Eric Hinske's ink

I know nothing about tattoos - nothing. Can a person get sunburned through the ink?

I know nothing about tattoos either, but a little googling reveals lots of advice to use sunscreen over tattoos to keep them from fading.

Smells like team spirit

So if there aren't any brewing or bioling controversies, you go with the flow. This is similar, but much more fun than CHB's piece.

You want to know what constitutes a big issue around this team? Whos hitting seventh and whos hitting eighth. Someone call Bryant Gumbel now. We may be looking at an episode of Real Sports.

I like this excerpt too.

You know why there was a whole new emphasis on pitching and defense this year? Because Cameron and Beltre were available and because Jason Bay got away. The truth is it was a matter of convenience and opportunity, not some ideology that suddenly took hold in the front office.

Its a product of taking an honest look at where we are, Epstein said. The players that were available did fit and they did address our run prevention concerns, and they were available on short-term deals. Its not always going to be that way.

They fade most often with sunburns, which can fade the ink when the skin peels. Colors fade more than black, and the lighter the color the easier the fading. It is also dependent on the quality of the ink.

Im just not sure how much better the run prevention realy can be,they were second best in this area.
