Jessica & Brody | You Found Me Board Rules & Guidelines Revised July 5, 2009 You MUSTREAD & REPLY to view the whole board. You need 2 posts to be able to see all of You Found Me, and one of them is replying to the rules so Amy & I know you have read them, and most importantly UNDERSTOOD them!
At the bottom of this post, there will be links to threads, such as how to post, viewing the whole board, affiliation request and a thread with a list of the staff members of this board.
GENERAL RULES
>No Bashing of and or Bree/Jessica OR Mark/Brody! This is dedicated to Jody/Bree/Mark fans, so if you feel the need to bash, what the hell are you doing here?
>No Poster Bashing. Do not bash anyone on this Forum. Let's keep this place friendly, respectful and peaceful. Attacks on a fellow poster or anything of that sort will not be tolerated and could result in you being suspended/banned or your account deleted.
>No Fanbase Bashing. We all like who we like and don’t like who we don’t like, there is no need to bash a fanbase for any reason. We might get mad at times, but we should still at least try to be the bigger person, and not attack them, like they do us. You can hate and bash a character or couple all you want. But try and refrain from attacking the actual people that like them.
>When bashing a couple or character, please only do it in the appropriate forum. Which for bashing and ranting, would be the Rant Room.
>Try to be involved. I understand people like to lurk. But we don't bite LOL, and would love for you to contribute to the board.
>Do not type in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. On the internet it's considered shouting, and also for some people it's difficult to read. Only use it when the emphasis is necessary.
>Do not change the colors of the letters in your post. Certain colors are hard to read, and others might hurt people's eyes. So just leave it as default.
>Keep bad language to a minimum, and put a * in the middle of the word. Depending on how big the word is, then post 2 or 3 *.
>When discussing the lives of the actors, actresses, writers etc. of OLTL, please try to keep it to a minimum. Remember there is such a thing as crossing the line, and I will let you know if you've done so. They deserve there privacy too. If it's something that's been announced publicly, then discuss it. Something like, so and so is having a baby, or is engaged is fine.
>No spamming, posting porn sites or advertising on this board whatsoever! If you do that, your thread and your account is being deleted no questions asked.
>Do not join under more then one account. That is pointless. If you want to change your username then PM me and I will do it for you, but don’t join the site again.
>NEWS & UPDATES! Make sure to check the News and Updates forum frequently to keep up to date on the latest regarding the site. Also check the "Latest News" box under the Welcome Banner as well. If it's something worth mentioning I will announce it either in the forum, or the latest news box, or both. But make sure to check before automatically PM'ing me or emailing me.
EPISODE DISCUSSIONS
>Format for posting a new thread in the EPISODE DISCUSSIONS forum is:"MONTH/DAY/YEAR Discussion" For example: "5/7/09 Discussion.
>WARNING: Remember that spoilers about that day's scenes will be mentioned in these threads, because the discussion of that day would have taken place. So enter at your own free will.
HOWEVER:DO NOT POST SPOILERS OF THE SHOW IN THE EPISODE DISCUSSION THREADS. The only "spoilers" that will be mentioned is what happened that day, but do NOT post future happenings of the show in these threads, since some people choose to be spoilers free! If you do, your post will be edited and in it's place will be a post from either Amy, myself, or another staff member reminding you not to do so.
>Respect the opinions of others. Although you may not agree with what they have to say, try to keep an open mind.
>PUT IN BOLD anything related to Jessica/Brody if providing a recap of an entire segment (this relates more to live discussions).
>Please make sure a topic for that day hasn't already been started before you start yours. We don't want more then one thread for one day. If that happens then just continue to post in one or the other, and we'll merge the 2 topics. But try to stray away from this. It's more convenient for us and for you as well, not to mention it keeps the board more organized.
RODI'S BAR GUIDELINES
Overall this is a very relaxed area of the board, but just wanted to make a few things clear. This is basically the free chat forum.
>RESPECT. It's as simple as that. If you want it, you have to show it. If you run into problems with members, Amy or myself; and don't try to take care of things yourselves. Although this is a laid-back area of the board, the respect still applies.
