Well, I have been meaning to start one of these for a while, so here goes for my makeshift battle report blog. I'll try to keep them as detailed as possible. First up, my 4000 massive game vs my brother's Lizards! A detailed 'Ard Boyz batrep shall follow soon as well.

Ok, over the Easter weekend my brother & I decided to do a grand smash'em up battle. No quarter, no restrictions, NO MERCY!
I decided on the following list: Lords:539 GBS: L4 Beast Power Scroll, Stone of Spite - 295pts Beastlord: Talisman of Protection, Ramhorn Helm, Brass Cleaver HA,Shield - 244ish Heroes: 845 BS L2 Shadow, Feedback Scroll - 160pts BS: L2 Shadow, Shard of the Herdstone -160pts BS: L2 Shadow Dispell scroll, Ironcurse Icon, Hagtree Fetish -160pts Wargor HA Crown of Command, Charmed Shield, Warriors Bane, Luckstone - 139pts Wargor BSB Beasts Banner, Gnarled Hide, Many-Limbed, HA & Sh 226pts Core: 1140 pts 40 Gors ahw FC - 345pts 10 Gors - 70pts 40 Ungors std,mus - 209 pts Tuskgor Chariot - 80pts Tuskgor Chariot - 80pts 6 Centigors FC + Ghorros = 326pts 5 Hounds - 30pts Special: 926 pts 58 Bestigors FC Banner of Discipline - 761pts Razorgor - 55pts 10 Harpies - 110 Rare: 550 2x Ghorgon His list: Slann -wth the usual BS Chief with warspear on ancient Saurus guy that made them stubborn 50 Saurus hw & sh 2-3 units of 10 skinks 2 Skrox units with 24-30 skinks and 3 kroxigors 2x3 Terradon units Ancient steg? 50ish TG 1 unit of 2 sallies 2 units of 1 sally Terrain: We had a river running from his deployment zone to fork in front of mine forming a giant "Y" shape with 2 buildings in my zone, 1 in his and a brewery on his right-center of his zone. Deployment: From my left to right, 60 Bestigors with BL & Wargor w/crown; big Gors with BSB and two chariots behind the unit, dogs, harpies, Ungors, Herdstone right at the tip of the V of the river with small gor unit & all BS' in it. Ghorgon, Razorgor, Ghorgon, Centigors. His from my left to right, terradons with unit of 2 Sallies behind, Skrox unit, sally unit, skinks, chief with ancient, big Saurus uni and TG behind them, skrox unit, steg, terradons Scenario: Da Blood Soaked Choppa - we decided to use one of the 'Ard Boyz Scenarios cuz it was just so fun. I gave my gors the +1S/A he gave it to his Saurus. Turn 1, he got first turn. He shuffles up his units, threatening my bestigor unit with a terradon rock drop and his skinks are there to redirect I guess. His saurus moved up, egging on my gors. He ignores my entire right flank of 2 ghorgons, a razorgor and 6 centigors! Magic has him throw away dice on upgraded fire spells. Yes, he went lore of fire for some reason...he didn't get anything off. Shooting didn't have anything in range. My turn, bestigors charge skinks who flee, redirect into skrox who hold. Gors charge skrox but fail. I move harpies over to counter his terradons who look like they want to drop rocks, chariots move up and over to get ready for some counter charges. Hounds move up to an inch away from the saurus, angled so he exposes his flank if he charges them ungors move up to receive an overrun and hold them in place, mage bunker shuffles to take better advantage of distances for spells. Ghorgons & their buddies all charge up the flank, ghorgon trying to angle LoS for a charge on his stegadon. Magic phase I get 12, IF a -1 T hex on saurus and IF flock of doom on them, killing one whole model and losing all my PD while killing 6 gors. -.