said smirking as she questioned their ability to tolerate each other. "I can try to tolerate you as well" He told her, clinking his glass against hers before taking a drink, his eyes on hers as he grinned.

As he spoke, still chastising her like a child, Rux listened and smirked. “Funny I think you are a good mark rich, handsome, good body. I’m sure if I’d have had more time I wouldn’t have needed the sleeping charm, you’ve have probably fallen asleep after the good night then I could have just taken your money.” She said trying to sound more confident then she felt in her current guise. She wouldn’t have minded finding out if she could have used her feminine charms on him though now she doubted that was very unlikely. Now she concentrated on getting her powers back and not losing anymore dignity. “You’d have enjoyed my games and you know it. That’s what annoys you isn’t it, you didn’t get to try them.” She said with a rueful smile her lips falling into a small smile as she looked at him.

Her teasing was quickly turned in to anger and she freely yelled, feeling little better for the exertion or effort. When he spoke snidely too her she felt her anger burn further, the name calling really made her want to blow her top, but she knew the bar wasn’t the place. For the first time since she was a child Rux wished for a more active power, something to throw at him or burn him with. “Would you really care all this much if I’d have pick a Mundie? Or did I just hurt your pride getting one over on you?” She hissed back. “As for been a vampire, if it was I’d have killed you by now.” She snapped.

His arrogance was certainly a turn off, but there was so much about him that wasn’t. The more Rux looked at him the more she saw of what attracted her to him in the first place, it was so much more then him been a good mark. Rux didn’t let herself feel very often, but when she did it wasn’t a nice feeling. Talon made her feel something different, or made her want to feel what he inspired in her. She doubted he cared much about how he came off to other people, that was certainly something she found appealing in him.

When he turned the table back on her question Rux worried how much he saw through her façade. “Its not that easy to give up, I like the change.” She said knowing at least that much was true, but it was the reason she changed that she wouldn’t speak of. Rux had never felt comfortable in her own skin, in other guises she was comfortable and confidant and when those feelings wore off she simply changed. “How can I truly be confidant in this.” She said gesturing down to her body and skin. She didn’t want to come across as unconfident and weak in front of him, but he seemed to bring out the truth in her.

It wasn’t that repulsive of an idea for her to trade money for something else, with him atleast. Yet even as she though about it she knew that over stepped a line into something else other then a thief and that was something she didn’t want to become. “Its tempting though righ.” she cocked her head and smiled a little. “But your right, I’m a lowly thief not a hooker.” She said straightening up her posture.

The compliment he gave her felt alien to her ears. Rux wasn’t use to hearing honest complements, but she never question that his was honest. “I’m not used to been this way.” She said gesturing to herself again, but this time with less anger then before. “Its been years.” She said not really remembering when she was last her real self.

As they both seemed to loosen up and relax into each others compant Rux felt herself open up a little. Hearing him refer to the Nephilim as kids she smiled. “They don’t scare me either, but I give them a wide birth. Some of them are too quick with them blades.” She said not wanting to be on the wrong end of them. “Kids?” She laughed. “Not all of them are kids.” She smiled.

“There’s parts I enjoy, but I don’t enjoy what I have to do to get it.” She said honestly knowing she didn’t like the indignity she sometimes had to have to get close to the men to put on over on them. She hated the way she had to play up to them and how dirty she felt with it. “I like the money and the reward.” She said.

She felt her heart go out to Talon as he spoke of his childhood, but she knew better then to show pity or sympathy, she’d already guessed he was to proud for it. It was truth that out living their human parents was a benefit. “I’m not sure our race has an negatives.” She said with a smile.

Watching his smirk as he spoke of their day and her getting her powers back she smiled back at him. “I’m ready right now, you just don’t see it.” She smiled hopeful he’d see it, but also happy to spend the day with him. As they clink glasses she took in his grin liking how it made his face look. “Here to tolerating and exchanging.” She said in their toast.

Talon just sat there with a smirk shaking his head as she talked about how she could have just used a little more energy and not needed the sleeping charm at all, having just used her feminine charms. He let her go on until she said how he was merely annoyed that he didnt get to try them. He leaned closer to her. "If I just wanted to try them, I could have you at any time, I'm much more charming than you"

"If you'd have picked a mundie I wouldnt have cared" He told her. "Going after your own race is what's pathetic. And you forget, even if you had been a vampire, you wouldnt have have killed me because I'd still be more powerful than you. You wouldnt get within an 10 foot radius, let alone be able to drain me, I could throw you out the door now without lifting a finger." He said plainly, stating it as a fact, rather than bragging. He didnt think even now she fully knew what she was up against.

