Title: Gauging Interest
Description: What do people want?

TraitorKing - November 6, 2009 07:39 PM (GMT)
As you may or may not have noticed, I have been placed in charge of the Roleplayer's Haven.
Consequently, I'm trying to regenerate the forum to what it once was.
Yet one question needs to be asked, what do people want?

In-depth roleplaying games heavy on narrative?
Mafia games?
Arenas of Death?
Something new?

As well as know what people want to see/play, is there anybody who'd like to run any games?

I'll look forward to your input,
TK

I never got a good idea what the idea for this forum was in the first place.
I'm a quite active (pen and paper) role player usually, but I only play Swedish games.

Would it be possible to have some kind of dungeon crawl or something? HeroQuest by internet? :)

Hmmm, never played an RPG over the internet. Could be interesting. I'd have to see the schedule before I could commit to something like that. If that's even what this is about, I don't think I've ever been in this forum before. :ph43r:

Perhaps a mafia game to start things, they're easier to sort out than the RPGs.

I'm also down for helping with the writing, would be nice to be involved in one of these things and have it actually finish ;).

Up for all of the above - perhaps browsing through the older topics and checking responses can be a gauge as to what is rather successful?

I'm going to open up the old forums for a little while until TK's settled in and starting things so people can read how things work.

Ah, so that's why they're visible. Personally I think it would be better without them, at least until this forum get really busy. It's better with one forum with five new threads, than five forums with on new thread each. IMNSHO.

I'd be up for anything, I might even have enough time to run an RPG at the mo!

Well, glad to see everyone's still interested.

Keep your eyes open, mafia game coming soon!

Perhaps a D&D game. If everyone trusts each other, as in they don't think one guy's lying about his dice rolls, and there's a good dungeon master, I'm sure you could pull it off. I only have the v. 3.5 rulebook, though... I'm sure we could tailor to everyone's needs though.

Beastlord Karankawa - November 26, 2009 02:42 AM (GMT)
DM / GM can just make all the rolls as needed. :)

The Albino - November 26, 2009 06:06 AM (GMT)
Ah, you just made it easier- but It still all boils down to trust. If you don't trust the people or DM you're playing with, it's no fun. You don't want a DM who has a bitter rivalry and evil family curse passed on by MIIIIILLLLLIONS of generations. He'd fake all your rolls and make you fail. Because of the rivalry part. Not the family curse.

I really would enjoy an AoD. I can also help with it, because I organized them a lot on my old forum.

TraitorKing - November 26, 2009 01:46 PM (GMT)
I'd love to get an AoD going.
Only problem is my lack of books, namely any current army books or any rule book beyond 6th ed ;)

If somebody would like to run one in collaberation with me (alternating the fluff and whatnot) or run their own, then I'm up for it

I also like the DnD idea, and whilst I've not played myself, again, it'd be great for somebody to set one up (perhaps with simpler rules to accomodate for the online aspect?).