- Combat has me beat the skrox and they roll double 1s to stay Turn 2, he wants to charge my gors with his saurus, but with the steg & hounds in his way, he doesn't have room as he is horde formation. He doesn't charge the hounds. His terradons fly over the gors and drop rocks, he moves the rest of his army around to either shoot the gors or set up a counter charge for the charge from my gors he thinks is coming. He magics, shoots and drops rocks on the gors, killing about 11 or so, they pass panic. Combat has me beat the skrox who flee and escape but I overun and clip the dual sally unit. Turn 3 has him just basically sit there with no idea what to do about the hounds, I slaughter the sallies and overrun into the rallied skrox. He shoots and magics away more gors, we both basically shuffle around for positiooning Turn 4 he finally charges the dogs slaughters them and reforms to face my gors. He blasts the ungors with d3 S4 per rank, forcing them to panic and now can't flank charge the saurus! He shoots and kills one of my shaman that I stupidly left in the open. He leaves my ghorgons open to flank and rearcharge his units! Rocks land on centigors from terradons, killing 2. I miasma and T hex his saurus unit to ws 1 T3, buff the gors with wyldform and proceed to charge them with horded gors and two chariots, rolling almost 30 wounds on his unit! He ends up losing about 20 models and brings my gors down to about 20 models left, still in horde formation. One ghorgon charges the flank of his TG that were 17" away and the other charges the rear of his skrox unit. Bestigors have to reform to 8 wide to get around the building to go after the TG. Both ghorgons tear inot the units, sending bodies flying and I kept forgetting TStomp each time! Turn 5 he charges my gors with his chief on ancient steg, he front and rear charges my centigor with two terradon units and ghorros whoops them, scoring like 7 wounds himself. He magics my bestigors to make them take major damage if they move. Gors roll frenzy for PF check! Insult to injury there. Now, I have S6, 4 attack gors against his WS 1 T3 saurus. I wipe out not only his saurus but his steg as well. He holds with stuibborn. I try to finish him off at this point and crash two chariots into his skrox unit that has the ghorgon in their rear. Kill some but lose a chariot in the exchange. He holds due to stubborn from the brewery. I finish the chief and his saurus character. At this point, its been 5 hours of warhammering and he knows he doesn't have much chance left. We call the game. I lost: A chariot and my L2 shaman and my dogs, 270 points. I killed: Big saurus unit, chief on ancient, skrox unit, dual sally unit, one sallie unit(fled off the table) 2 terradon units, saurus character for a total of 1700ish points. Victory to the Beasts! Afterthoughts: My opponent made a lot of mistakes, like ignoring the right flank with 2 ghorgons, who were just tearing unto his units. He picked a really poor lore IMO for the army he built, but in his defense, he wanted to sit back and shoot & magic me to death. He didn't shoot/blast away the dogs that were in his way and failed to react well to my refused flank deployment. That being said, he hadn't played in months and my list was pretty brutal. MVP: Gors. These guys just freakin rock for only 8 points a model combined with the right hexes/buffs. Gotta love'em Stay tuned for the next episode at the 'Ard Boyz tournament! -------------------- Ungor ninjas are all around us, practicing their deadly art of invisibility.

Ok, I wish I could be more detailed with these, but haven't had much time and its a little tough for me to remember it all. But here it is, my batreps for the 'Ard Boyz tournament at Comixzone.
