EDIT: 600 points

so for my first run with my beastmen a friend and i are going to play a low point, non magic battle. i agreed to this stipulation, but im unsure how hindered his or my army may be because of this rule. but since we are both new it seemed like something fun to try. learning fielding and maneuvering abilities is our purpose. he recently picked up the lizardmen and just finished putting some together.
so here goes my first preplanned army list involving no magic.

Raiders x5
Raiders x5
Gor Herd x19 - full command, AHW
Wargor - HA, GW, Gnarled Hide, Gouge Tusks, Uncanny Senses - going in with the gors
Minotaurs x3 - GW's x3

comes to a total of 537.
im hoping that between my mino's and my gor heard with the wargor, theres little he could throw at me that i shouldnt be able to squash.

being new and this only being my second game, please let me know if i messed up some where along the lines of unit amount allotments or just plain suggestions!

thanks!

Not a bad little army for a small game. I would make a couple of changes to the wargor, just to maximize his survivability. I would go for this build:

Wargor, HA, Shield, Gnarled Hide, Ramhorn helm, Sword of Might. 1+ armor save and 6+ parry save. Plus if anyone actually tries to attack he will be gaining more attacks from the ramhorn helm, all at strength 5.

I would also go for extra hand weapons or shields on the minos. Because you are playing against lizardmen, the minos will actually get to strike first if you don't give them GWs and that could be important seeing as you only have three of them.

Finally, I would get rid of one of the units of raiders to strengthen the gors a bit. Get them up to 24 or 25 so they can grind against saurus, who don't run away too easily.

my friend just gave me a ring and he now wants to play with 600, says hes got tricks up his sleeve.. lets see em i say! which im fine with raising the point limit, cause it lets me make the changes you suggested and i can keep the second set of raiders, bumping them up to 6 in both groups, bringing the gor herd up to 24, and give the minos shields.

Raiders x6
Raiders x6
Wargor - shield, HA, gnarled hide, ramhorn helm, sword of might
Gor Herd x24 - full command, AHW
Minotaurs x3 - shields

bringing me to 597.
im happy with the list. biggrin.gif

Add a musician to one of the raider units - might as well use every possible point! Otherwise looks good to go. His tricks will probably be to run around with loads of sinks shooting their blowpipes at stuff *sigh*. Try and screen against them with your ungors, and get into combat asap. Challenge any character he has (probably a scar-vet seeing as you're doing no magic) with your wargor - that guy should tear through anything he can throw at you at this points level.
