Torman drew his blade, it glimmered as it scrapped out of its sheathe. "Kailash?!" He shouted, pulling forth his katana. He pointed the sharp blade at the ghastly figure. Taking another sniff, he spat. "No... you're not Kailash..."
The figure gave a smile, his disturbingly dirty fangs showing. "Tha's enough talk... you don't know who I am, do ye?" The figure asked. The figure jumped to a tree, then further down the path. Torman weaved his way through his dumbfounded mercenaries, "Stop!" He shouted. The figure turned again, grinning with his fangs popping out of his mouth. Torman turned to the others, "Jauffre, get these laggards moving! We can't let him escape!" He ordered. Jauffre nodded, raising his spear he shouted a battle cry, "After him!" He announced. |

"After him!"
Yarin heard the command, and started sprinting after the others. Of course, he was a mouse, so he had to sprint his hardest just to keep up with the rest of them. He picked up his feet, one after the other, hoping desperately that he wouldn't trip and fall or make a fool out of himself in any other way. The figure continued to run down the path ahead of them. It seemed like a creature he had seen before, yet he just couldn't put his paw down on it. It was a little bigger than a wolf, more muscular, and probably more powerful. It definately seemed more threatening than a wolf, yet somehow Yarin knew the species must've been closely related, such as that between a mouse and a rat. Oh well... Yarin thought. No time to think about this silly matter now. Yarin picked up the pace, though he was growing tired. The short burst of energy he had before was beginning to wear out. Up ahead he saw the figure stop short of the end of the path. The others caught up to him and circled around him, weapons out and pointed toward the center. Yarin decided to do the same, barely squeezing into the tight circular formation. |

"Who are you?!" Torman shouted.
The ghastly figure's reply was merely another grin. It made Torman's grip tighten on the sword, "You're the bandit, I presume?" He began, walking in closer. "You might as well give up running... you'll find it quite impossible to escape." Torman stated. |