>Threads aren't started daily, just when the previous one gets to be too big. If it gets to like 150+ pages, then start a new one.
>When you start one name it for ex: Rodi's # (whatever number the next thread would be).
>"Special Chats" sub-forum. This is reserved for special events chats. Like "parties" thrown by the board, Emmy's chats, special occasions and so forth. Topics are only started by a staff member.
>HAVE FUN. & ENJOY! :toast:
HOW TO POST LINKS
>If you're promoting your site here YOU MUST post a link to YFM on your board! Or we'll delete your post. YOU MUST LINK BACK.
>DO NOT BUMP YOUR TOPICS OR REPOST ADVERTISING THE SAME BOARD. If anyone does your entire thread will be deleted, and you won't be able to post links for a week
POSTING ON THE SITE
>QUOTING. Do not quote the first post in a topic when replying. That's pointless! Just add a reply! When you do quote, make sure it's because you're replying to someone specifically, and take out the part of the quote that's irrelevant. It takes up too much space when you use the ENTIRE quote. So take out the part of the quote you don't need, and leave the part you are actually replying too. Do NOT quote the post above yours, that just takes up space. You can use this sign "^^" or just reply to their username... for EX:... "Yeah Gaby, I agree because..."
>When posting a new topic, make sure to do it in the appropriate fourm! If it's about Brody specifically, then do it in the Brody Lovett Forum, if it's about Jessica specifically then do it in the Jessica Brennan forum. If it's about OLTL in general, do it in the One Life to Live Forum. If it's about Jody, then do it in Jessica & Brody forum. Post in the forum that fits best!
HOW TO POST SPOILERS
>Post all spoilers in the spoiler thread ONLY! Same goes for speculations. If it's a promo, it also goes in the spoiler section, not video. Anything that sets forth what will happen on the show needs to be in the spoiler forum.
>If your starting a regular discussion thread, and spoilers might be mentioned, say so in your thread, so people know not to enter, if they don’t want to be spoiled.
>On the first of every month, give or take a few days, either myself or a mod, will start 2 threads and pin them. One for posting the actual spoilers and one for discussing them, as well as one for promos & pics.
>You post the spoilers only in the thread titled for ex: "October 2008 Spoilers" then, go into the discussion thread to post your thoughts, comments, questions etc. For the promos & pics thread however, discussion is allowed in the same thread. There will not be another thread for discussion.
>When posting the spoilers make sure to state your source, and a link back to the site you got them from. Then if any spoilers involve Jody, or have something to do with their storyline, put it in bold. That way if people only care about the Jody spoilers, it'll be easier to find, since they will stand out, and they wouldn't have to read through everything.
>When the month starts to come to an end, the 3 threads will be un-pinned, and closed, and 3 new threads will start for the following month.
SIGNATURE GUIDELINES
>Only 2 banners per signature. It's easier for everyone especially the ones with slower internet connections, who for them will take forever to load. Please be considerate and keep it to two banners.
>Keep your banners to a reasonable size. If they are too long then they stretch the page and people have to scroll sideways to read the posts, which is annoying. So maximum length is 600 pixels to banner makers and the ones who use them in your signature. Make sure it doesn’t stretch the page in anyways, or else it'll be too big and you'll need to remove it. Especially if it stretches the banner at the top, then you know for sure it's too big.
>Animated Banners or Avatars. Keep the animations to a maximum of ONE. That means either one animated banner OR avatar. Not both! That way everyone can browse through the posts easily.
>A row of avatars in your signature is also considered a banner so don’t try and cheat the system. Two rows of avatars is the max. you can have if you choose to do that. Two rows of avi's is considered two banners, so that's all you'll be able to have.
>Do NOT demand the fanart makers! They work hard and have other priorities. It's not their job to HAVE to fill out your requests. So be patient! I haven't seen much of "demanding" but just thought to put it out their for further notice.
>CREDITING! When using banners/avatars etc, in your signature on this site or ANY OTHER SITE, make sure to give proper credit! They work very hard with filling out requests and providing snaggables and the least you can do is give them credit! So make sure to do so!