First, my army: GBS: L4 Shadow Chalice of Dark Rain, Power Scroll, Stone of Spite Beastlord: Crown of Command, Blackened Plate, Talisman of Protection, Shield Slugtongue BS: L1 Shadow, Shard of the Herdstone BS: L1 Dispell scroll, Ironcurse Icon Wargor BSB Beasts Banner, Gnarled Hide, Many-Limbed, HA & Sh 39 Gors ahw FC 10 Gors 40 Ungors std,mus Tuskgor Chariot Tuskgor Chariot 35 Bestigors FC Banner of Discipline 25 Bestigors FC Banner of Eternal Flame - Razorgor - 8 Harpies Round 1 vs Keith's Slaaneshi Daemons: Keith was a really good opponent, and had some seriously sweet models, including his Keeper of Secrets-a huge resin model beautifully painted and sculpted. He had her, a horde unit of bloodletters with a herald bsb carrying the -2 ld banner, a horde of daemonettes, the masque, 2 units of 3 seekers? of slaanesh, 2 units of 5 flamers, that's all I can remember. This was about the worst matchup I could have faced to start. A leadership negating army. Well, I went knowing I would get clobbered, so let's give him a run for his money! Highlights: Terrain was a real pain here, with his two big horde units, it was tough to find a good angle to line up a flank charge. I did a good job of jumbling the middle of the field with harpies to make him think about his charges. Unfortunately, even with getting the right charges off, I couldn't get his flank thanks to terrain. I did get the charges in that I wanted, but with beastmen dying so easily and -5 to ld I was doomed. I kept him on his toes, and took him all the way to turn 6 before he finally finished off the gor & bestigor units for the win. Result: Massacre to the Daemons Round 2 vs WoC (can't remember his name) Another great opponent, we both had some absolutely horrid rolls but we both laughed about it. His list as far as I recall was 3-4 large units of chaos warriors, one with like 40 models in it (that had the blood soaked choppa) a hellcannon, 6 chaos ogres, a L4 of nurgle and a L2. Highlights: Turn 1 he casts the nurgle spell of make an I test & fail an AS or die on my bestigor unit. Killed a few models, then we get to my beastlord. I laugh and say ha! I need a 6 to fail. I roll a 6 on my I test -.- no worries I figure, I have a 4+ AS. I'm really good at failing those! I roll a 4 -.- dead general on turn 1. After that, he tried his first hellcannon shot of the game, misfire and blew up. So we both started the game in the hole. Then, I dominated in the magic phase, with multiple miasmas every turn, plus death magic, he didn't know what hit him. With harpies and razorgor, I forced him into bad matchups and made his choppa unit take a bestigor charge to the front and a flank charge from my choppa wielding gors. Obliterated the unit. I then charged his bsb unit with my small unit of bestigors, and made them flee, killing his bsb in the process. We went the full 6 turns and it was a tough, fun, bloody mess of chaos! Result: Massacre to the Beasts with full bonus points! Round 3 vs Dave's Lizardmen Dave was also a great opponent, and wasn't afraid to put his army into combat. He brought a unit of 40-50 horded saurus (hw&sh) and a unit of 40-50 horded TG with Slann, supported by 4-5 units of 10 skinks. Highlights: The game started great, I had a great deployment, good matchups and plenty of magic for him to worry about. Turn 2 he charged my gors & bestigors with his two hordes and I was set to flank his saurus with my small bestigor unit once my chariot got out of the way. Before I could do that, lighting struck turn 4, wiped out both chariots, a razorgor, my L4 shaman, 6 bestigors of the 12 or so that were left, 6 gors who would be run down that turn, 5 out of 8 harpies. I knew the game was over at this point but I fought for the draw, my stubborn Beastlord with blackened plate was stuck in a challenge with a hero in the flaming banner wielding TG unit! 2+ward save and stubborn while I was blocking his path to the chaos portal! All I needed to do was not fail a ld 9 test. Of course I rolled 11 and the bsb was dead. I fled, he reformed and sent his characters into the portal and rolled to end the game. Afterthoughts: I played some great opponents, and had a great time. The armies were tough but not so tough I couldn't put up a great fight! Lucky for GoC he didn't have to face my might! -------------------- Ungor ninjas are all around us, practicing their deadly art of invisibility.

Well that last game went belly up in a hurry
And doesn't it always seem like you only fail the really crucial Stat/Break checks? First game vs the Daemon LDbomb stunk but at least you went down fighting. If there were 2x3 units then they were probably Fiends of Slaanesh. Oh well, grats on the win and valuable experience learned |

I always fail the crucial stat/ld checks. Its pretty much my calling card. I actually considered at one point dropped the ld 10 general & crown because I always rolled 11s for ld checks. Haha, but yes that last game went belly up in a hurry. I knew I couldn't win once the gors got run down, but I don't think I would have lost as bad as I did. -------------------- Ungor ninjas are all around us, practicing their deadly art of invisibility.

