EDIT: Apparently part of my title got cut off, so apologies if it reads oddly xD
Hello, and welcome to my project log. I've been collecting a Chaos army for Warhammer Fantasy for several years, and have finally began to really start painting and modelling it. I've got tons and tons of miniatures hoarded away that I've bought over the years for this project, from many different companies/eras, and felt it could be fun to share them, even if my painting skills do leave something to be desired xD I can already tell that I'll need to work on my photography skills as well, but hopefully these giant pictures taken on my desk will suffice until I can set up a better environment for taking them. Hope you enjoy (and yes, there will be Beastmen)! First up, we have my Tzeentch Chaos Lord Kaargarth on his Stonehorn (counts-as chariot). I've got components to build the same character on foot and on horseback, so expect to see them sometime in the future. Then I might look into doing him on a dragon, if I feel brave enough xD ![]() Then, we have the first two of the Undivided Mountain Aurochs Riders, counts-as Skullcrushers. There are four more to be made, including one which I will likely convert to carry a shaman character and paint white. The mounts come from an old Russian line by Zvezda, and so does the ogre's helmet, which reminded me of the character on the box art for Skyrim. So now I call him D-ogre-khiin xD ![]() A Undivided minotaur from the Rackham line, in my opinion far far better than the offerings by Games Workshop. Been trying to source more to go with him but since they are OOP it's not easy. ![]() Various Slaaneshi heroes/lords. The group includes Lelith Hespirax, a couple of figures from the Celtos range, a Skorne character from Warmahordes, and a pair of Dark Elf model conversions. Going for as many female units as possible for the Slaaneshi side of the army which is why they are all girls. ![]() ![]() Slaanesh Warrior champion. Gone for a tiger fur pattern on the edgings of the cloak, a weapon from the Chaos Knights kit and used a head from the 40k Wych kit instead of a helm to make her stand out. ![]() Slaaneshi Wolf Riders, counts-as Marauder Horsemen. Converted from Fenris Wolves and Wyches from 40k. ![]() ![]() And finally, a quick shot of the tip of the iceberg of stuff yet to come. There is a lot more than just this one shelf, trust me xD You might be able to recognise some of the figures if you look hard enough. ![]() ![]() I should also point out that the basing on most of the above models isn't completed so some of the base edges look a bit messy. this is som very neat stuff you have there !
Lot of nice conversions i must say, and it makes a good impression by the miniatures being so different and divided. nice Soo what army is this exactly supposed to be ? Glad you like it, and it's probably my fault for not really explaining very well xD It's basically a mish-mash Chaos force that will use the Warriors rules but will feature all sorts of things; mortals, beastmen, demons, minotaurs, ogres, etc. I have got a ton of projects to get round to with this army that I've bought the models for, from warshrines to giants through chariots, hounds, daemon princes/princesses, knights, marauder horsemen, beastmen, a lot of characters including a lord mounted on a stag, daemonettes, the Chaos works basically. And this isn't even counting what I might buy to add on in the future (currently resisting expanding into Khorne due to the mass of stuff I have to work on so far and there being more Tzeentch and Slaanesh shinies I want first). The problem is finding time to work on it all without getting side-tracked by other stuff (but since this project is so open I can usually manage to shoehorn any cool minis into it one way or another). |

Been working on the shaman Aurochs rider, here's a picture of the conversion I did:
![]() Starting to think I should maybe rebuild the other knight rider into a guy like this (with a marauder chest, a bare head and generally more "savage") because I'm liking the look a lot more. What do people think? |

Been working on some more Warriors of Slaanesh and I have a couple of schemes to get your opinions on.

The legs look a bit large for the shaman, but not too bad. I am loving th elook of this army. The bulls are very cool, and it is good to see a Chaos army full of conversions. Reminds me of 6th Edition, and the days of the US White Dwarf, well done.

Thanks
![]() Does the yellow/flesh mount work with the purpley-grey daemonette? And an old plastic shaman model I picked up already painted and muted down with a few washes and highlights, still needs rebasing. I'm thinking about putting him on a stone circle themed warshrine disemboweling a Marauder. |
