to the north of Meryton lies Meryton Woods. scenic and suprisingly old, it has been a favourite walk for many generations.

Oakham Mount is the highest hill in the area, though it has little competition. mostly the young, fit and adventurous take this path, the rest excuse themselves on behalf of their health.
