Here's where we can talk all about the move, which is 82 mins long. I just got the DVD myself, so I can talk to everyone about anything that happened in the movie. Personally, I think it was pretty good, which is surprising, since I had originally thought it sucked (as I had been told by others). Anyways, on with the discussion.

When it comes to the movie, overall I thought it was pretty good. In my opinion, the movie fulfilled it's job, it made me laugh with witty, cleaver and stupid jokes. If it makes me laugh, it's good.

*nods* Yep, I agree totally. I was told the movie was a waste of time, but when I saw it on Nick when they had the whole "Best Day Ever" thing, I was like, wow, it's actually pretty good. So I went and got the DVD. tongue.gif

One of my favourite parts was when SpongeBob and Patrick got "drunk" on ice cream and SpongeBob says, "This one goes out to my two best friends... Patrick... and this big peanut guy." laugh.gif But I'd hafta say my absolute fave part was the hard rock version of the Goofy Goober song. That was awesome. happy.gif

My favourite bit in the Spongebob movie would be the whole "Now that we're men" segment, and the thug tug bit smile.gif I don't think I've ever laughed so much at a film.. ever. biggrin.gif

Oh yeah, that part where SpongeBob and Patrick had the grass blades for moustaches... lol. laugh.gif I liked it when that big buff guy at the Thug Tug was going around and actually singing some of the Goofy Goobers song. Funny. biggrin.gif

If you liked it enough, you should get the DVD. I got mine for like $10 used, so I'm sure you could get it cheap, too. happy.gif

can I move off topic just a tad and express how much I disliked them making SB voice a higher pitch in the more recent eps. I thought his voice was fine but from what I heard it was changed by the VA because they wanted it to sound more kid like.

Well, this can actually go in the episode discussion thread, but I'll go ahead and say that I notised after the CN made "My Gym Partner's a Monkey", in which Tom Kenny does the money with a voice like SpongeBob, but higher-pitched, that for SBSP, SpongeBob's voice got higher-pitched, so there is a possibility that the CN show could have something to do with it, too. I think it actually makes him sound even more gay, and he's already pretty gay.

Hmm I thought he sounded a bit too high in the movie as well. I guess that is why I posted it in the movie thread in the first place but ya I can move it down to the regular thread too. Now that I think about it I think I forgot to mention all of that in the first place.

Ah, it's okay. smile.gif At least we're getting some traffic in here, which is always good. His voice was kinda higher in the movie, but it wasn't that notisable till sometime after the movie, when "My Gym Partner's a Monkey" first aired. That's when I really notised the change in voice. (no, I don't watch that monkey show; I just happened to hear a few commercials, so that's how I knew)

Well isn't Spongebob supposed to be an adult? Why do they portray him as a kid? BTW, the movie is okay.

They are trying to portray him as more child-like to appeal to the kids, since Nick's target audience is 2-12-yr-olds. I think it's stoopid myself cause SpongeBob's an adult, and was pulling off the whole "I'm an adult but I can act kinda childish if I want" thing quite nicely before they madde him even more childish and now even gay.
