the sox lost 19-8 on Friday, ending its hopes of winning the AL East as Tampa Bay captured its first title. The Red Sox will begin the postseason on the road as the AL wild card next Wednesday against the AL West champion Los Angeles Angels.

lets keep everyone healthy so on sunday we can wish the mfy a happy off season playing golf instead of basball :duel:

btw for those that remember that i said hell would freeze over and Satan himself would personally invite me to see it if the mfr won the division
let me tell you it was an awesome sight :party2:

Nope. Wrong.

I am confident that we can take the Halos with or without Lowell. As valuable an asset as he is, this team's done some great late-season accomplishments without his help.

Our record this year against LAA has not been good, but as someone's already pointed out, that was with a few key elements missing, elements which are there right now.

And I still maintain that the Angels can't dominate in the post-season.

On other matters, yes, I DO agree about the lack of interest in this game, and wanting to move on to the playoffs!

As good as the sox have been without lowell this is the playoffs and this guy has tons of it.I wont bother to go into the fact that they wiped us out this seaon in the head to head as its hard to know what the manny effect is since 2 of the series took place in the beginning of mannys insurrection and his departure. They angels did look like a differnt team than the one we faced over the years, they have some real power bats,as always its about pitching,im betting this series goes the distance.

Mabuhay :VBG:

We do want to get these final games in. Dice-K and Wakes final playoff tuneups might be important.

On the other hand, there's thing to get excited about.

A tweener for me, too late to go back to bed (plus the coffee factor), too early to be up. (12 hrs. time diff.)

Well I'm thrilled too!!!! A double header!! and my only conflict is that I'm closing the pool........Hell out back I'll have that XM radio on full blast......so all my NY neighbors can hear Joe Castiglione calling out phrases like "Youkilis hits a high drive to left off the Green Monster" and "Dice K strikes out Matsui with changeup to end the 6th" or "Pedroia and Ellsbury scores and here comes Bay, he scores and the Sox are up seven to one!"
Once the covers on and the pump dried and in the shed, I'll down a few cold ones......and salute The Sox!..Johnny Pesky and the end of regular season play!..

Wednesday is a new season........we'll be in it....rooting once again, for the Sox!

rain, rain go away..........and Go Red Sox!! the World Champs!

macs3rd - September 28, 2008 02:33 AM (GMT)
I love them too.!!!!! Used to skip out before school was over and go to twi night double headers. Once, Hawk Harrelson, yup, that guy, hit a Grand Slam!! Anyway, I'm looking forward tommorow and hope the fans at the ballpark have a great time too.

Meanwhile, night off for Monsters........I assume that means :tracey: :tracey: :tracey:

Harrelson was the replacement for Tony C.
