I didn't really think about it before, but 69 is pretty young by todays standards to pass away.

Agreed,

In addition to D and D he was responsible for Chainmail the original fantasy wargame - - when that went away I suspect that inspired the GW team to get their own rules together (GW and WD initially were designed to import D and D into the UK. . and make cribbage boards.)

Glad to hear I waa correct Zoid (and arach was wrong...), I was just making an educated guess.

Yeah, it is definitly weird how much he contributed to this kind of thing....the ammount of stuff that has really been a big part of my life in terms of what I've done with my free time and the people I've met through various games...that wouldn't have been around without him, is pretty astounding.

I guess I never really stopped to think about who rolled the first pebble that turned into the avalanche.
