Great frog!!! Love the slimy effects, and your greens are very realistic. Well done, as usual thumbsup.gif

Thanks very much smile.gif

I haven't being doing a heck of a lot of painting lately. A bit of Flames of War, odds and ends as well as the Transformation of Kadon model.

I did do a couple Grot Krew for my Lobbas here:

The Lobbas are Forge World Krieg artillery and I painted them the same way as my Killa Kan. All thanks to Sexy Beast for the green recipe.

Happy painting!

Thanks!

Had a bit of time last night to fart around with some painting (still working on my Mtn Chimera coffee.gif ).

I am toying with speed painting more Beastmen. This guy took about an hour to do, well longer as i had to varnish the model and glue grass on the base. I am pretty sure I can get it down to about 40 minutes (which is my goal).

However does it look good enough for table top?

Up close it's not as good as a traditional layer/highlight method but I am about to paint another 9 more Raiders then 40 more Ungor Herd. Being able to paint 50 Ungors in 50 hours is appealing after doing the first 150+ Beastmen in my army.

Anyways happy painting!

Is it good enough for tabletop?? Pfft, hell yes!
My mind boggles as to how you could have done that in an hour.
I do like the grey fur too, very nice thumbsup.gif

Lovely weathering on those grots, and I always dig your greens.
Ungor looks nice, it'd be interesting to see a full unit smile.gif

+1 to what mrtn said. Do you find it worthwhile varnishing plastics by the way? My previous experience with spray on varnish is that it changes my colours more than I would like and with plastic not really chipping I tend to only varnish my metals.

Thanks kindly guys, you might be surprised at the (quantity of) negative comments I hear in person about my painting blink.gif

The colour changes a little but in my past experience varnish is always worth it.

FIrst i do a thinned coat of Golden Acrylic Gloss (on plastic troopers get it really thin, like thinned out skim milk) then a coat of Testors Dullcoate.

That doesn't change it too much and I find it is necessary. Mostly as people tend to toss dice in a d-bag manner which knocks over my models or can chip them. Also both varnishes avoids the thin white dusting/antiquing effect.

Happy painting!

So just to recap, they insult your painting and then hurl dice at it?

Herdstone shaped beat stick required I'm thinking. smile.gif

They are just jealous of the uber-nice painted minis Pop. Keep up the great work.

Thanks guys.

Well finally finished my anniversary present (to myself). It was a lesson in how to use an airbrush. At one point black ink splattered onto the wing and I did my best to remove it except I destroyed some freehand work. Also my normal technique for photographing models went out the window with something this large. All good fun.

Still have to glue some grass, matte varnish it then finish the water effects but overall I'm very happy.

Wow, nice work on the bommer.
Question, what airbrush - compressor do you use? (looking at getting myself one in the near future)

thanks.

I have a Paasche and I think matching compressor. It was a Christmas gift so I recommend you research them more than what I have to offer. It is good but I really don't know anything about them.
