BECAUSE I GOT BORED YET AGAIN. SURPRISED? NO SERIOUSLY, ARE YOU?

You can review stuff here. If you want, it can also be a short review or even just a score out of 5, 10, 100, 9000 whatever....

Short reviews

TEKKEN 5 - PS2 - 8.9/10
Super deep, fast paced, awesome graphics and sound and pandas - if you own a PS2 and don't already have this game, (unless you have Tekken DR on PSP or PS3) your friends have reason to call you "gay".
===

Burnout Paradise - PC - 9.0
The online is a bit disappointing (too much free room makes it hard to reach each other quickly) and there's no splitscreen even for the console versions but the insane amount of speed and fun found here makes up for it.
===

Unreal tournament 3 - PC - 9.5
Thanks to awesome mods and the titan pack, this game is probably the best multiplayer shooter ever made. You WILL however need to update it from version 1 though, it's just too buggy and shitty otherwise...
EDIT: oh, and if you know how to hook up 2 or more (up to 4) controllers (I use PS2 controllers but I recommend 360 ones because it's easier to get it working) to a strong enough computer and use a code called "debugcreateplayer 1", you can play splitscreen ON A COMPUTER! and I have done entire matches with friends with it. awesomeness.
===

Soul Calibur 3 - PS2 - 8.2
It's just simply not as deep as Tekken (combo wise) but there still is a lot of awesome to be found here. Voice acting IS NOT one of them. Making your own character is, though.
===

Guilty Gear X2 #RELOAD - PS2 - 9.0
Once you figure out there's more then button mashing, this is probably the best and most chaotic 2D fighter ever made. Get Ancient core plus though, because that's more up to date.
===

Bomberman land touch! 2 - DS - 7.3
Bomberman. For DS. With stupid minigames. And a really wrong sounding title. And once you realize there's a "2" in front of that title, you'll be wondering "how the fuck did this get through the classification system?". ANYWAY... It's got normal bomberman with download AND online play up with to 8 people (online is up to 4 though), so that's good enough for me.
===

Trackmania DS - DS - 6.7
I don't recommend you waste your time with this. Long ago I used to praise this game but I then realized that was only because it has "trackmania" in the title. The DS simply cannot handle huge custom made tracks and the psychics are different from the PC version too. It can be fun playing the default tracks, but it's not really trackmania... Oh, and NO ONLINE DAMN IT...
===

Trackmania Forever - PC - 8.8
Play Nations forever first (it's free). If you like it, buy United forever, if not, look into United forever anyway. You should at least own nations forever because with the asking price of NOTHING for it, it's stupidly awesome. And United forever WILL get you hooked to it.
===

Alone in the dark - WII - 3.5
Quite honestly, perhaps the worst game I have EVER played... Everything this game says it is, it is not. Especially the "cliche" and "promise" parts. And I just found out that the main characters name is EDWARD thanks to Wikipedia. GO FIGURE....
===

SoulBlade - PS1 - 5.2
Even though NOW it's really, really shit, it's perhaps one of the most memorable games ever made mainly because of this intro (It STILL has that awesome feeling to it, and it's quite old now) and it's unique fighting system. It still has horrid voice acting and Siegfried is pretty much CDI link (and in soul calibur 3 I think he's awesome. Here he just seems.... Gay....) but it's a very important part of the soul calibur series and you just simply have to respect this was awesome back then. I loved this game when I only had a PS1, so there you go...

Review Neverwinter. And Zelda. And Diablo. Something everyone will know.

And this is an order.

--------------------
From darkness to darkness, my voice echoes in the emptiness
From this world to the next, my voice cries with life
From darkness to darkness, I shout. Beneath my feet, all is made firm
Time that flows, hold in your course
Because by fate even the gods are cast down, weep ye all with me.

Neverwinter nights - PC - 8.2
This game is really deep (especially storywise). It uses the D&D system (which I didn't even notice until I looked at the box. It feels a lot like diablo to me.) with all your little leveling up systems and points and stuff. There is a huge town to explore, and it is fun to explore. EVEN after the first chapter I'm pretty sure there's more lands to explore. The story and missions itself, however, are a little overwhelming. Sometimes you'll reach a mission where you just NEED a better sword or a higher level, otherwise the enemy will just simply rape you. HOWEVER the story wasn't the reason I bought the game. It was it's campaign editor/creator. You can quite literally make your own full fledged story and missions. You can also make your own swords and shields and armor and whatever to pretty much godmod AND you CAN use these in the normal game. Teh lawl. There's also online too, which I can't really get working because I can't get the updates working for some reason... If you are a D&D or RPG nerd, dork, fanatic, snob, ect., you should already own this game. To me, it's a little too overwhelming for me to play.
===

