Rothgar, why shields on the rank and file minotaur? Being frenzy they get no parry save. I could see xhw in case they get flanked or even great weapon for harder hitting supporting attacks but I would think shields would be the weakest of the three choices.

Because your defenses are absolute crap without it. Even with the shield they're not good, but it's better than nothing. You could argue that the defenses don't matter if they can't hit you in CC, but you have to get there first, and a 5+ armor save holds up against some small arms fire. A 6+ save might as well not exist.

Reducing S3 or S3ap/S4 ranged wounds by 1/5 or 1/6 is pretty good for a 6% points increase. Often it means losing 1 or 2 minotaur instead of 2 or 3, preserving LoS! and attacks.
Just my opinion though! This post has been edited by daftgor on Mar 28 2012, 10:17 AM -------------------- ¯\(°_o)/¯ -Braaaaains!

Ok crazy idea popped in my head for a 1500 point army:
Rambull of doom Gorebull bsb with 4+ ward L2 shaman with either staff of sorcery or dispell scroll Core: 4x tuskgor chariots 2x5 raiders Special: 5 Minotaurs 5 harpies Razorgor -------------------- Ungor ninjas are all around us, practicing their deadly art of invisibility.

Have you ever tried this list?
It looks cool, but it could be hard to handle an opponent with 3 decent combat units. Just block them off 'till the mino's get in, that's the idea probably? This post has been edited by berserker_T0 on Aug 20 2012, 01:11 PM |

No i havent tried it yet. But basically at 1500 points there isnt a whole lot of enemy stuff on the table. 9 drops means i should be able to position the minotaurs for most damage, plus the rambull should be able to take many units on his own. 4 tuskgor chariots are more than enough to handle or at least scare an opponent into staying away while the minotaurss cause death and mayhem -------------------- Ungor ninjas are all around us, practicing their deadly art of invisibility.

I'm trying to find something I can go to a tourney with at 2000 pts. A minobus at 2K, however, is a challenge. On the other hand... I think it can also be quite a challenge to face one. I tried to make a list including a strong Gor horde as well as the Minotaur.
Some things I'm struggling with (the list below): - I take a risk by getting the actual Minotaurs in combat (having only 2 characters). Question: If I don't challenge with the Bloodkine, my opponent is able to hit the unit trough the champ. But can I put the Bloodkine in front so the Glittering Scales penalties would apply for hits on the unit? - In stead of going for the Beastlord, I could also go for a 206 to put in the Gor unit. The issue with that idea is that a Doombull leaves no room in the Lord slot to protect the GBS. Your thoughts/experiences are really appreciated -------- Lords 498 GBS Fencer's blades, Jagged Dagger Beastlord Armour of Destiny, Shield (4+/4+), Sword of Might, Party Hat Heroes 454 Gorebull BSB Preservation, Heavy Armour, Shield (4+/4+) Gorebull Gnarled Hide, Heavy Armour, Shield, Ramhorn Helm (1+/Parry), Warrior Bane, Ironcurse Icon Core 504 46x Gor Herd AHW 5x Ungor Raiders 5x Ungor Raiders Muso Tuskgor Chariot Special 543 7x Minotaurs Shield, Glittering Scales (on Bloodkine) 5x Harpies This post has been edited by berserker_T0 on Aug 20 2012, 10:00 PM |

If you have the champ and two gorebulls in the fron rank, they cannot attack the normmal rnf minotaurs until they kill one of the gorebulls or the champ. Thats the great thing about wound allocation in this addition they have to pick who they are throwing their attacks at.

I wouldn't run three characters in the front of that unit.
You could give the champion with the Init 10 sword and two other characters. If the champ dies before the Minos go, one steps up (so take 7 Minotaurs in the unit) and attacks as well. -------------------- |
