Alec laughed softly as Magnus spoke about the scary side of glitter that he had seen in the 70s. It really did seem that they were from two different worlds. Alec hadn't even been born yet in the 70s. Despite his youthful appearance, Magnus had much more experience than Alec had or could ever have. It brought back Alec's fears of whether this was a hopeless cause. But being on a date with him, out in public it seemed like a sign from the angel to at least try so he didnt regret it the rest of his life.
Alec looked back at Magnus as the warlock assured him that they didnt need to shout it from the rooftops that he'd be happy with whatever Alec was comfortable with. "I've made us wait for this for too long already" He said knowing it had been hard on them both before. "I'm comfortable with this for now" He assured him.
Alec smirked as Magnus called himself an old man, having had hundreds of years to get this out. "I can't imagine you ever not as out as you are now" He said shaking his head. "And for an old man you're looking good"
Alec then nodded knowing it was out of their control if something came up ruining their night off. "Any creature or demonic being tries to ruin our night off, they'll wish they'd never seen me"

“Trust me, these mundies in glitter and spandex are far more frightening then you demons and Claves. “ He said shuddering at the thought. “You have to have the body and penash for two bold statements, I’m lucky I have enough of both for several statements over.” He smiled complimenting himself as he did each time he looked in the mirror or shiny surface.
It was true Magnus had waited for Alec to get to this point, be he had forever and he didn’t mind, too much, holding out for him. Patience was something he was working with, and had been the whole time he’d known Alec from the waiting for him to come to terms with his feelings mixed in with the late night health calls and been pulled into battles he’d rather stay out of; Alec was certainly teaching Magnus a few things. “Well you had the world to run off and save and I had a few parties to throw. We’ll just plan our courtship better next time, maybe take a break and put the world on hold.” Magnus couldn’t help thinking that the literal idea of the world on hold wasn’t a bad thing for a while.
“I was out before it was cool, but back then they just called it odd and insanity.” He smirked remembering the days when he was persecuted because of his sexuality and not just his nature. Back then Magnus had had dark days, but he’s come through it all even before the world had changed it views. “I was probably never very in, in a lot of ways.” He smirked again proud of his unique ways.
Magnus liked to hear how set Alec was mentally for their date, or at least against any downworlder or Mundie that may try to thwart it. “Yea well lets just hope it isn’t you sister or the rest of the Scooby gang because I know you can’t resist roping me into their latest plots to over throw some uprising.” He laughed. Magnus had realized more and more that if it wasn’t for the unfortunate past he had with Clary’s mother (and the incident with the now Vampire former Mundie) he’d have never met Alec and the rest of the group he loosely referred to as friends.

Alec chuckled as Magnus spoke of the mundies in glitter and spandex being scarier than demons and claves, followed quickly by a compliment he paid to himself. It amazed Alec sometimes just how self confident the warlock was. It was a trait Magnus shared with Jace, and must be somthing that Alec liked in a guy.
Alec considered for a moment Magnus' words, of taking a break and putting the world on hold. "I dont suppose that you actually know how to put the world on hold do you?" He asked, thinking it would be interesting if the warlock could stop time just for the two of them to have a moment of escape. He knew it was unrealistic though. They had been through a lot to get here, the recent battles, and Alec calling on Magnus for help, involving him more than he knew he should have.
"I dont think I ever would have been able to do what you did" Alec said, still finding it hard to actually say the words that he himself had come out. He knew that when it wasn't as common as it was today, he would have just hid it. He probably would still be hiding it if he hadn't met, and gotten close to Magnus. Magnus was his reason for admitting who he really was, for accepting it. It was worth the risk. Magnus on the other hand he never saw as caring what others thought, whether he was in or not.
"My sister and the rest of them aren't immune to my wrath if they try to ruin tonight" Alec said seriously at the thought. If one of them came to them with an emergency, Alec knew he'd be in a foul mood. He gave a smirk though as Magnus mentioned roping him into it. "I needed some excuse to see you again after I stopped being your prisoner"

Quickly laughter filled the air and Magnus wondered if wonders would never cease as Alec made a joke. Sure he’d heard the Nephilim be sarcastic, joke at others expense and throw out the odd one liner but this comment really tickled him. “If I knew how to do that I’d have been doing it for years, more so in the recent past that I’ve known you.” he smiled offering a wink. It waas true, Magnus could just think of the things he could do with the world and Alec frozen, though he knew it would only be for a short time. As a side note he made a mental point to check those sort of charms out later.
“Oh that was nothing.” He said with a wave of his hand. Magnus he’s never really been in so coming out was more of a pixie step then a Vampire learning to walk in the midday sun. “Try pulling of white after labor day, that gets far more raised eyebrows then been a less then straight High Warlock. I think Fairies, Vampire and the occasion other warlock expect a high warlock to be a little flamboyant. And as with every thing I just raise their expectations.” Magnus smiled holding his head high knowing he raised the bar in the majority of things he turned his hand and attention too. Though he had no intentions of changing Alec, just his color palette a little.
The time he’d been roped into the gangs exploits weren’t all as bad as Magnus had been known to make out, in fact he enjoyed any time with Alec; the others not so much. “Now now, you weren’t my prisoner. More my guest invited to stay by defacto.” Magnus said wanting to call it something else. “Besides I never did get to use those hand cuffs, did I?” He smiled.

Hearing Magnus' laughter filling the air around them was a pleasant and welcome surprise. Alec wasn't used to many people finding him funny. Seeing the way he brought that out of Magnus made Alec smile. He smirked as Magnus suggested he would have frozen time a lot more lately since they had met. "Maybe I should have asked Clary to work up a rune for us" He said knowing he'd hate to ask Clary for anything but to have more time alone with Magnus it would be worth it.
"You raise everyone's expectations" Alec agreed with him, though he did believe he was being a little modest in saying that being out as he was was nothing. He knew years ago it couldnt have been easy. The mundie world was more accepting of it now but Alec still struggled with it. But in every way Magnus had raised Alec's own expectations. He had certainly changed the boy's view on the appeal of a high warlock.
"I was your replacement, the second string" Alec said wondering what would have happened if that clause had never been a part of the agreement, if Jace had been the one to stay. "But you were always the perfect host" He said then looking down blushing as Magnus brought up the handcuffs that he hadnt gotten to use. "Then you may just have to keep seeing more of me" He said shyly flirting, trying to push himself even out on the street.
