Not 100% on this being the correct forum, but I'm sure that someone will redirect me to the proper one in that case.
So anyway, I've been re-reading the Beastmen book of late, and I found it really cool that they describe regions of the Old World that have certain tendencies in their armies. That then got me thinking, what do people think of as the "home region" for their Beastmen? Mine are definitely from the Forest of Arden - it's described as a place crawling with Bestigors, so that fits my army well. Additionally, it's reflected in my paint scheme as I have deemed that they've been looting gear from the Bretonnian knights they've been killing (so they wear tattered blue clothing and the like). What do you think? -------------------- "The best defense is a good offense." -Gen. George S. Patton

It's not the right forum, we have a dedicated Background forum, I'll move the thread in a sec.
My beastmen were first from the Southlands, but with the inclusion of demonic dogs I now think it would be more fitting if they came from the Eastern Steppes, so that's my current view of them. If you look in the Beasts of Chaos book there's a map of "Beastmen outside the Old World", pretty interesting, and it shows that they're almost everywhere. They also mention other types of beastmen, like tigermen in Ind, apemen in the Southlands and troglodytes in Naggaroth. -------------------- Eight Chicky Bits, is that a Chicky Byte?

Mine are from Reikwald, the place known for huge Ungor tribes, corrupt Empire nobles making pacts with Beastmen and asylum inhabitants turning to cannibalism and joining Beastmen herds... Actually, my army has a 52 strong block of Ungors which has about half its models made up to look like escaped lunatics. Now I just need a few corrupt cultists to round out the picture... -------------------- Something Wicked - Reikwald Beastmen: (W/L/D) 9/3/1

The Shadow Hunters is from the eastern parts of Averland and Wissenland, and they also have herdstones in the Black Mountains. They find it excellent that the men in black and yellow breed such delicious horses (not that they are much when compared to the mentioned men, of course).

My Doombull, Yarash Goreblade, originates from the minotaur tribes of the Forest of Shadows.
But he wanders around all over the Known World, guided by his blood lust and the strange visions Tzeentch sends him, so he has followers from all over the place. I see him arriving in an area and "recruiting" a new army by eating the local Beastlord...! -------------------- |

Great feedback, folks. And that does sound like a cool army, polaria.

I usually say they dwell in the Bretonnian forests (its name escapes me ;P), but one group is from drakwald (mainly bestigors, chariots and the like) and the others from Albion, partially for a nerdy linguistic/historical experiment
