OFFICIAL: Fiorentina Sign Cristiano Zanetti From Juventus
The veteran midfielder has left Turin for Florence...

Fiorentina have confirmed on their official website that they have signed Juventus midfielder Cristiano Zanetti..

This follows remarks from Zanetti's agent, Carlo Pallavicino, earlier this morning where he confirmed that a deal had been done.

“Fiorentina have got him. The two clubs have an agreement, so does the player," Pallavicino told Violanews.

“I can say this is a good signing for the Tuscans, seeing as I am certain Cristiano is 100 per cent fit and can give a big hand to the Viola.”

The 32-year-old Zanetti, who started his career with the Viola, returns to the Artemio Franchi for a fee of around €2 million and is believed to have signed a three-year deal.

Varying media reports in Italy suggest that the former Italy international will pen a pay-as-you-play deal with the Champions League contenders, and he will be registered by Fiorentina to play in the play-off round against Sporting next week.

stupid decision
i wish we kick out poulsen instead
zanetti is far more effective than that blonde

Zanetti:Juve lied about me

Fiorentina signing Cristiano Zanetti blasted Alessio Secco’s “absurd lies. Juventus had no intention of renewing my contract. They lacked respect.”

The midfielder completed a surprise transfer to the Stadio Artemio Franchi and director of sport Alessio Secco suggested yesterday that it was their last chance to cash in on the veteran.

“Let us not say absurd things, this story needs to be explained properly. I took into account Juve’s behaviour towards me and looked around at my options,” Zanetti told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“They never had any intention of renewing my contract and I was the only player there with a year left to run on his deal.

“They lacked respect. I heard Secco saying some things that I really must rebut. He claimed I had asked for a first team place, but I have never in my life requested such a thing.

“My guarantees are hard work on the pitch. Secco said I demanded a three-year contract, which is another absurd lie.

“How could I request a three-year deal when we never even discussed my contract? I didn’t speak to Secco at all.”

The Bianconeri director also noted that selling Zanetti for £1m was a bargain, considering he had so many injury problems.

“I don’t think I was the only one to be injured at Juventus in the last year,” retaliated the 32-year-old.

“If that was the problem, they could have offered me a one-year pay-as-you-play contract.”

Instead he penned a two-year deal with Fiorentina and the option for a third, returning to the club where he started his career.

“I feel absolutely fine. A year ago people acted as if I was the only one with trouble. Instead as the months went on we all got injured.

“I was very angry, but now I feel better. This matter is over for me. I am happy, very happy, to be at Fiorentina.

“I would never have said no to Fiorentina, as they know how to treat people. That’s enough for me.”

now i love secco even more!! he is becoming the new moggi!! this is how u should act if u wanna become a transfer guru!!

"i dont believe that the juventus directors are so stupid as to buy players who wont make them win." - Michel PLatini, taken from Football Weekly, issue 66.

RUMOURS
1. Molinaro leaving to Napoli for 4 mil (dream come true).
2. Due to disappointment of the Juventus full back performances during pre-season, the board has realise the season fight for the Scudetto will be jeopardised by them. Thus Secco has set his sights on a cut-priced unsettled Fabio Grosso and the youngster Rafinha.

TRUTH
1. Molinaro is looking to leave. 5 years ago he was a promising youngster for Juve. We don't see him as a world class left back yet. Pressure is overwhelming. Its understanding. If he does leave, we need a replacement.
2. Rafinha agent was at Juve - Chievo match. When he was interviewed, he declined to comment. I stay hopeful... :D

10m for both Rafinha and Grosso and it'll be the most perfect Mercato we've had in ages.
