My favorite magic item is crown of command.

Others in no particular order:
Talisman of preservation
Dragonhelm
Sword of anti-heroes
Beastbanner
Dispel scroll
Armour of destiny
The steel claws
Jagged dagger

This is all with regards to a beastman army, ofcourse.

PS. my group has a cap of 3 extra PD or DD so herdstone is out.

That's silly, do they have a limit of 1 warshrine per army or no dark elves allowed?
Why gimp beastmen, they don't deserve it.

Hmmm. Good question!

Love the imagery, effects of and modelling possibilities for the Herdstone Shard, but I've rarely used it in games. So the Chalice of Dark Rain gets my vote for the handy game effect, the nice fluff and the psychological impact it has on the Dark Elf and Dwarf armies I often fight.

Now if I was just allowed to give it to Slugtongue to carry, that would totally freak them out! smile.gif

The beast banner! I think it makes the single biggest difference to my army, transforming my giant gor horde from shrug.gif into run.gif .

The Axe of men. Used it on a doombull with savage beast. Lopped a Blender vampire's head off 3 times over. Mostly I love the fluff.

Beast banner or herdstone shard. Both are right at the core of what makes the beastmen army tick.

So many good beastmen choices....

The beast banner is a game changer for that it gets the nod.

Fluff wise the Hagtree Fetish, I could just see a shaman making wild gestures and shakin it while pointing at people.

Like the image of the steel claws as well.
