but really, i only left the forum at the end of 2006 due to certain behaviours i didn't think i could tolerate any longer, but i never severed ties with Islandnoise per se - i continued to have my gigs and other news regarding my music put on the main page

with the new prints of my albums being out, i decided to return to the forum

COTT is just for performance rights (royalties)
You do the copyrighting yourself (Library of Congress or an attorney's copyright or simply "poor man's copyright") as you know, and COTT just does the monitoring and collection/distribution of royalties for the songs (incurred from radio airplay, venues having live gigs/venues using your music, etc.)

so yes, i am with COTT just for the performance rights part of it



regarding Darrin: i have yet to have my 4th album Cuatro finished in studio since June/July2007
i have just a few tracks remaining to be recorded yet the project remains to be finished due to factors beyond my control regarding Darrin's studio.
therefore, the RDS song (that i reminded him many times about) is even further in the background (again, due to factors beyond my control)
when i am again in studio to finish Cuatro, i will make mention of it again.

i hope though that we have not set you back in any way
at this point, it may be safe to say to you to proceed without our contribution because i cannot tell you surely when it would be done (due to the same factors)

btw, would you like to buy the albums?

I had the 1st album and it was ok, didn't like the production on it as it sounded pretty raw. And you sent me mp3s of your second album a good while back if I remember correctly. I'm looking foward to the 4th album though so let me know as soon as you got it for sale. I hope Darin will give you a nicer mix on this one than on the 1st one.

the few 2nd album mp3s i sent you a couple years back were from the home demo of the album, not the studio recordings, so you still don't have the 2nd and 3rd albums

I recorded the 1st album at Roger Israel's studio in January 1999
the 2nd, 3rd and 4th albums were done by Darrin (so you have yet to hear those )