The one thing that still baffled him was her insistency on using the glamour, even asking him how she could be confident in her own natural appearance. "How can you not? " He asked her. "Its better than anything I've seen you in yet, much more attractive" He said not just trying to be nice or play with her mind but only saying it because he felt it true. She had always been attractive to him, but she was much more appealing to him this way than either of her other forms.

He smirked at her as she suggest that a deal of money for something else was tempting. "You are a tempting woman" He said, wanting her to hold on to that confidence and bit of arrogance in her assumption, thinking she needed it. He had originally just wanted to punish her and teach her a lesson, now he found himself wanting to build her up.

"Years?" He repeated in shock as she revealed that it had been a long time since she'd been her real self. "You should try it more often, get used to it, you'll get to like it" He said sure of it.

He laughed lightly as she mentioned how some of the shadowhunters were too quick with the blades. "They are...and they're all kids to me, even their elderly, I have years on them all"

"There's other ways to get money, this way seems a bit demeaning to yourself even" He said, thinking her entire process of night after night seducing men, even if she did drug them before anything happened, was something she was too good for.

He smiled as she suggested that their race didnt have any negatives. "No, none that I've found yet" He continued to grin as she told him she was ready now. He knew that wasn't true, her temper hadn't dissipated enough, but he also knew he was looking forward to seeing what a day with her would bring. "Well put" he said in comment to her toast.

Their fight seemed to be slipping to banter and an attempt to one up each other with their claims of charm and sexual claims. Rux fixed her face with a charm she hoped was both smug and beautiful on her less then passable features. When he leaned closer Rux was sure the catch in her breathing was audible, but she couldn’t be sure if it was fear or excitement at his change in proximity. Her breathing didn’t have chance to return to normal as he claimed to be more charming then her Rux quickly broke into a spontaneous laugh. “You want me, even now.” She said in a hushed tone as she leaned into him. “You may be charming but I’m far more tempting.”

“When I first went after you I didn’t know what you were, I assumed you were a mundie.” She said hanging her head and knowing as she said it that if she’d have looked both times, instead of been more bothered by money, that she’d have seen his power it pulsed around him. “The second time, I wasn’t sure I even remember you. I though you looked familiar, but I need the money.” She said trying to explain herself, but she knew she couldn’t excuse it. Rux knew that going after her own kind was pathetic. As his words turned dark she stole a glance at him, she could see how powerful he was and that it wasn’t boasting. Not knowing what to say in response to his would be threat she nodded quietly.

Him questioning her need for glamor didn’t anger her, merely frustrated her, how could he not see how repulsive her natural look was? “This,” She gestured to her face and let her hands trail down her body, “Is disgusting. I hate been this way. Not even in private do I let myself be this way.” She said with a pout of disgust. As he complimented her, in a half assed fashion, she felt a little shocked and confused wondering if it was another game. “If this is some kind of therapy or punishment, I don’t need either thanks.” She smirked composing her scowl again.

Again she wondered if his words were a joke to him, did he want to anger her. “Like this; no, but I can be. Do you prefer blonds? Redheads?” She asked wondering what she could be to really tempt him, as she wondered what she could do to please him once she’d tempt him. Her mind tried to place what she was the two times she’d tricked him, but all of her glamour masks tended to blur.

“Is this part of the punishment? Years of this?” She grimaced at the very idea and knew if that’s what he intended then she wouldn’t last a week, if a day. “I’m happy not been me, I’m happy been a different me daily. That’s what I like.” She said with a pout hoping to prove it to him.

“How old are you?” She asked questioningly wondering how old her truly his face was nothing more then mid twenties, but she knew that meant nothing. “You don’t look a day over 25.” She smiled.

Those words stung. Of course she knew what she did was demeaning, but hearing him say it was painful. “Don’t you think I know that? Do you think I this for the self esteem kicks?” She asked with the same tone of voice. “I do it because I need the money, unlike you I’m not Omni powerful.”

His grin was certainly more beautiful then his anger, but just as heart stopping. She grinned in return knowing it was no where near as amazing as his. The idea of spending the day together was promising and despite the reasons for the need she was looking forward to it. As their glasses clinked on the toast she smiled. “Perhaps you can show me you power.” She said letting the innuendoes fly.