My list: GBS L4 Beasts, Talisman of Preservation, Crown of Command, Jagged Dagger Wargor BSB Beasts Banner, HA & Shield, Gnarled Hide BS L1 Shadow, Herdstone Shard BS L1 Shadow, Dispell Scroll 38 Gors Ahw FC 10 Gors 2x5 Raiders 2x Tuskgor Chariot 39 Bestigors FC Std of Eternal Flame Razorgor 5 Harpies Round 1 vs Chris' Warriors of Chaos Scenario: Dawn attack, with 1 battle point awarded for killing all the enemy core units and 1 battle point for controlling the most table quarters. His list was 2 big units of warriors, a big marauder unit, a hellcannon, a war altar, some dogs, and I feel like I am forgetting something else... Highlights: I voted Chris my favorite opponent of the day, my dice were on fire this game and he took a serious beating, obviously having no idea what the red-headed step children of chaos were capable of. He went on to win best army due to painting score & a tie vote. On to the battle! Ambushing unit of ungors kept pissing off his war altar for 3 turns until he finally charged them & killed them. Best 30points ever. Miasma is deadly against WoC. By reducing the movement of his two big blocks he couldn't do anything with them the whole game. Especially since the scenario had us literally on opposite corners. His hellcannon failed ld and charged my chariot, overrunning right in front of my horde of gors, who scored 7 wounds with beasts banner and wildform on them, he saved none and went poof. Last turn of the game bestigors smashed into his bsb unit of warriors supported by a flanking horde of gors and crushed them, running them down and securing the win. I managed a massacre +1 battle point for holding table quarters-my harpies and a chariot were so far out of position they were better off claiming them anyways. Round 2 vs Bob's Daemons Scenario: Battleline, with some funny advancement points for having a unit of at least two ranks near one of 3 objective tokens, one in each deployment zone, and one in the center. I looked across the table and saw a big unit of bloodletters w/herald, plaguebearers with herald, 8 flamers (hate them), and a Bloodthirster. This wouldn't be easy. Pre-game thoughts: Bob was also a great opponent who went on the face of against Dave's skaven (the same guy who's LM beat me at the 'Ard Boyz) for the first place spot. He had a good army and knew just how to maximize on it. The scenario was extremely awkward and confusing, I feel like it really turned into both of us leaving one unit in our deployment zones and seeing who falls off first. Highlights: I seriously paid for all the good dice rolling I had in the previous game as I just couldn't get the dice to do what I needed. His BT flank charged my bestigors who held him up for quite a while to let the gors get his flank. Couldn't kill him quick enough before his bloodletters got in just as I killed the big daddy. I figure, well kill the herald and I have a shot right? Well, after miasmas, wildform and giving him -1 to hit, I needed 4s to hit with rerolls from PF, and 2s to wound. I managed to get 11 attacks on the herald in 2 rounds of combat. How many wounds did I ROLL? 1. 1 friggin wound. I'm not talking about after saves, I mean before saves, I rolled 1 wound on this guy out of 11 attacks. Then to add insult to injury, my GBS blows himself up, killing 6 bestigors, and leaving them to get clobbered by the bloodletters who overran into them after my Gors failed a ld roll they should have made easily. Bestigors got smacked and run down without their stubborn. Meanwhile, his stupid ridiculously cheap flamers would causing absolute havoc on my army, killed off a ton of models before they got into combat, them moving over to blast my mage bunker, and panicing them off the board. Massacre to the daemons, I was left with about 10 gors on the table, but I controlled my objective so got +1 battle point. A tough fight! Round 3 vs Carl's High Elves Scenario: Blood & Glory with a battle point for killing off the enemy general before the army breaks and one battle point for killing all the enemy's special choices. His army consisted of a big sea guard unit, a unit of white lions, a unit of phoenix guard, a unit of 7 swordmasters, a unit of spearmen, one/two eagles, and a unit of dragon princes. Thoughts: Carl was a competitive player with a nicely painted army. We got into a few squabbles during the game