Hey guys,
I am trying to put a metal doom bull together (god I wish I waited for the resin..) I have most of the model assembled but its like the arms are just too far apart for the actual axe to be put in place... do you think its possible to head the arm up with something like a small gas torch or a soldering tool? The arms are just too thick to bend with pliers and I have just about lost patience with it.. any adice you can give would be appreciated. |

Not sure I'd recommend trying to heat it up, metal tends to go from solid to liquid quite fast. You don't want be on the wrong side of the melting points.
I haven't seen the kit in real life so I can't give hard facts. How far is the apart? Metal unfortunately has a tendency to shrink/deform during the process. I wonder, maybe part of the problem is in how the arms join the shoulder? I've found tiny differences here can have grave consequences when trying to align weapons in the hands. Eg the Bestigor are kinda infamous for that. And I'd point out that there's no guarantee waiting for the resin version would have helped you. The metal one is at leas complete, the resin version might as easily have come without arms or something... -------------------- |

could be right, I had to use a small layer of green stuff to get the shoulder and the arm to stick... so that might be throwing it off.. I never have much luck with the metal miniatures.

Post some pics, surely some one will be able to help.
Myabe you could leave it as it is, having the parts further away from each other, and fill the rest with GS... ? -------------------- Natural Beast - Children of the Great Beast God (my Beastman diary)

Yep had it on the ball, I removed the green stuff and it fit perfectly... going to have to wait ages for it to dry...

If anyone else has a similar issue I'd suggest doing a hand swap using the plastic minotaur parts. Xhw or hw+s are good options for a doombull but don't have an arm alignment problem.

I hope you're not using GS as a glue???
Even if you are going to do a lot of GS filling afterwards, always stick metal together with a bit of cyanoacrylate superglue. It'll keep everything in one place while the GS (or epoxy if anyone still uses it!) sets solid. Oh, and never put a gas torch or soldering iron near a metal mini, you will melt it and you may well burn yourself in the process. If you want to bend something metal, grip it carefully with pliers wrapped in cloth and apply slow steady pressure.