Legend of Zelda - NES (Played on collectors edition for GC) - 7.0
This game is so old, but it somehow is still fun. You don't know where the fuck to go, but exploring the land helps you actually know. It's kind of a simplistic RPG but it's awesome anyway. You might need a walk through to actually finish this.
===

Diablo - PC - 6.8
It's also old, but I kind of prefer to play this over NWN because it's a little more straight forward. It's a dungeon crawler with nearly the same elements of gameplay that is in NWN. It also has a memorable boss called "the butcher". This game is to be honest more fun with friends, but they shut down the online servers ever since. You can only do LAN now. You should also probably get D2, because that one's obviously better.

Right, so I'm finished. My categories are gameplay, story, graphics, and playability.

Gameplay:

The style is that of a third person shooter somewhat similar to deadspace. They intigrate the ghost capturing system into the game really well. It's not just sucking a ghost up like in luigi's mansion. You have to wear it down, grab it, slam it around a little to daze it, then lay out a trap and try to manuever the ghost over it.

Now, ghost catching aside there's also a lot of other game mechanics that are stuck into the game that work really well. You have this thing called the PKE Meter, which works kind of like Samus' scan visor, though it can also be used to collect cursed artifacts. The capture stream can also be used to lift and move objects. The "Slime Tether" can be used to connect objects (ergo, dragging two hovering land masses together.) The slime itself is used to close portals and neutralize the corrosive black slime which is nothing like the corruption from Prince of Persia. And I could go on.

Now, the gameplay isn't perfect, by far. I played casual mode so I could get though it quick and get here, but the fact that I haven't died once has nothing to do with it. You don't die. You get knocked down. The catch is that if you're hit hard enough you're permanently knocked over until another ghostbuster runs in and helps you up. In fact, I think the only way you can die is by crossing the streams for too long (you can do that, by the way.) I also noticed that they didn't put much into hiding those invisible game barriers. At one point the player character is blocked by a lump of coral that doesn't even come up to his knee.

So, overall I'd give the gameplay 9/10

Alright, on to the story. I'll make it short because I don't want to spoil too much about the game.

The player character, who remains nameless (His official name is "Rookie," but the Ghostbusters call him slick, new guy, ace, young blood, ect.) has been hired by the ghostbusters to test their newer experimental equipment. As chance would have it, as soon as you walk into their office a huge wave of ghost power.... light.... stuff surges through new york. Chaos ensues as the GBs try to find out what the hell is going on.

One neat thing is the way some of the background characters in the first and second movies suddenly become important in this story. There was one character who was only mentioned in the first movie who's pretty much the most important character aside from the ghostbusters themselves.

The only complaint I have about the story, (this could also fit in the playability section) is that it's too damned short. I mean, I've finished it in three days. Then again when I get a new game I play it like crazy, so... yeah.

Story 8/10

Okay, Graphics.

I got the realistic version that's available for the PS3 and 360. I'll have to say, it does have really excellent graphics. The detail is perfect (except for the teeth, which look a smidge too far apart to me) and everything happens in realtime. Ergo, you cast a shadow that moves instead of a dark circle at your feet, and if you blow up a marshmallow minion (epic), your face will be covered in lukewarm marshmallow.

I'll have to give the graphics a perfect 10/10

And finally the part where everything counts. Playability.

Despite how short the game is, I find it really enjoyable. The game is a really fun play, and they throw in more than enough extras to keep you happy even after beating the game. Hell, even if I've cleared a level of all it's secrets I still go back and play it again because it's so damn fun.

Oh, and I should mention a little something. Despite the fact that both of the ghostbusters movies are comedies... this game has some pretty creepy shit going on at some points.

For example, I remember during one level you enter a room that used to be a nursery, and without spoiling anything I can tell you that the game suddenly goes all silent hill on you. Swear to god that creeped me out bigtime.

Playability 9/10

Overall this game is about a 9/10 for me. It's big drawbacks are in the gameplay department, and the fact that it's a relatively short game. I'd still recommend it to anyone. Especially fans of the Ghostbusters franchise.

cool. Oh right, forgot about these Guilty Gear games...