but afterwards we were fine. Highlights: This was by far the best I have ever done against high elves, probably because I have grown accustomed to playing them and understand the different units strengths & weaknesses. Mvp of the game goes to my ambushing ungors again, who harassed his dragon princes for 3 turns, keeping them out of the main combats and with 1 ungor remaining, rolling insane courage to stay. Love it. He moved his spearmen with his L4 well into charge range of my chariot, who charge eagerly into him, didn't take a single wound, did 6 impact hits and allocated all attacks at his L4, killing him and running the unit down! My bestigors charged his white lions who fled. I needed to roll box cars to catch them, and guess what I rolled? BOXCARS BABY! Bestigors ran as fast as KENYANS and caught the WLs! They then proceeded to charge his 7 swordmasters, wiped them out and overran into the phoenix guard, setting them up for a flank charge from a horde of gors. His sea guard flanked my bestigors but couldn't do much with their puny S3. Bestigors supported by the horde of gors didn't take long to beat the phoenix guard who broke along with the sea guard and he called the game. I wanted to see if I ran any of them down, but he got a little peeved and said it didn't matter. I didn't push the issue but felt that it did matter as I should have gotten an extra battle pojnt. As it was, I got a massacre, barely losing anything besides a unit of raiders and 2 chariots. I ended the day with 36 points out of a total possible 45, not including comp, sportmanship and painting scores. I was very impressed with how the army played out and I feel as though I'm starting to understand other armies a little better! Now if I could just figure out skaven & DEs... -------------------- Ungor ninjas are all around us, practicing their deadly art of invisibility.

Dave:
I was cheering for you, at the RTT event. You made a great run of it. Bob list is pretty tough match up for any Beast army. It was a nice turn out and it seemed everyone had a good time. We had 12 people show up for the RTT. 2-0-1 with Daemons at the Ard Boyz and at the RTT event with WoC I went 2-0-1 again, both draws against the same local player. Played a friendly game against a friend's empire army on Sunday. I wanted to test out an army idea that I'm trying to tweak. Anyways, here's the lists:
GBS L4 Beasts, Talisman of Preservation, Brass Cleaver, Jagged Dagger, Skin of Man, on Razorgor Chariot Wargor BSB Beasts Banner, HA & Shield, Gnarled Hide Wargor Crown of Command, Ramhorn Helm, HA & Sh BS L2 Death, Dispell Scroll 38 Gors Ahw FC 6 Centigors Ghorros Warhoof, FC 5 Hounds 2x5 Raiders 2x Tuskgor Chariot 34 Bestigors FC Std of Eternal Flame Razorgor 5 Harpies Scouts 5 Harpies His: 40-50 Halberds with BSB 40 swordsmen 2x10 handgunners one with fire mage Stank 2x mortars Cannon Helstorm rocket battery 30 greatswords with arch lector 2 engineers 1 priest Scenario was dawn attack, making deployment look like this: From my left to right: Harpies, dogs, 2x chariots, ungors with bestigors(cc wargor in here) behind, gors (bsb & BS here), razorgor, centigors His army from my left to right: Handgunners, stank, swordsmen, halberds, handgunners with mage, cannon, mortar, mortar, rocket battery ( two engineers behind the cannon & mortar and the mortat & rocket), priest (he rolled him separate from the unit for some reason) and greatswords I set up my scouting harpies and my scouting chariot 12" away from his warmachines, threatening a lot of units. Turn 1: I set up first, so I got first turn. Harpies get right up in the cannon's face, blocking his LoS forward. Other harpies move up to bait the stank. Whole army surges forward, razorgor set up to threaten warmachines or greatswords, centigors move enough to be a long charge from the greatswords, but perfect position to flank them. Ambushing ungors come in with a 6 right behind his warmachines and lone engineers! Magic has everything dispelled with his +3 DD. Shooting has the ungors fail to wound the engineer after only rolling one hit. Drat! His turn, he attempts to charge the razorgor but fails with his greatswords. He's pretty ticked off that I'm so far in his face on turn one. He generates 5 SP with his stank and moves up to use the steam gun on the harpies. Halberds move up, looking like they want to