Apparently BobbyV was angry last night. He doesn't like losing. The bunt had to be put down and the steal shouldn't have been tried. Good. He should be as angry as the cranky, sleep deprived fans watching this stumblebum road trip.

Today, The Fourth of July, is a day to celebrate something truly wonderful, and the game is a sideshow. So let's enjoy cheers.gif

I doubt Cook is going to survive nine innings on 81 pitches, but there's no reason he can't give us a chance to win. That's his job and I expect him to do it.

Will the offense do theirs? They'll be facing a Red Sox nemesis - the proverbial never-seen-before rookie who's off to a hot start and has plenty more to prove. Rising to the challenge should be the theme today, along with a smack down of the expats - Crisp, Moss, and Reddick are having too much fun at our expense and much as I liked them all once upon a time, they are no longer on our side. They need to be silenced, along with their mates.

Experience and guile from our pitching, fireworks from our bats and blockades from our defense sounds like a winning formula to me. Go do it, Red Sox!

W.T.F?

I was listening most but not all of the game. Did hear Papi hit #400 cheers.gif cheers.gif cheers.gif cheers.gif

So their road record regressed toward the mean. Now on to Fenway where their home record could use a little "regression".

WTF indeed.

We started the day with guests and a Farmers Market Buffet. I ate about 5 pounds of local canteloupe, called muskmelon here. Spent the next 6 or so hours on the bathroom floor, excuse my french. I don't know if it was the melon or not, but it sure feels like it.

I tried to revive about 6, when I read traceys post about the Red Sox lead in the 7th.

Back to horizontal and that spacey can't move sick world.

Finally made it to the livingroom at 10, get in the easy chair and put on the usual 4th of July viewing of the Boston Pops on the Esplanade and the beautiful Boston Fireworks! I switch to Baseball Tonight where Dave O"Brien and Nomar exclaim over Youks' walk off home run!!!!!!!!

and the Red Sox lost.
Maybe there was acid in that melon!!!!

So many things are not going right that the mind wanders and wonders about bad karma. Are we paying for the bad treatment of Terry Francona? Or is it random shit for luck? Will DMac be allowed to play against us? And why wouldn't they push that button?

Like Macs, I'm happy for Youk and never had any doubt he'd win over Chicago; and I dread seeing our guys pitch to him.

And Macs? 5 pounds of cantaloupe?!? Are you related to Joey Chestnut? jawdrop.gif

i said at the start, this looks like a team slapped together with premium parts in some places and broken parts others andthey dont fit.bad trades, faulty decisions see the bard decision and all the events it caused.take on bad kharma with injuries etc and here we are, though im surprised we are at 500 or a little above.still hope, but its getting hard.

A day off to lick the wounds and recoup. The good news is, pitching was only responsible for one of the west coast losses (Dice-K's meltdown). In all the other games, the starters and bullpen pitched well enough to win.

The offense is still missing, and that needs to change. Fortunately there's nothing like a Yankee series at Fenway to get the bats going.
