M4 Droped?, Is Mercury 4 really getting dumpe.......

Is Mercury 4 really getting dumped by their record label?
Since Sony took over BMG Australia last year (2004), Mercury 4 have been droped (amount others), sadly I haven't heard anything from them since then (if you don't count that "someone" commented on about having a new deal). Rumers are:
x They've broken up.
x New record deal and a new name "Detour". Note: I have seen on a site while I was looking, it said along the line of "Detour (aka Mercury 4)", but don't believe that.
x There's going to be a new record deal very soon.

I can't confirm anything else, apart from Mercury 4 have been dropped dur to poor album sales.

i came across the same website where mercury 4 are referred to as 'Detour' as well, however, the site also says that 'detour' are a new bmg signup which isnt possible if they've been dropped by the label and there's also the fact that bmg doesnt exist on its own anymore. To ensure what is on the media design website is correct and that maybe M4 do have a new name, maybe someone should email the media design ppl.

thanks for the link. i emailed them and from what i could gather from the reply, the video that the media design group made for mercury 4 was prior to their signing by BMG. this means that 'detour' was the name of the band before they were signed up, and hence there is still no news on whether they'll be back on the music scene. hope that helps

Ahh, I don't know if this is official but a person said s/he was/is a friend of Kev (like I believe that person) that they still preforming, yeah, it's in this thread, it said Why are peeps saying they broken up? Mercury4 are still around and still performing in pubs and clubs, they just arn't with BMG anymore! Still together as such just not with the same record comp, which they didnt like newaz

just a bit more info on that... basically Detour was the name that the guys went by for qite awhile before BMG signed them like you said, theres actually quite a few photos around the net and stuff from appearances that the group did while they were called DeTour. From what I've read the guys changed their names as it is actually a very common name for boybands.
