empire tournament list, 2.5k combat list!

Ok so I am thinking of pulling out my empire troops for a tournament for the first time. Here is what I am thinking of bringing to a tournament requiring a special character:

Balthazar gelt
arch lector with 4+ ward 2+ rerollable AS on horse
Bsb on horse with 2+ armor save and banner of flame
Captain with 1+ armor speculum and sword of justice
L1 wizard with scroll
engineer
25 knights with std of disc escorting both captains and lector
3 mortars
2x5 pistoliers with champ & repeater
5 outriders with champ
stank

I figure deploy in refused flank, using the fast cav as redirectors to shoot and keep my main unit out of combat until my mortars magic and shooting can whittle down his units. Meanwhile the knights and stank will stay set up to countercharge anything getting too close. I have the captain with speculum and sword of justice that can beat the batsnot out of anything in a challenge, swap stats, have rerolls to hit from lector and rerolls to wound from sword. Plus, I can use magic to increase the unit's ability to hit, rduce enemy ws, etc. Gelt gets a +6 to cast, that means I only need to roll a 9+ to cast the highest spell, wiping out models on a 5+!

What do you think?

Pretty interesting list, look forward to seeing it on saterday. Will post mine in this thread as soon as I figure out what SC to use. By the way very diffrent Empire list, I like it.

What local gamer... is this Empire list designed to take out?

I do not think I can beat your list, it's like it was designed to take out Warriors of Chaos.

Are you kidding george? I don't have anything to take you on. I wanted to make a combat heavy empire list with a large unit of knights and I saw that the sc wizard was pretty nasty. Plus I love lor of metal and have been dying to try it out.

Btw, way to edit your list after taking a look at mine! Now whoes trying to take who out?

I had to adjust the units, it's the same list. That I posted asking to comp my army, I just had to free up points to bring in Throgg. I been going back and forth between Throgg and Wulfrik. Makes the Marauders have Super Ambush. You will love Lore of Metal, very under-rated lore. I love to play against it. So my Lv4 Tz Sorcerer Lord can copy the spells. [thanks to 3rd Eye of Tz] By the way Anthony use to run a list a little bit like this. Kevin Bolster always used Balthasar Gelt, he even did good running him at the Crossroads GT 2-3 year's ago.

I have to admit, I'm a bit disappointed with you running Empire. After all you are BeastBookorNot. You even posted your treason, on the Herdston. Young Ungors look up to you. Now your throwing them away, to run a Empire. The Empire that has hunted down and killed baby Ungors. This is a sad day for the Herdstone. I hope a Beast player shows up and teaches you a lesson. If not my WoC will step up to the plate.

Very cool. Since learning some good gold recipes I've wanted to paint a Balthazar Gelt up and the Lore of Metal is so rarely used it would be fun be the champion of that lore
