Tonight, Tampa's (I REFUSE to call them "Tampa Bay") postseason education continues. That's right Rays, it ain't the exhausted White Sox anymore, it's a rested, motivated giant of a defending champion that you're playing now.

Tonight...it's Nuke. I don't feel the need to say anything else other then the fact that I would be willing to bet he's got a little something special for the Tampons tonight. He looked like shit against Anaheim (I REFUSE to call them the "Los Angelos Angels of Anaheim"), and I'm thinking he's going to go out there feeling like he has something to prove. For the Rays, it's one time Sox nemesis Scott Kazmir. I use the phrase "one time" here because the Sox lit him up like a Christmas tree this year. Personally, I think he's hurt, he hasn't looked right for a couple months.

I'd like to see more then 2 runs tonight. I got my fill of exciting and entertaining last night.

side notes:

- last night was a close, tense, exciting game...and it was ENJOYABLE! Playing a similar game against the Yankees would have had me hoarse from screaming obscenities
- for the last couple days I've been perusing the national sports forums, and both the so-called "experts" and fans were pretty much in agreement as to how bad a choice it was for Tito to start Dice-K last night...yeah...whatever...

*PERSONAL NOTE*

I bounced a couple PMs out this morning regarding this-

can we PLEASE leave anything even remotely resembling political discussion in the appropriate forum? We have a political forum, that's what it's for. We don't all have the same views, and nothing kills a good discussion or a fun game thread faster then somebody bringing up something that another member may be on the extreme opposite side of. Some of us get pretty offended- I know I do. Thanks. Just remember, out here, it's a true bipartisan effort.

as always...

GO SOX!!!

Go Red Sox - this team is a MONSTER!!! in the post season. What a great baseball game last night.!! But I wouldn't mind a blowout tonight too, so I can grow my fingernails back But I'll take a win however it comes.
I agree about the politics staying in that thread.I Even on that thread we have lost more than one poster (SNG, anyone?)
Our Monsterness should not be put at risk by mere politics. Anyway, I'm right about it all, politically, so you're just wasting your time lol

KEEP THE LINE MOVING!!!!!!!!

Great start Ghost, keep 'em coming!

I'm inclined to believe Beckett was rusty, and now he's pissed at that performance against Anaheim. He kept his team in it, but an ace doesn't do that, he DOMINATES the opposition. That's what Nuke gonna do, dominate tonight so that the Fenway crowd will be in a frenzy with the smell of Ray blood in the water...

Let's keep the pressure on that team! NO MORE COWBELL!

Tonight, IMO, has the most potential of any game in this series to be a high scoring game. Both pitchers have been shaky lately, and after tonight the series moves to the chilly confines of Fenway, where the temperature will likely keep the bats from getting too carried away.

totaly agree with thin here this has the potential to be my kind of game, lots of hits and runscoring opps.Right now both Nuke and kaz are overated,i still wonder if nuke is hurt and has been all year.kaz has been mediocre all yearhigh scoring and entertaining to us non purists.lets get home and wrap this puupy up.

It's a BEAUTIFUL October day here in NH - sunny, warm enough, and the trees are simply spectacular. All those leaf peepers who clogged up I-93 last night heading up here for the long weekend are in for a treat. Why do I put up with endless snow and cold and mud and black flies? For days like this. I wish you could all be here. biggrin.gif

But I digress ...

Go Ghost!

Go Nuke!

Go Red Sox!!!!

Despondent Dodger fans saw the D-Lowe face (the one that signifies an impending meltdown on the mound) on Thursday. I don't miss that one bit.
