Or at least, a soon-to-be new player. I've played about three games of WFB in 8th edition, and have finally got a friend or two interested enough that we're going to start playing semi-regularly. I'm leading off with a Dark Elf army, but having gone back and forth about a hundred times on what my second starting army will be (for loaning out to some other interested folks, switching things up, etc), I've settled on Beastmen. And I might get the 500pt 'learning' Beastmen done first, as I'm in the mood to paint them more so than I am the Dark Elves.

I was thinking DE too, but then decided that beastmen just looked a lot cooler. The difference in play styles seems appealing though, so they'd be a fun contrasting army to get to know. Welcome to the site!

Thanks for the kind welcome! I'm about to head out and grab a shaman and a wargor this afternoon, and try to get my battalion box cut&glued tonight. If the weather cooperates tomorrow or Thursday (not a sure thing in North Carolina this time of year) I'll try to get them primed up. I'm not a great painter but I think the basic beastmen models are so good they'll be forgiving.
I've always really liked the beastmen as a concept, I'm looking forward to playing some actual games with them! |

Welcome!! Also you could just prime them white and give them a black wash for an easy grey skin/fur that is what I did and drybrush afterwards. Or just prime and drybrush it's nice and has a decent finish.

Welcome to the 'stone! We have grits on this table and hard cider on the other. Make yourself at home.
Dark Elves? Eh. Close enough to Chaos, I suppose. I'll have my eye on you just to make sure you're not getting too soft on us. Silly elves and their "Khaine" and what-not... -------------------- |
