Looking at the close up you can see that he is very...compact. That will make it harder to do minor conversions(lack of room to work with) Looks fun to paint though.

On the contrary it looks like it would be easy to convert since it comes in so many pieces.
  • Staff with both hand and an arm
  • horns and hair
  • right leg
  • torso
  • left leg
  • ½ skin cloak
  • ½ skin cloak and one arm
  • base
Just change the horns to some bestigor ones if you have any and you've got an even greater bray shaman right there.

I thought the number of parts might allow for conversions. The wight king model (great model bought one just because I like it) would be difficult to convert, since fewer parts.

I really like the new model. For one: it's plastic (bad experience with resin: necrons and finecast do not mix), it's cheap (cheaper over here than the Malagor model, actually) and it looks like you could do some fun stuff with it.

As for the rest: meh. I'm not a fan of the Centigor models (I still think the great weapon option is so much cooler that the loss in efficiency is worth it), the razorgor is one of the worst things to be made and I really dislike the chariot as well. I'd rather find a cheap way to kitbash them, especially because I want to make a speed-freak Beastmen army for Doo-Doos and giggles one day.

Count me in as a fan of the new model too.

The new Chaos Daemons WD codex update does make me excited for future possibilities like maybe updating the Rare costs/abilities, and I've heard rumors of Phil Kelly working on Tyranids.....

I'm distinctly 'meh' about this. Not worth of being a GBS IMO, but a decent bray shaman.

That was my first thought too, I was expecting something along the gorthor line. He looks IMO the best GBS, this one slightly underwhelming...but as a bray I shall have 3!!!!!!

I like that shaman, and will probably be getting one sooner or later. As others said, it's not exactly a gbs, but will be fitting as a normal one. Really about time we got an update for shamans...

After seeing a decent photo, I really like this mini. I thought I would anyway, but it was hard to tell. I really like that it is more minimal, but as stated nor really a GBS, but a Bray is a great offering from GW at least.

Owts better than nowt as the saying goes.

Think I'll get it just to prove that people are still interested in beastmen from gamesworkshop.

Having checked out the gamezone shaman on chariot I quite fancy getting that just to see how many different shaman models I can fit around my herdstone. Also the chariot itself will make a nice base for a tuskgor chariot I reckon.

Mr T is the new Nostradamus. Years before the new book was even released, he advised Beastmen modellers everywhere to abandon their jaberslythe modelling projects in protest at the new rules set with the eerily prophetic warning "Quit your Jibber Jabber". Spooky.

+1 to this! Still not a big fan of how they're detailing muscles, but it looks pretty neat smile.gif

I think that with the correct paintjob this mini will look better. For some reason GW is using this type of paintjob to showcase minis, but it actually makes them look poor.

Yep, they kinda make their minis to look like toys. Which they are indeed, but still tongue.gif

I don't know for sure, but I can only imagine that sales for the ghorgon/cygor kit were pretty poor. Hopefully GW realize this is due to the terrible rules and plethora of excellent alternative models that arose while they were twiddling their thumbs. But still, it won't look good on their cards if every beastmen release is met by underwhelming sales. Don't wanna give them a reason to consider beastmen for the scrapheap. So 2 shamans for me please! It is a nice model too, and fits well with the current plastic gors.

I'm a bit confused as to why they're not throwing out a plastic BSB, for which they don't even have a crappy old metal model available. Every beast player needs a BSB.

He looks more like a bray shaman than a great bray shaman to me...but I really love this model! I can't wait to add another bray shaman to my growing hoard (they're my favorite type of beastmen).
