Hello and Welcome to my painting diary. I am Uggg and I will be your host today and tomorrow.

What’s Uggg? Well, the day I stopped being a lurker and decided to post something I felt like garbage and the best name I could think of was Uggg. At the time, it seemed appropriate. Since then, I have become accustomed to it. I think I will name a spawn after my forum name.

Who's Uggg? Well as Uggg, I am a gamer. I have been playing warhammer fantasy since 5th edition starting with dark elves. I left fantasy for gorkamorka at its introduction, which branched into playing 40k when 3rd edition was released. Half a dozen 40k armies later, I ventured back into fantasy and started to become an outrider. However, I grew tired of kissing the store managers arse at the local GW and quit the outriding thing. Since then I've amassed a huge collection of models which I've sold most of because in the last year I have moved 3 times and it was getting tedious moving so many models. Do not fear: I am not a gypsy! The armies I have left are Beasts of chaos, dwarves, and tyranids. The only army I use is the beasts. The rest collect dust and contemplate their dark existence in cushy foam trays. Onto the models!

Uggg's beasts: My beasts started out as a slaaneshi force. I didn’t really enjoy giving that mark to units however, only to characters. So I dabbled with tzeentch marks as well as chaos undivided. In recent times, I have gone the mark of khorne. I always wanted to try this mark, but never have as everyone plays khorne. I guess you can count me in that lot now. Although to make me feel more individualized I made up my own chaos goddess and they just use the mark of khorne for game terms. Whatever gets you through the night, eh?

So today I have for you some recent works in progress.

The first up is a converted beastlord. He still needs a shield and some putty work on his hooves and hindquarters. My idea was of a unicorn that has been perverted by chaos.

Here are some furies I made. I don't like the idea of using gors with wings. Nor do I like using harpies, strigoi vampires with wings, or chaos furies. I needed something more individual. I was going to convert goblins to have some wings to make for little mephit-like-imp furies. I bought the goblins and the wings and was ready to go. However, I was staring this hot picture of a squig one day and this idea came over me. I had to do it. I really like squigs. The picture sucks though, but I think you can get the idea.

I really like the furies! biggrin.gif

As to the unicorn, it will be interesting to see it painted, right now it seems quite busy.

Like the pictures, very much. Your beastlord is really going to stand out as he appears to be quite tall.

ehhh I don't know, unicorns seem to beautiful, and uncorrupted a creature, corrupt that head some... Other than that very cool, and the spuigafuries are just delightful...

Those furies are divine. Really, really awesome, just magnificent. They seem really diabolic yet in a 'cartoony' sort of way which really fits with WH. What are those tiny wings from?

And I really like the idea of your beastlord too, though I think you could've done better; the gutplate and loincloth are a bit too much. Also, I would've just made it a horse (instead of a unicorn), the horn looks out of place. But you did real well on the hind legs and torso as I can see now.

You, sir, have some great ideas. Keep 'm coming so I can keep stealing 'm! biggrin.gif

Wow. Its rare that someone comes with something truly original on this forum anymore but I think you just did.
Love the beastlord purely for its originality and the squigs are just great. Their poses really suit the fact that they are flying.
Cant wait to see more. Are you doing a whole new army or are you just adding on to your existing army?

WEIRD!

That takes the cake as the strangest conceptual army I have seen...

The furies look great though. I think I am in love.

i love the unicorn idea, but it does at the moment seem a bit busy. the gutplate makes him look like he's got an angry crotch. and the neck of the horse really is too long for an upright stance. think about the Minotaurs... bulls anthropomorphized lose the neck, because they don't need such a long neck to see.

squigs... cartoonish, as someone else said, but in a good way. they really are chaosey, in that mutated, strange sort of way.

good thinking, keep it up.
