Here they are!
They look... putrid! That means you did a great job, especially on those capes (the one in the center is my favourite). What about adding some rust to the weapons? -------------------- |

Thanks guys.
Here's my varghulf for the vampires. If you think it's similar to the spawn I just posted in the other thread, then that must be a coincidence. ![]() Here are some new nurglings. ![]() I've finished off some movement trays, These are looking better than bare cardboard and plastic. And here's an armyshot of the nurglings, including most of those trays: ![]() Pretty good for a month's work, if I say so myself. -------------------- Eight Chicky Bits, is that a Chicky Byte?

Very very nice for a month! It always amazes me how nice movement trays and some simple basing makes an army look 100x better, just must be something in the way the human brain perceives things hollisticly.
When I had finished my Khorne army board and had my 95% painted army on it, 20 people were looking at it where I game and didn't even realize one of the Bloodcrushers was missing a rider... Anyway I got about 250 real VC models to paint if you want to paint them (for free of course |

Good job mate. The only thing I would say is that maybe that warrior's arm looks a bit out of place... isn't it? But I do agree with bonegnasher, the trays add something to those -already cool- models -------------------- |

Love it. The army's looking really great. You might try some nurglings with a bit more yellow just so you have something linking that vargulf to the army.

Really cool, mate. The sorcerers/vampires are awesome (although, maybe something's missing on the weapons - maybe rust, as Kawasu). Great job - you really should be proud.
And I see the varghulf/spawn got the movement tray we were talking about. I think it's a great solution. Any ideas of what to do next? I have been searching ebay for the stuff the evil grey monk stole, but no luck yet. How much points do you have now? And as Silenius implies, it would be nice seeing this thing on a tournament - I vote for QfA in Uppsala. -------------------- Garganthors Beasts vs. Sherlockos Beasts - 12-8

@bonegnasher: Actually, I realised it's more like 3 weeks, I started the thread August 18. I definitely agree about basing. I'm a bit inspired by Harry on Warseer, he's been churning out armies like there's no tomorrow, and the basing definitely helps. If you don't want your VC army I'd be more than happy to take them. @Kawazu: As I said on MSN the arm is from the spawn kit. And thanks. @decker: Thanks mate. I might try that, if I want more zomblings. I've also thought about using my chaos warhounds as direwolves, and they're yellow. @Silenius: I haven't planned anything. You and Garganthor will just have to force me. @Garganthor: If I add ten dire wolves I have 1596 points, but that includes a lord. I also have 12 more ghoulings which should be finished soon. @Beastlord Karankawa: Thanks. Apart from ~50 unpainted nurglings (and all the ones on 40 mm bases not painted by me) I don't really know. The idea of the army was to get it on the cheap and to use the nurglings I had lying around in droves. I'll have to see if I expand the army more, depends a bit on money, and if I actually like playing VC, I don't know that yet. -------------------- Eight Chicky Bits, is that a Chicky Byte?

That is an excellent idea for ghouls - cheaper than buying the new (not so great IMO) plastics and some very cool looking units as a result.

jayemcb and Doom Duck, thanks!
Yesterday, just before going to bed (isn't that always the case?) I got an idea to use Mordheim possessed cultists as grave guards. Pros: They're great models they're made to be on 20 mm bases The variety of poses, should be able to make 6 of them with HW+S (they have AHW now) and 3 with GW, 2 halberds (counts as GW) and 1 spear. They have some armour, so counting it as heavy isn't that big a stretch. Cons: The variety of poses, should be able to make 6 of them with HW+S (they have AHW now) and 3 with GW, 2 halberds (counts as GW) and 1 spear. No command, I'd have to convert that. While chaosy, they're not very nurgly. I also have some other minis that could make a 4*4 unit filler. But that would be more of a sacrificial scene, whipping half naked ladies, and I'm not sure that's particularly fitting... I originally bought them to use as cultists with my WoC, but then they didn't end up getting cultists, and I had more OOP beastmen to use as marauders, so then they didn't really fit as that too. Thoughts? -------------------- Eight Chicky Bits, is that a Chicky Byte?

Heresy! Whipping half naked ladies is ALWAYS fitting. Or it might be the Slaanesh player in me. Dunno. Have you looked at what other Chaos figs are in Mordheim. There's the Nurgle Carneval. Though I've found the Mordheim stuff in general being very Nurgly. At least the Beastmen stuff. I guess you could use regular Plaguebearers as Grave Guard. And/or the Heresy Blights for some variety. I guess something more Deamon like would make more sense in so far as you could "summon" them back. -------------------- |

Yeah, I know about the CoC, I'll try to get my hands on a plague cart, eventually. The actual minis seem more hit and miss, from a grave guard perspective.
Here's a shot of the minis I have, the ones in the back I'm more unsure about. ![]() I've thought about plague bearers, the old ones wouldn't fit very well on 20 mm bases, don't know about the new ones. -------------------- Eight Chicky Bits, is that a Chicky Byte?

As I said on MSN, the idea is good.
True, they're aren't very very nurglish, but, as you did with the sorcerers, you can fix that with painting -------------------- |
