I was just wondering what everyone's schemes are for gor or ungor skin now that GW have messed all the colours up.

What do the combos for flesh and tanned flesh look like? (2 thirds of the way down)

Has anyone got any better ideas?

All ideas appreciated!

I go with a dark brown skin, flesh around the snout, and gray fur/hair. Red cloth.

I did one in an alternate scheme:

Chaos...how do I say this? You are a paint God. We just can't do what you can do.

Back to the point- the new paints haven't changed the way I've been doing my colour scheme at all. In fact, get ready for this, I love the new paints. I don't have to mix my mid-colours anymore and some of GW's painting guides have helped me out.

My Gors are painted dark brown, black washed, and then drybrushed with a lighter brown. Ungors are painted using a pallid skin technique from a White Dwarf (I think April's issue). Go to a Hobby Centre and try out the new paints with an old model. You might get a different perspective on Beast flesh.

I wish I could paint eyes. other than bad moon yellow and red ink coffee.gif

ahem,.. I think most people feel darker browns work well with Beastmen. I like Bestial Brown as a skin base myself and Scorched for the fun.

Funny, my game color ultra marine blue with a "strong tone" AP ink wash seems almost exactly the same as it was before GW messed with their paints!

I've done the desert sand primer with AP Dip that works well enough for the table. Then again my models look like a 3 year old's crayon drawing of a cat compared to Chaos MD's stuff.

Nah, just practice. That is what I did/do.

I didn't post to make anyone sad, just showing the color combos I like.

The new skrag brown with scorched brown as fur looks good to me. I also use the new doombull brown and scorched brown as fur.

Thanks for your suggestions everyone. I waiting on a few of the new paints arriving in the mail (bestigor and ungor flesh among others) so I'm gonna try a few different combos then. I've just been using Tallarn Flesh, Ogryn Flesh, Tallarn Flesh, Elf Flesh up to now and they're looking ok.
