Hi
This might be a silly question. I have only recently got into the hobby and have picked beastman as my first army, and also read through the rule book. There is a section called Allied Armies, I want to do my Beastman Army that has an allegiance with Tzeentch now i understand that some people do this by painting parts on the beastman with colours corresponding two which Chaos power they have chosen, but is there anything stoping me from adding a few pink horrors or flamers to my army? Many thanks Guys A Noob |

As long as your opponent doesnt mind you having an allied army, I can't see a problem with that...
Other than that, your themed army could have horrors/screamers/flamers as filler? Harpies could be Ungor surfing discs... I love it! -------------------- |

In general, most games are played only using one army book.

Fun games can be played however you like - I'd play against a solid themed army any time.

Yes, and usually when there is an alliance it is between two different players combining their personal forces, each of which comes from a single army book. In any kind of tournament/competitive environment you will be expected to work within the confines of a single book. This stops players from cherry-picking the best aspects from a number of books. In a friendly environment, your opponents may let you include some allies. -------------------- "Chance favors only the prepared mind" - Louis Pasteur

Putting themed mutations is also an option.

I have decided to drop the allied troops at this time in favour of going with a beastman army with an allegiance to Khorne.
Mainly because i have done some test models and beastman with blue (as Tzeentch was my chosen God) doesn't really suit beastman they look like ugly hairy high elves plus Khorne favours the beastman mentality more, being a close combat orientated force. Blood for the blood God |

+1 I third that! I have a friend of mine that's working on an army of Araby. He scanned the PDF file from the internet, got excited and has been on it for quite sometime (must be more than a year now). The WIP I've seen till now is superb and I'd be more than happy to play against him once he's finished... |

While khorngors can look really cool it's wrong to say that they fit better than tzaangors. They're both established in the background, and if you suddenly wake up with hooves and a bird face you can be sure that you have changed. We have a number of cool Tzeentch armies here on the Herdstone, for example the one belonging to decker_cky. -------------------- Eight Chicky Bits, is that a Chicky Byte?

To be fair, if I suddenly woke up with hooves and a bird face, I'd change the brand of beer I was drinking and make sure I went to different night clubs when looking for a potential date.

Mr T is the new Nostradamus. Years before the new book was even released, he advised Beastmen modellers everywhere to abandon their jaberslythe modelling projects in protest at the new rules set with the eerily prophetic warning "Quit your Jibber Jabber". Spooky. |

Agreed i checked out Decker cky Blog the blue looks good what i done wrong was paint the beastman normal browns and painted the belts and leather bits blue and I didn't like it. So then on my second mini i did Khorne colours and thought it was much better. Once i figured it out i will post some pics up. |

I fixed your broken link.
![]() I think it looks good in general, but the close up reveals a few details you missed. -------------------- Eight Chicky Bits, is that a Chicky Byte?
