Administrator Group: Admin Posts: 13 Member No.: 1 Joined: 14-February 09	THE RULES. yes, i know rules do suck, but we kinda need them to make sure we don't have anarchy - as sexy as the sex pistols made it sound in "anarchy in the uk". i promise that they'll be painless, so let's just get through them, okay? savvy. CHARACTERS & POSTING --- there are no limits on how many characters you can play, but we ask you to please make sure you can seriously handle them all, that they aren't all canons, and that you stay active with them all. we don't judge on being character whores, so the more you can handle, awesome. --- our only "rule" that we are setting into stone - the others were more just ... guidelines - is that for every two girls you make at least one boy. we will be making sure of this, so please follow that simple rule. --- oh, and to prevent more inactive characters, we ask that you at least roelplay with the character you already have before making a new one. i know the activity check is what weeds out all these inactive characters, but still, y'know? --- to register, please make sure that you have registered properly. it should be your character's full name, all in lowercase letters. if you mess up, just ask an admin to change your name for you and we'll be more than pleased to help because you've asked nicely. --- until you are accepted into the site, you are only allowed to post in the CBOX and APPLICATION THREAD. we do keep track of people's characters, and if you are not following this rule, you won't be accepted. --- on registration, please make sure that both the face/canon you want is available, and that said face is not being requested for another character at the moment. it gets annoying when someone wants a certain face to be used for a requested character and then the face gets used - but having nothing to do with the original request. --- we have cannons to speed up our plot. click here to view them. the only sort of experienced trainers we are accepting are cannons. if you are planning on playing an original, they must be a rookie trainer, unless you have already discussed it with an admin. --- despite this being a (mainly) pokemon forum, we do require playbys. please, make sure pictures are readily available to you, and not someone you found on myspace. no anime pictures. sorry. --- this is a literate/advanced forum. we require paragraphs. plural. at minimum, there should be two chunky paragraphs, with a minimum of five sentances. just keep up the pace with the person you are posting with. --- god-moding and powerplaying and sues are frowned upon. it doesn't matter if you're playing jesus christ, you're not perfect. --- no chatspeak. use propper punctuation/grammar/spelling. even if english isn't your first language, if you consider yourself a literate roleplayer, you should be able to do this. --- no 'fortune-telling'. what's fortune-telling? when you as the player know what's going to happenin a plot and randomly throw in that your character knows - but in reality thecharacter doesn't know. we don't like that, so please, just be cool. --- once registered, please post a links in your signature to your character profile and PC. it's so that us staff members have an easier time to make sure your PC is updated, and for other curious members to see your character's profile. ROLEPLAYING --- in wttf, we have a few rules in our roleplays. here, we try to combine reality with pokemon, hence the cities. we created this forum with the intention of bringing darker elements into the roleplay. so this means a few things. first off, the pokemon attacks are, in fact, dangerous. if you are attacked by a pokemon, you will get bruised, and if the pokemon is strong, then you will get broken bones. the pokemon center should be able to take care of both pokemon and human injuries, so don't worry about that. --- pokemons are also a little different in fallout. their four-move limit is deleted, and instead, we have the process of 'growing&learning.' the pokemon memorize all of their previous moves, and weaker attacks merely get replaced by the stronger ones. for example, a charmander with scratch, ember, growl, and smokescreen levels up. it learns slash, flamethrower and dragonrage. the slash and flamethrower would merely replace scratch and ember, but dragonrage would just be learned, because it doesn't have any related attacks. so this charmander would now know slash, flamethrower, growl, smokescreen and dragonrage. --- when a captured pokemon's health drops to a critical state, it should be called back to its pokeball. there they are kept safe, although they are not healed. this can prevent their death, although a visit to a pokemon center is needed to heal said pokemon. --- death happens in this roleplay. if you are in a battle and your pokemon reaches the critical state (a moderator will notify you), and you do not call your pokemon back, the next time it is attacked, the said pokemon will die. --- don't just roleplay by yourself and a mod. roleplay with other people. go on a quick partner journey. variety and interaction is key. --- trainers will battle on their own--we trust you guys--but mods will be watching, just in case. if we think something's going wrong, we'll interrupt the battle and say so. when we do, we expect something to be changed. otherwise, any posts following after the admin post will be deleted. when a battle starts, an admin/mod should be pm'd about it with a link to the forum. --- when starting a board, state in the description as to whether you'd like a certain mod to post and whether it's open or closed. if you state that it is open, any other trainer will be able to jump in and join you on your journey. if it is closed and you are having a journey with someone else, please state which character is allowed to post on your board, so that we don't flip out. --- here, we allow you to control your own pc. which means that when something happens in the course of the roleplay, such as your pokemon leveling up or obtaining an item, you must update your own pc. if we find that you are cheating, you will first be warned. the second time, you will find that all your items have gone and have returned to the starter kit. the third offense, your account will be deleted. GRAPHICS & SIGS --- we all like graphics. they're the pretty stuff that decorates our characters and shows the world just how pretty our character faces are. but we've got a fewrules about them. first is that you don't use images that are too large and that can stretch the board. if we see a stretched board, the image will be deleted. --- check the face claim thread for used faces. if your favourite face is taken, don't let that stop you from joining us! ask for help in the cbox and we will be more than happy to help. --- i know not everyone is a graphics wizard with nifty programs such as photoshop cs3, so there is a request forum where you can get graphics. asking on the cbox is a no-no, and rather annoying, so we ask you to please post in the request form and wait for a wonderful soul to fly in and save you. --- when someone does make your graphics, we ask that you please credit them in the interests part of your profile. another thing about graphics is that you do not hotlink. hotlinking is the same thing as stealing, and didn't your mother teach you that stealing is wrong? so don't do it or else ducky's brigade of pain will come after you. the best way to avoid ducky's brigade of pain? host the images in your own photo account - ie photobucket, tinypic, imageshack, etc. CONDUCT & MISC. --this board is rated 'r'. yes, sex, drugs and rock 'n roll happen, even when the nuns are on patrol. however, this gives no reason for people to go around posting pornography, as in every other forum. drama is all welcome, but let's try to moniter it just the same. --- we as people demand respect. everyone does, and it doesn't matter if you're barack obama or lindsay lohan - you still deserve to be treated with respect. it is the key to making the world a better place and the most important rule to follow. respect means many things, but most importantly, things like: obeying wishes of other members, not using derogatory terms/inflammatory remarks,not constantly pestering or annoying other members/admins to reply to threads or check applications, etc. being annoying is not being respectful and will do nothing but piss the admins off and shove you to the bottom of our metaphorical pile. we all have lives too, so we will get to whatever pressing matters you have as soon as we can. --- if you feel you are being harrassed or treated poorly, do not go and start a fight. walk away and report it to an admin, and we will take care of the problem. if you are the cause of the problem, we will punish you accordingly to the situation. --- we have a strict three strikes policy. first strike, you are warned. second strike, we will delete whatever caused this strike and reset it. three strikes and all of your characters will be banned. --- and finally, the most important rule of them all ... have fun! do it. these rules are the brainchild of DUCKY! of CAUTION 2.0 edited by rexia.
