I've been away from fantasy since shortly after 8th came out when the local action kind of dried up. I'm getting back in to things now, and am wanting to use some of these Minotaurs I have piled around!

I used to play a Doombull-led all Mino army long ago...I like Minotaurs, what can I say? I sure do miss being able to make them Core!

Anyway, I've been lurking here and other places and learning from experiences with my own other army (VC), and am hoping that something like this will work:

Great Bray-Shaman
Level 4; xtra hand weapon; Jagged Dagger; Talisman of "Please Save Me 4+ Ward!"; Lore of Shadow

Doombull
Shield; Armour of Fortune; Sword of Might; Many-limbed Fiend

Wargor
Battle Standard Bearer; The Beast Banner; Heavy Armour; Shield; Gnarled Hide

6 units of 5 Ungor Raiders

44 Ungor
Standard, Musician

38 Gor
Standard, Musician, XHW

40 Gor
Standard, Musician, XHW

1 Razorgor

1 Razorgor

5 Harpies

7 Minotaurs
Great Weapons

2500

The Doombull of course goes with the Minos, and the GBS and BSB go in the smaller Gor horde.

The Ungor go 5-wide and try to stay steadfast. By my math-hammer they stay steadfast for two combat round against the really mean units (gut-stars, khorne halberd warriors, etc). I'd hope to force a charge with them and have minos hit flank.

The massive number of Raiders is to ensure winning deployment and to have a lot of things to flee to tie up the enemy...since they can only redirect once, I can stack two Raiders in front of them, flee both, and leave them stranded in front of me. I can't see reducing this number any, as I think this number is required for this finesse to work.

I don't know if the Gor unit without the Beast Banner will be effective...I can't assume I'll get a spell that will help them cast. Perhaps replace them with smaller Bestigor unit? I think I can get 25 for same cost, not sure that's enough...

I'd like to have Scout on the Harpies, but can live without. I'd also like to have a Champion in the Gor unit with the characters.

Any input is greatly appreciated! thumbsup.gif

I love my Bestigors but in a Mino list I don't think they have a place. Having 25 isn't going to do a great deal of anything-- that's what the Minos are there for (om nom nom)! The harpies don't jive with me. Some people love them but you've got piggies to go as hunting dogs for wizards and warmachines. Take them out and add full commands to your Core units.

The ungor love is a nice touch.

I'd say drop 1 gor horde to 20 and bump up the other to 50 and add your foe render.
You could put the blackened plate on the mino champ.
One other thing is your GBS needs a magic weapon to rack up any potential kills/ dice

I like the harpies. The few extra inches compare to the razor gors is really helpful in getting out there. Not sure on the % but rounding the ungor block down to 40 you can just about transform one of those raiders into another group of harpies. You can always use them like the ungor road blocks (albeit faster ones) or flying diverters if needed but if your faced with war-machine hell, 2 units of flyers is better than one unit of flyers.

You seem somewhat light on magic so I'm not sure the dagger has as much synergy as as with a herd-stone build. I second the use of blackened plate. Alternatively the talisman that give MR might be useful to give those Minotaurs some magic missile protection. I also like additional hand weapons on minos over great weapons currently.

Some people just run their minos with no weapons upgrades to keep them cheap; that would buy you another razorgor!

Also, many-limbed fiend on DB might be overkill, as he's likely to max out at 10A from the stack frenzy halfway through the game

If you're just using a single caster, I'd probably go Lore of Beasts instead of Shadows.