Guilty Gear Isuka - PC - 7.8
They changed way too much just to get 4 players in, and it's not as likeable as X2. All the important stuff is there (except for instant kills), but having to turn around MANUALLY and less visual pretties will probably put you off. If this just stuck to one lane fighting (a just simply annoying new feature that's supposed to make sure you know who you're fighting. basically it's like having two games going at one time and you can literally jump into the other game and leave the one you were in before and vice versa.) and automatic turning around, I would like this much more. Not more then X2, though, because it's just way too much. Using the keyboard sucks too (lucky for me I use PS2-to-USB controllers).
===

Guilty Gear Dust Strikers - DS - 5.6
WTF is this shit? It's not even Guilty Gear anymore! Why did you rape it with SSB, ARC system works? Seriously why?

More:

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas MultiPlayer - PC - 8.8
San Andreas IS very good (it is better then Chinatown wars, but still comes close), but the version I have of it is fucked up, so it wouldn't be fair if I reviewed something that is partially screwed up because of other issues. So instead I'm reviewing this. It feels like a typical MMO game, but there is this really cool server (GamerX, it's called) that allows you to screw around however you want. Want to go to the beach? You can teleport. Want to fly a plane? Spawn one for yourself. Want to shoot the crap out of everyone? Go ahead. Want to jump off a mountain? Teleport then go right ahead. Only issue is that even though you can have up to 200 players, even if you were to fill that up, you'll find out that most of the island is still empty. That's probably only because San Andreas is fucking huge. Still plenty of fun though. Burnout should have had more players like this game here. That would have helped a hell lot more with finding someone fast and overall have more fun online.
===

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars - DS - 9.5
And since I'm on the topic of GTA anyway, quite simply if you own a DS, you should already have this game. Don't fear about restrictions, it's still GTA in pretty much every way including odd jobs like Taxi driving. It's pretty funny too. And funny is a good thing. Also a random fact, it's coming to PSP soonish too now, if you're interested why this game is so great but only have a PSP.
===

Micro Machines V4 - DS - 5.5
The music alone will drive you insane if you play it long enough. And the game itself isn't that great. And the presentation is awful. Go buy V3 if you want to play MM. It's much better in almost everyway and doesn't feel like a home-brew game.

Xenogears: PSX
Oh my fucking god, Xenogears. I haven't even finished disc one, in fact, I don't think I'm even halfway through disc 1, with how long people say the game is, and I can already say that if not a must-have, is at least a must-play for ANYONE who is into RPGs, Sci-Fi/Giant Robots, or even Playstation owners period!

THis is a very premature review, but I already know where I stand on this game.

Graphics - 8/10 - Let's get the shit I don't really care about out of the way first. I gotta say, the artistic direction is BOLD. Being made by the same people who whipped out the masterpieces FF7 and FF8, you'd expect Square to really press the PSX's graphical capabilities. While they did incorporte the high-res CGI scenes on occasion, they tried something very different. ANIME. Anime and games have always gone hnd-in-hand pretty much sice the Super Nintendo hit. Xenogears actually had true 3D environments, but the use of anime-styled 2D characters in 3D environments doesn't quite mix. With how the camera angles can greatly differ, the 2D characters don't change perspective according to camera angle, and can sometimes become confusing, and in some cases, can leave you disoriented. Overall, it gets an 8/10 just for daring to take on a different artistic direction.

Sound - 6/10
I have to say, the msical score for Xenogears doesn't strike you as much as the average Final Fantasy soundtrack, but it really fits the game itself. Would I put songs from XG on my MP3 player? No. But in the game, it just flows, kindof like a case of Jet Grind Radio.

Gameplay - 10/10
Wow. Just... Wow. Rather than telling your characters "do this" or "cast that on such," or "run the hell away," you choose a different combinations of any of your special moves. And even when you can't combine, you can still press a sequence of buttons after selecting "attack" to perform special moves. OR, you could conserve your combo points, thus converting those into AP, and combine one or two or however many special attacks for massive damage. THe gameplay is amazing, andlike the artstyle, is VERY different, daring to go in a different direction.

Storyline - HOLY FUCK/10
I can't even put it in numbers! Straight up, the plot, the setting, the fct that after FFVII brought Sci-fi into RPG's (and made it work) it went to the next level with GIANT FRIGGIN' ROBOTS, is just amazing. A lot of people overlooked it, which sucks, because if you play hrough even the opening scene and the first hour or so of the game, you WILL be HOOKED. As simply as I can put it, think somewhat of a cross between Gundam and Evangalion, made into a videogame, and made by the same geniuses that made Final Fantasy. Sounds awesome? Oh yes. Lives up to it? Definately. The only thing is, the story itself is LONG and progresses somewhat slowly, but that allows us to savor it all the more.

Overall - 9/10
If you own a PSX, or "magic,"
BUY IT, "MAGIC" IT, WHATEVER YOU NEED TO DO TO PLAY IT.