>NO HOTLINKING PERIOD! That's when someone posts their banners/icons, and instead of saving the image to your computer and uploading it to YOUR OWN SERVER, you just use their account/URL to post their images for your signature or icon. That steals & drains their bandwidth and is not allowed at YFM! When useing ANYTHING ON THIS BOARD OR ANY OTHER BOARD, save it to your computer, and UPLOAD IT TO YOUR OWN SERVER!
If anyone is caught hotlinking or not crediting or is reported to be doing this, you will get, ONE WARNING, if you continue to do this, or don't listen to our first warning, your account will be suspended for 2 days.
Also as soon as it is reported that you are hotlinking or not crediting, we will remove your signature for you, no questions asked!
NOTE: Banner/Icon/Wallpaper makers, if you see your work being used without credit or is being hotlinked, please feel free to report this person by PM'ing me, and I will take care of it ASAP! Thanks!
FAN FICTION GUIDELINES
>There will now be only one thread for all chapter or chapters. This means update all your chapters for your story from beginning to end in ONE thread. To help your readers, so they can know when you've updated, every time you do, change your title, for EX: Time after Time (Chapter 7 added). Also included in this thread will be readers feedback.
>There will be 2 threads, one to let us know when you start & update a fiction and one to let us know when you've completed one that you need to post letting us know when you've updated your fanfiction and when you've finished. The threads are located under the FanFic section and titled "FanFic Updated' & "FanFic Completed". Please make sure to post when you have updated/finished your story so WE KNOW when to archive the latest and move it to the completed stories if you've finished. Just post in the thread for EX: Time after Time Chapter 9 added/updated or Time after Time finished, with a link to topic!
>If your posting a story that's already completed, either it's a one shot or a story you've posted somewhere else, and are reposting here completed DO NOT post it in the completed forum. The FAN FICTION ARCHIVER will move it there. Post it where all the stories go, then update us letting us know that it's completed, and then it'll be moved.
>The board will have an "ARCHIVES" section where a moderator will post all fiction MINUS the feedback in one thread so it will read like a book. This section will be a "read-only" section. You will not be able to leave any feedback. This will be a convenient way for current and future members to catch up on all of our fan fiction written by our wonderful writers. As the board grows so will our members and the contribution to the fiction section.
>There will be a ( c) in the title of the stories in the Archives that have been completed.
>Plagerism is a big NO NO! If you didn’t write it, don’t say you did! Appropriate actions will be taken if you are found guilty of doing this act! If you are going to post someone' else's story here, make sure you have the writers permission first!
>REMEMBER: Everytime time you start a fanfic, in the first post, to have the following...
CODE
[B]Title:[/B] [B]Author:[/B] [B]Summary:[/B] [B]Rating:[/B] [B]Disclaimer:[/B] [B]Author Notes:[/B] (optional, if you want to add anything else)
CLIP GUIDELINES
>The clips are provided by Lisa (coffeeisntbreakfast) do NOT post the clips provided for the board on youtube or any other site, without her permission.
>YOU MUST CREDIT: If using in fan videos the credits MUST BE: “Clips thanks to Lisa at You Found Me” and a link back to the board. Or something a long those lines. But you must put Lisa, You Found Me, and a link back to the board in your credits [either in the credits of the videos, or the info description box, or both, BUT AT LEAST ONE OR THE OTHER]. HOWEVER, remember they may be only used in fan videos, YOU MAY NOT RE-POST THE CLIPS THEMSELVES ANYWHERE!!
>SAY THANK YOU! Seriously people, is it really that hard to just say THANKS! Clipping is not as easy as it seems, especially when someone has other responsibilities, so the least you can do is take the time and say "Thank you Lisa!" She's choosing to do this for You Found Me and Jody fans, and she deserves appreciation for her hard work!!! So don't forget to SAY THANK YOU!
>There will be 2 threads, one for Dead Links, post in there if the link to the scene is dead, broken or whatever. So Lisa can fix it, ON HER OWN TIME. She's busy and has a life, although she will be aware of the problem that doesn't mean that she has the time to do it right then in there, but she'll take care of it as soon as she can. The other titled "What day is that from?", if you're looking for a clip but don't know the date or what not, post in that thread a description then either Lisa, myself, or anyone who wants to, if they know, will let you know the date that scene was from.