threaten the chariot. This puts them in the way of the swordsmen who don't have much room to move. Magic has him get flame cage on my gor unit, locking them in place and he doesn't get much else off. Shooting has him turn the cannon around and grapeshot the ungors, wiping them out. Mortars and rocket batter rain hell down on the bestigors killing a crap ton. Stank and handgunners bring the harpies down to one model who don't panic! His other gunners shoot at the razorgor chariot but can't wound it My turn 2, the pain trains-a-comin'! Harpies charge cannon, gbs on razorgor chariot charges gunners with his L4 who flee off the board! I redirect into his mortar needing an 8 to make the charge and roll a 7 -.- Razorgor gets in the greatswords face, angled so they expose their flank to the centigors. Gors stay still to not take wounds. Ungors move up in the halberds face so they can't flank charge the gbs chariot. Bestigors reform to set up a flank charge on the halberds, since the ungors are stubborn in a forest. Chariots prepare to countercharge the front of the halberds. Lone harpy sits in front of the stank so he can't move except to charge. Magic gets me one wound off the rocket battery with spirit leech. Combat has the harpies whoop the cannon crew and overrun into an engineer. His turn, greatswords charge the razorgor who holds, halberds charge ungors who hold. Swordsmen try to manuever their way in but need to go around halberds. Stank generates steam points to move away from the harpy in his way. He has no more magic phase, shooting has his mortars rain hell down on the bestigors again. Combat has his greatswords only wound the razorgor twice who breaks, flees and gets away. Halberds kill all the ungors and overrun into one of my chariots. Harpies kill the engineer and overrun into the priest. My turn 3: Centigors smash into the greatswords flank, Ghorros bellowing drunkenly. Gors charge the front of the greatswords. Gbs Razorgor chariot charges the rocket battery, bestigors charge the flank of the halberds and chariot charges their front. Magic I cast savage beast upgraded & wildform on the harpies. Combat, his arch lector challenges, and I know he has the speculum so I decline. He puts my bsb in the rear. Ghorros manages a single wound on the lector, gors and centigors carve the greatswords up. I win combat and reform gors to horde formation. Gbs with 7 S7 attacks demolishes the rocket battery. I reform to face the other mortar. My chariot only rolls 1 impact hit. I score a few more wounds than he does and win combat as he couldn't would the chariot and I negated his rank bonus. His turn. He needs 5 steam points to charge my bestigors, and rolls a 6 causing a wound and generating no points! That was luck right there. He keeps his swordsmen where they are, fearing the gbs on chariot. He uses his last mortar shot to land a direct hit on my razorgor who dies, much to Timone's dismay. Combat he still has trouble wounding the chariots but stil manages to kill a bestigor removing my rank and regaining his rank bonuses. I still manage to win combat and he holds. His priest wallops the harpies. His lector challenges again, my bsb accepts this time figuring 6 S7 attacks with rerolls to hit should make short work of the pansy. Nope. Even with rerolls I missed with 5/6 attacks. He scored a wound on me. Gors and centigors carve up the greatswords down to 6 or 7 models. My turn 4 Gbs chariot charges the mortar. Magic phase I give his halberds -1 to hit and give my bsb savage beast. Gbs slaughters the mortar. Halberds manage to finish off one chariot, I win combat again but he's still steadfast. I fluff my attacks on the lector again who kills my bsb. I kill some more greatswords but centigors can't attack as hi lector is the only model in b2b and was in a challenge? His turn He moves his priest into his swordsmen unit and wounds his stank again when trying to generate steam points. Ghorros finishes his lector off, and after all my attacks, one stupid greatsword is still standing. Halberds finish the last chariot, bestigors roll a bunch of wounds and win combat, he fails two ld checks and flees! I fail to catch. At this point we call the game. I end up winning by 500 points, solid victory to the beasts! -------------------- Ungor ninjas are all around us, practicing their deadly art of invisibility.

