BUILD: Petite
HAIR COLOUR: Dark brown
EYE COLOUR: Hazel
TATTOOS & PIERCINGS: Brodie has a small tattoo of a black and green nautical star on her left wrist. She had the tattoo done last year after the death of her sister in a car accident. Possibly a point in her life where Brodie had felt completely helpless and lost the nautical star is often seen to reminiscent of compass rose as well as being a symbol for guidance. Her sister had a deep love for water another reason why the nautical star in Brodie’s mind became important as it is often a symbol used by people who live their lives on water and their reliance on celestial navigation. It symbolises Brodie’s struggle to find a sense of direction in her life.

OVERALL HISTORY:

Youngest child to Georgia and Luke Brodie was born in Chicago and in to a devout Christian family. Brodie was born a healthy, but small baby as was widely considered to be the ‘runt of the litter’ by both her family and the family friends. However Brodie never really took it in a negative way, she always saw it as strangely affectionate in a way. Both herself and her big sister Alisa were dotted upon as children by their parents and grandparents as well as close family friends many of whom were deeply involved with the church. Brodie grew up spending a large amount of time in the church community, she went to Sunday school every week, went to the daycare center run by the church as well as her father being on the church treasury.

Brodie and her sister never particularly got to spend a lot of time with her parents both worked two minimum wage jobs to put food on the table. Her mother a waitress and cleaner, her father a delivery driver for two companies Brodie remembers as a young child never really getting to spend time with either of them. However the time they did all spend together was treasured, her parents made every effort to take Alisa and Brodie for days out whenever they can, one she remembers vividly is going to the a beach on the south shore of Lake Michigan. It was a hot summers day and most of it was spent running up and down the beach with her big sister, building sandcastles and running in and out of the water to keep cool. She remembers the water being freezing despite the soaring temperatures and it being crystal clear.

The two sisters were close despite the four year age gap mostly because they watched out for each other. Growing up on the shores of the lake it became a love for both of them, as they grew in to their teens they would take trips down to the south shores as often as they could together. They used to take detours cycling home from school in the summer so they could cycle down the lakeshore paths despite the lack of beaches in Chicago itself. Her home city is a place that’s special to her, the skyline always seems to bring a strange comfort to her, and she’s in love with the city itself.

In school Brodie was a quite and yet clever girl who showed promise from an early age, during her early school years she didn’t make many friends, mostly because she was shy. A lot of the time school was outside her comfort zone, suddenly she was sharing her space and time with people who she didn’t knew very well where as in that tight night church community she had known the people her entire life. However she adjusted all be it slowly but she did in the end a lot of it due to her big sister making sure she was alright. Slowly as she was at school the reality of her life started to dawn on her, the concept of rich and poor and the weight of fitting in. Despite growing up in a low income family Brodie and her sister never went without, and they both understood without having to be told that they weren’t going to have all the things everyone else had.

It was when Brodie was fifteen her father died; the death of her father shocked her family and the Christian community she had grown up in along with her faith. Her father was murdered when someone tried to rob the truck he was driving, he was shot twice though the heart, the cold and callous murder was public knowledge receiving widespread local press coverage. Brodie always felt that the media fed off the fact it was a nice hardworking Christian family that underwent such a tragedy however Brodie’s anger was more finely refined for the authorities who have to this day failed to catch his killer.

The death of her father had a huge impact on Brodie and it mostly took the form of ignoring anyone with a position of authority, teachers, her mother, her sister, members of extended family the lot. However within time it healed, while she isn’t exactly over the death of her father, it isn’t the first thing she thinks of every day anymore for which she is highly thankful off. Another blow was dealt when her sister died in a tragic car accident, along with the four other occupants of the car she died at the scene after a head on collision with another car.

After her sisters death Brodie cut herself off from the rest of the world, she tends to keep to her self after all she does not want to get involved in a holy war that her dreams have been playing in her mind. She saw this coming long ago, the rising of hell, the battles fought and lost, the ones won and the ones to come. It all melts in to her music, an outlet for what has happened and what is going to happen. Brodie had never believe she has known the future, or been able to predict it…but she knows one thing…the dreams came through, they came true…and now that meaning is taking hold of them. Well what about the nightmares are they going to come true as well? She can’t do anything about it, so she just keeps ploughing though hoping that one day, it will all fall in to place.
