So, my new project. Not really done with the first two models, but as christmas is coming up and I am going away a couple of days, and having a lot of other stuff that need attention, I thought it was appropriate to show a bit of my new stuff....

And before judging, remember that I am not quite done with them. One thing, I just had a standard brush, so any finer details was pretty hard to do, so I'll get back to that stuff. And of course some base work - I'm thinking snow.

Anyway - enter Throgg and Vilitch!

And together now - just to see how immense the Wintertooth really is:

The Vilitch project I will come back to, as, besides the paint job , the conversion has some major flaws in it. But, as I just tried if I could do him, I am quite pleased with the result, and he'll do for now. One day I'll get better with the GS, and then I'll do him justice...

So, whaddaya think?

Good job! Throgg is looking great. Vilitch is looking good too, though quite busy.

Vilitch is a Tzeentch sorcerer who was very weak, and one day he woke up fused to his stronger twin brother. He's like a parasite on hi brothers back. Awesome character in the WoC bok imo.

Great models, where did you find such a big troll? He looks enormous, and very cool!

Vilitch is definately in the right direction, i like him alot! It's difficult to sculpt robes, i think most do it in multiple layers, buuilding it up and bulking it out, making sharp edges as they progress. The conversion looks very good though, and you've used the perfect bits for the model, I would never have thought of using a Warrior Priest, great choice.

Cheers guys!

mrtn:
Not sure I understand exactly the "busy"-comment... But overall I'm glad you seem to like it... When not crowded with other things to do, I'll try and get more things done and update for your critical eye...

banedrom
Throgg is huge, almost the size of the (plastic) giant. I imagine he'll really tower above the rest of the armys trolls and what not later on - which may or may not be a good thing. To bad he isn't a large target - not rules wize, for that I'm glad, but its size would have been a bit more justifiable is he were...

The crown, well, it could have been better done, but as it is, I'm quite pleased with it...

ShaggothLord
You'll have to wait a bit longer, Im sad to say. It's piling up, my obligations outside the warhammer world...

Mallekha
Yeah, I think he's one of the best characters ever - at least in fluff. Don't often play with special characters, but some of the WoC guys really are cool, without being immensly powerful, so I think I'll start using some of them from time to time. Vilitch may be a very good sorcerer, but not much more than that, and as such I wont feel cheesy putting him on the table. Throgg on the other hand may be a bargain for his points, but as I atleast intend to use a lot of Trolls when using him, I feel that it compensates a bit. And the background for him to is really nice... I have plans for a Festus conversion too - it may differ a bit from the pic in the book, but the geist of him should be there, I think.

The troll model is a GW-troll, actually. I think it's a "Staff Only"-sort of thing (at least that is what it said on ebay. I guess that means that only GW-employees were able to buy him, or something...

I wont tell you how much I paid for him, though, as you'd really think I'm mad...

Anyway, I have added some GS and bits on him. He used to not have any fur, or lips, or a crown, or eyes on his back, or a mouth on his stomach, or horns... The fur was mostly to bind him in with the rest, as otherwise he would have been just black and white... To bad he had to have a big rock in both hands, as otherwise I'd have liked him to have an great axe - but I didn't want to risk that kind of conversion... I'm not that good.

Villitch robes were indeed hard to do. Did a base and added a layer on it, but I should probably have done a more careful job. But, as it stands, it works... When I get time, I'll do a better paint job on him to, and then I think he'll really be ok.

It took a while before I found a suitible warrior body, and I think that I got it quite good, with the warrior priest. His pose is alright, and had I only been better with GS, I'd have done some more on his armour, making it look more chaotic. Tried to do a shoulder pad with a skull and horns, which doesn't really show on the pictures (thank god), but it didn't really look that chaosy, mostly retarded... I'll see what I can do with that too, later on.

Jhaantikaal
Well, maybe not great, but ok - thanks! I know your stuff and what you can do, so I am quite humble before you, but I am glad you don't laugh at it at least...

-----------------

I have a bucket load of mortal stuff to do, and I really hope I get started for real soon, as I really would like to try them out...

I haven't seen any others Vilitch conversions, and only one Throgg - would be nice to compare and get inspiration... Maybe I should go for a stroll over to CotEC...

Wow - not sure how I missed this - but your conversion work, especially on the troll, is amazing! Like the color pallete too - don't think I have seen trolls done that way before!

That troll is truly astounding! I especially like the work you've done with the eyes in his shoulder blades.

Ok, ok...

I have had a hell of a lot to do, school stuff and other, and which haven't been easier with my loved one since a long time decided she didn't want me anymore, after a troubled time.... sad.gif

So, I haven't really been in a good mood, and even though painting usually is quite good as a distraction, I just couldn't bother geting started...

...till now.