Here we go, another exciting tournament tale! I took my beasts to a 2500pt tournment at my LGS. 7 people showed up so it was a smallish tournament, typically more like 10-12 people would have been there. Here's the list I took, after much debate:
GBS L4 Beasts, Talisman of Preservation, Jagged Dagger, Ironcurse Icon, Ahw - 299pts Beastlord Armor of Destiny, Crown of Command, Sword of Striking, Sh = 248 Wargor BSB Beasts Banner, HA & Shield, Gnarled Hide - 206 BS L1 Shadow, Herdstone Shard - 125pts BS L1 Shadow, Dispell Scroll - 100pts BS L1 Shadow, Chalice of Dark Rain 115pts 39 Gors Ahw FC 337pts 10 Gors 70pts 5 Raiders - 30pts 5 Raiders - 30pts 6 Hounds - 36pts 2x Tuskgor Chariot - 160 39 Bestigors FC Std of Eternal Flame - 513 Razorgor - 55pts Razorgor Chariot - 145pts 5 Harpies - 55pts Game 1 vs the one and only, General of Chaos Scenario: Dawn Attack Synopsis: I lost this game during deployment. My herdstone & my shaman bodyguard unit ended up on opposite ends of the table and he used his bloodthirster to great effect. The fact my dice were absolutely HORRIBLE didn't help either. I couldn't stop his flamers, I threw as much as I could at them, a tuskgor chariot, rolled 5 impact hits and killed one model. -.- magic I couldn't get a spell off to save my life and when I did I rolled terrible to wound. His fiends just wiped the floor with my other tuskgor chariot and razorgor. I made a desparate charge through a forest to flank his flamers, only to roll a 1 on dangerous terrain and a 5 for wounds. Poof. Turn 2 I knew the game was over, he killed off all my chaff/redirectors and had my Gors set up to be charged on 3 sides. By turn 3 my Gors were wiped out and my bestigors were so out of position they couldn't do anything. I think I only killed 3 units of his. Massacre to Daemons (I want a rematch George!) Game 2 vs Horton's Tomb Kings Scenario: Meeting Engagement Synopsis: This was another game of terrible dice rolling. Holy moly was I not expecting what the casket could do though. His list was a ton of shooting, with a bone giant, 3 scorpions and a bunch of priests, one with a flying cloak. Initially, I didn't know what to expect from him and that cost me in the beginning as my eyes popped out of my head when the casket started killing off my chariots and redirecting units. After that, I made sure I took the shooting and let off a lot of stuff just so I could stop the casket. Ambushing ungors almost took down a priest single-handedly! But after I got one wound on him I couldn't pass PF to save my lift and couldn't seem to hit him. On top of that, my bestigors took a pounding between the shooting and the catapults and me rolling 2 count'em 2 5+ AS out of 40. Seriously, there was only maybe 3 wounds that I took where I had an AS penalty. Once I closed with him, he crumbled pretty quickly, my GBS & BSB wrought havoc on everything they touched, my BL barely killed his high priest guy with flying cloak, thanks to CR. End result: Solid Victory to the beasts! Game 3 vs Seth's VC Scenario: Pitched Battle Synopsis: my dice finally forgave me and tried to make up for the past few games. I was on fire, throwing Miasmas around and crushing him in combat. There wasn't really a defining moment where I won the game, however, my dice did decide to screw me one last time for the day. I had to roll a panic check for my BL & his bestigor bodyguard unit. Of course I failed a rerollable ld 9 check. So I fled. Next turn, I try to rally, do I pass? Of course not! I flee some more. His turn, his black knights charge from 10" away. I dropped his M down to 1 with some miasmas but he rolled 8 on the dice to reach my bestigor unit who are forced to flee off the table. After that the game ended with a solid victory to me, would have been a massacre if I could have passed a rerollable ld 9 test! End of the day, I took 3rd place overall, missing GoC in 2nd place by a fair bit, even if I had that massacre game 3 I believe I was still down by like 7-8 points. So close, yet so far! I apologize this took so long for me to post and I couldn't give a more detailed batrep, the next one will be better! -------------------- Ungor ninjas are all around us, practicing their deadly art of invisibility.
