Title: Herdstone Awards 2011!
Description: Voting Thread

mrtn - February 19, 2012 01:56 PM (GMT)
Hello everyone and welcome to another Herdstone Awards ceremony – the 2011 edition.

Now for an explanation of the voting procedure. You have three weeks to vote – that is to say that voting ends on March 10th 11:59 PM (Stockholm Rude Time). To vote simply send a PM to the account VoterMan (Follow this link to get there). Then type up who you think deserves to win each category. For those, like myself, who are naturally lazy, I have typed up a template for you:

It explains the misfire rule. Cygor lobs stones underhanded no problem, cygor gets excited tries overhead throw.....'ead urtz...

Can we save this for herdstone awards nomination plox? I dunno the way.

An early nomination by TPG (Thread: http://z2.invisionfree.com/herdstone/index...showtopic=23533 Quote in reference to the impossible biomechanics of a cygor's overarm throw thanks to its horns).

Not that I applaude the current state of the overpriced horde army and the useless monsters with the now-excisting miniatures, but still... =)

Im just curious why some people's parents refer to them by their forum names?  I would feel a bit off if someone started calling me BBoN, especially my parents...

Hang on, you mean that's not your real name??? What sort of dodgy internet lurker are you!? :P

@daftgor, nice sleigh pun, but I think our talents are wasted here ;)

From the beastly gifts thread.

QUOTE
An unexpected and unwanted text message from a wireless company prematurely exploded a would-be suicide bomber’s vest bomb in Russia New Year’s Eve, inadvertently thwarting a planned attack on revelers in Moscow, according to The Daily Telegraph.

The would-be suicide bomber was planning to detonate a suicide belt bomb near Red Square, a plan that was foiled when her wireless carrier sent her an SMS while she was still at a safe house, setting off the bomb and killing her. The message reportedly wished her a Happy New Years, according to the report, which sourced the info from security forces in Russia. Cell phones are often used as makeshift detonators by terrorist and insurgent groups.

If true, the SMS might be the only time that a wireless carrier’s SMS message has ever been useful.

The authorities suspect the female bomber was part of the same Jihadist group that is suspected of hitting Moscow’s airport on Monday with a suicide bomb attack that killed 35.

Why don't people write letters any more? They won't explode in your face. :coffee:

Congrats....but it doesn't look like it's a very good mini for doing conversions. Pretty perfect out of the box though.

Fire will only return, when the Beasts learn there proper place. Your punishment for not excepting Chaos Warriors, as your human Masters. Has now lead to the Chaos Gods [Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch & Slaanesh] turning there backs on you. With that the Chaos Gods further punish you by taking away fire. You should be thanking me, for giving you a difficult and hard to play with army book. Winning a game is way over rated. Now because I was so busy playing 40K, I had to rush to finish your book. Your lucky to even have a new army book to play with. If you had your old book, you still could be winning games like Brettonia player's.

Did a quick edit for you as two names were stuck together. :)

Thank you for getting this going!

daftgor - February 24, 2012 12:14 PM (GMT)
Dudes, you forgot to include Funniest Member in the template!

It should fall between rules master and most welcoming member.

It's probably because he's nowadays too serious to ever be considered. It clearly is directed against us two.

Maybe we should considering having the guys over on UE do a little assassination?
(I've learned a lot in my short time as a Skaven collector!)

daftgor - February 24, 2012 03:53 PM (GMT)
Perhaps you're right and it was purposefully skipped as he felt eclipsed by the gravity of our hilarity (though I'm sure I mrtn was nominated).

So, my side-project has been Empire (brown colour scheme, naturally)... my suggestion was going to be politic his downfall but assassination certainly sounds tempting/easier!

Here's a question for the ages - can I vote for myself? 'Cause I totally will. :P

Shadespyre - March 1, 2012 12:49 AM (GMT)
I chose not to vote for myself, though I may have chosen not to vote for someone else in the same category either... ;)

I did last year. (Though I actually thought about it and decided that I was really not just voting for myself, I would have voted me if me wasn't me anyway)

Here's what my friend the irascible politician would say. "If you can't even vote for yourself (thinking you are the best man for the job), how can you expect others to?"
Although it's a slightly different situation.

Because my automatic thinking is always, oh I couldn't vote for myself. How presumptuous.
