It is a ridiculously great meal on all accounts; flavour, simplicity, cost-effectiveness, comfort. I've been making the tomato bread soup (otherwise known as pappa al pomodoro) from Jamie Oliver in Italy. It is another great soup and makes me think about how I'm really into simple food with a few ingredients made really well over complicated food done poorly. EDIT: also, rum,.. hahaha! Skinless sausages tonight. (Or rather, rolled mince stylised to look that way)

Potato bake 'n' steak 'n' Bacon.
Basically use your oven to make a potato bake and your pan to make a steak and some bacon. To make the gravy use cream, brandy and the fat in the pan. To get the exact measurements look up cognac sauce. Serve with the steak on the plate, cover the top in bacon and cover the top of the bacon with the gravy, serve with the potato bake. This is MY recipe (so basically I came up with the idea without reading or the net) but everyone may try it! -------------------- You are guilty! The punishment is death for all who live.

Why did I decide to try and be vegetarian? Swiss chard, lentil and mint soup tonight. Not my own recipe, but pretty darn good. Craving that potato-bake'n'steak'n'bacon tho -------------------- "Chance favors only the prepared mind" - Louis Pasteur

You FOOL never say no to meat. You can still have some potato bake though, a nice twist i like with the potato bake is to use sweet potato for the top potato layer. It really makes it come alive. -------------------- You are guilty! The punishment is death for all who live.

I'm about to make myself some breakfast bean quesadilla with, chopped tomatoes, jalapenos, onions, lettuce (there are 7 kinds in this container I bought), and pepper jack cheese.
Later, I'd like to hit up some Kluckers for some broiled shrooms and french fries. I tend to stay away from meat of any kind most times. But on occasion I just can't help it and slap a nice prime cut steak on the grill and go to town. Or hop over to El Burrito Loco for a giant steak burrito. And almost always right before dinner; I drop four to five standard shots of vodka into one of those 10 oz whisky short glass and take one huge shot. Unless I'm eating out; then I limit it to one or two shots, or go for one foo-foo house special that the restaurant carries (the foo-foo thing usually only happens if the party contains mostly women). I especially like the Pappadeaux swamp thing. |

I just ate chicken and spaghetti, with some sort of soya sauce. Not bad at all, but frankly also a little boring...
