Edit:
Quite a few things happened to my army since making the first post, this should help giving a little overview of what i've done with the beasts so far. As you perhaps can see after reviewing, I've gone quite a long way since starting out. Not very many spiders have sneaked into the army, I haven't really been able to find any that I wanted.

The painting sort of took 2.nd place ot the converting. Some of the converting is awesome IMHO, while some of it is more.... enthusiastic than skillfull =D
But the overall impression is very much to my liking, mongrels with pointy sticks!
Finished stuff:
Finished gor horde in all it's glory
Painted Jabberslythe/almost finished, closeups of gors
Forsaken, finished gor unit, Porcutaur WIP
Porcutaurs finished (bottom of page)
Razorgores

Work in progress:
Jabberslythe and Razorgor WIP
Mutated gors WIP
Mutated gors WIP 2
last page is shaman and a gor horde.

My working concept is Wicked nature, rampant growth with mutations and demonic essence added in. Unfortunate mutants, mongrels, halfdemons and other rabble all bunched up in a unholy messy horde.

I must admit to having a terrible fetish for the old chaos champions and I will most likely have a unit of those as Bestigors, once everything is better under way. Bought up a good lot of them from ebay, along with a lot of Dragon ogres, that will most likely be minotaurs or razorgors.

The overall plan is that the units must not consist of models that are too similar. Im very inspired by Realms of Chaos books (Lost and the Damned and Slaves to Darkness) books and John Blanches more weird pieces. I loathe the unit-look of the new chaos warrior infantry. Altho awesome individual models they are not very chaosy. To some extent the beastmen suffer from the same problem, the models being some way away from the fluff.

Modelwise I've stolen lots of ideas all over the web, loving stuff like this in particular ; http://www.witchhunter.net/galerie_nurgle_gors.html

Working on orc-bodies with strange heads, and adding strange heads to beastman gor plastic bodies making for some diverse models, that hopefully will look unified once painted up. An awefull mess, but in the chaosy and evil way, and not in the confused and stupid way. Hopefully =)

Wargor/general-sorta chap, perhaps battlestandart bearer.

Centiders, Feedback very welcome. A bit problem with these guys is that the bodies and shoulders do not seem to be raised high enough over the spider-bodies to make wielding weapons look reasonable. Im considering adding 4-6 zombie/ghoul arms to them instead of weapon arms.

Welcome out of lurkerdom. smile.gif

I think it would be good to use spears on the centigors.

Great start. From what miniature comes the first model body?

Hehe, thank you for the replies.
I did the tiny spider-beast as a joke mostly, same with the bat, but they are pretty funny and guess they will stay in as ungors of some sort.

The spears look strangely right on the Centiders, but are somehow more civilized than I want them to be. Seeing how I just recieved some stuff I ordered (Chaos spawns and crypt ghouls) I'm going to try with some flailing appendages and multible arms before I go back to the spears, or explore other avenues.

The BSB was originally a Rackham miniature. The head is terrible and I haven't got the hand so gonna have to make a new arm of some sort.

Looks very cool, your army will definitely stand out.

Why not green stuff up an extended torso to lift the upper body higher of the spider?
The other option is to reposition the spider legs to lift the spider body off the ground, which will in turn elevate the upper body clear of the legs.

Very interesting idea with moving the upper body. I will definately try that.
I kinda like the ghoul arms, it looks very freaky and worrying, and not very cartoony and cute.
Perfect =)

Right, so I've had some progress.

I've managed to play with the army a few times, with the new 8.th edition rules, and had great fun. The army plays well, and with the beastial fury => hatred the gors are very fighty and hold their own decently against moderate challengers (They dont exactly hold their ground against a WoC Chosen deathstar :-D Nor should they, but thats a different story).

I have remade the Centigors and made their upper body a tad taller, making them work better. I've removed all weapons but the spear-guy (who I thought worked as he was) and replaced the gor arms with several Ghoul-arms on each model. They look freaky, and perhaps scary. Definately mutated and hopefully not ridiculos or shoddy made =)

I'll post some pictures of them when I get a bit of paint slabbed onto them

Having played a few games (using tons of proxies) made me realise that I need a LOT of gors. So I stuck some gor-kits and some bitz-boxes (and spawn bits) in a blender and stuff came out.
There are some categories so I could make my army look very inspired from the picture on page 7 in the New armybook.

All gors, need to make a good 60 more of these guys. Doesnt take too long, but Im properly gonna have to repeat some of the designs that I really think work. It's pretty hard to make tentacles work at all, I gotta say. They always look sorta "stuck on" and not a "natural" part of the model, if you know what I mean.

So, whaddaya think?

I think your hobby skill has been blessed by Morghur's fell touch.
The only thing I'm not really sold to would be that the strong and ferocious gors don't have any horns, which they need to be gors. But the use of all these kinds of bits are really nice.

Hehe, thanks.
I know I was being a bit off the beaten track when those gors didnt get horns. I mean, I realise that that is basicly the identifying factor, the horns.
But I think the chaos warrior head and the skull-face helmet looked very scary, so they got away with it. And I was too lazyto put horns on the wolfface guy.

I stole the idea to use the WoC as a head from a friend who used it for CSM possessed.
Its the gor in the middle of the last "strong and ferocious".
And the guy on the left, the one that is "shouting" has ½ beastman head + ½ a goblin head (mouth) glued on. I think the conversion is sorta subtle but makes for a nice mongrel/mutant look while still being beastmany.

Yeah horns would be nice, but to be honest I don't think it's a problem.

Your conversion skills are extremely impressive and I'm a huge fan of your ghoul-ungor conversion. The army reminds me of the transformation from human to beast image that is in the rule book. I love it so far.