>Every member of the board has access to the cips- however if we notice people are breaking the guidelines or abusing this privilage, then we will take necessary action.
Again, Lisa is providing Jody clips, but if you want to share your clips of another couple or OLTL in general, then please follow the rules below.
FOLLOW THESE RULES IF YOU'RE POSTING CLIPS OF OLTL IN GENERAL OR OTHER OLTL COUPLES.
>If you are going to post clips of other OLTL couples or OLTL in general, PM ME FIRST! So I can create a section titled "Other OLTL Clips" so the board is organized!! If the forum happens to already exsist, then just go ahead and post your clips in the "Other OLTL Clips" forum.
>If you’re using clips from another site, and posting them here, make sure you have there permission and credit them in your post. Also provide a link back to there site. If the clips are truly your own, then in your thread remind people to give you credit! And if you want the board credit as well.
>If you have a lot of clips you want to share then PLEASE UPDATE ALL OF YOUR CLIPS IN ONE THREAD! It makes the board less cluttered and more organized.
>The above rules for Jody clips still apply to the Other OLTL Clips, SAY THANKS and GIVE CREDIT.
RANT ROOM GUIDELINES
>First, the bashing of Jessica and or Brody separately or as a couple will not be tolerated. You can voice your displeasure over an action they did or their storyline, but bashing of them is not acceptable.
>NO fanbase bashing either. Please don't bring fan base wars to You Found Me. There might be Jody fans who like Jessica and Brody with other people. So please be respectful of the fanbase and not attack them. I know you might feel the need to Rant about something you read on another board but please keep it about OLTL. Not about other fans or what they think.
>NO ACTOR BASHING. No bashing of Bree and or Mark. No bashing of ANY other actor either. They are not there characters, please remember that.
>If you see a topic you do not like or know will make you angry, then just SKIP it. People use this forum to let off steam. We all have different opinions, and need to respect what others think. Don't jump in and tell them that they are wrong etc.
>Ranting about each other WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! Ranting about fellow members or the board, is un-acceptable. Same goes for ranting about someone else on another board.
JESSICA & BRODY HATERS Sadly there are people that will join just to bash, or lurk around and report to other fanbase boards. So if you find a member suspicious, or if they posted a post that breaks the board rules, especially a bashing post, then report it, and I will take care of anything and everything as soon as possible.
Also report anyone that posts advertising, spam or porn sites!
Note to the haters: If you don’t like Brody and Jessica what are you doing on this site? Do you have nothing better to do?

REPLY STATING THAT YOU HAVE READ & UNDERSTOOD THE RULES & GUIDELINES OF YOU FOUND ME. SO THAT WE KNOW YOU HAVE.
We reserve the right to add, delete, and or change the Rules & Guidelines of this board at any given time if the occasion calls for it!
Do not reply twice to this topic for any reason. If you need a 2nd post to view the whole board, there are plenty of topics to do so in. Again, DO NOT reply twice in this topic for any reason whatsoever!
If you have are in need of any assistance, please feel free to PM me or Amy [sugarhighx3] and we will try our best to help you.
However, before you ask for help, from anyone, make sure you truly have READ & UNDERSTOOD the Rules & Guidelines of YFM. I find it funny that people tend to ask or not understand what has already been covered in this post. So maybe, just maybe, if you actually truly took the time to READ the Rules/Guidelines like you're supposed to, you wouldn't need to ask them in the first place because you would've already UNDERSTOOD them, like you say you did when you replied "Read & Understood". People do that, yet they still break the guidelines which clearly proves you haven't read them, and surely not understood them. Please just save everyone the trouble, and just READ & UNDERSTAND THEM!
We're not trying to make things difficult, we just want the board to run as smoothly as possible. You may think that it's so much Rules/Guidelines to follow, but trust me in the long run it's definitely worth it. It helps keep the board organized and running as best as possible. Of course sometimes we'll run into problems here and there, but that's why the Rules & Guidelines are here, to help keep all problems to a minimum!
