This large entertainment complex that includes one of the world's largest enclosed baseball stadiums, Tokyo Dome. This important district houses most of Japan's cabinet ministry offices - the heart of Japanese government. And yes, you guessed it. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Head Quarters is located here.

Compared to Harajuku, Yoyogi seems a dramatic contrast. Mainly comprised of residential areas, there's a calm and peaceful air to this district. You'll also find a fair number of private schools, college prepatory schools, technical institutions, businesses, and other commercial offices.

To put it simply, this is Tokyo's red-light district. To many it is called "Sleepless Town" for obvious reasons. Unfortunately, Kabukicho's high crime rates have forced officials to take drastic measures in this area.

Shinjuku Ni-chōme {新宿二丁目}
Also known as Ni-chōme or simply Nichō, this area in the Shinjuku district is probably one of the busiest and noisest in all of Tokyo. And to be perfectly honest, it's home to the highest concentration of gay bars.

This district is most famous for Sensō-ji, the oldest and most significant Buddhist temple in Japan. Another thing to note is their frequent matsuri, or Shinto festivals. The biggest and even the wildest one of the year is the Sanja Matsuri, which takes place on the third weekend of May!
