A group of eleven beasts were encamped out in the feilds of Blissban. They were all huddled around a single fire, large enough for them all to circle around it and still have room for others to sit down with them.
One of them was at the front, with one other sitting to his right. The others were talking with eachother, as the one and his right gazed into the fire.
The both was clothed in a black hooded cloaks, with a necklass of silver dangling from their necks, one's arms were crossed, hidden under his arms. their black hoods covered their faces, the cloaks reached down to their footpaws. The sleeves were large and dangled at the end. The one's paws were gloved, and his footpaws were booted.
"... Syrus...." The beast right from the other said. "What is it?" "The others are becoming restless.... They want some action..." The other said. Syrus -the cloaked beast- stood up and threw his hood down. His famous blue mask covered his face, but most knew he was a rat. He grinned under it, and looked towards the others. "Well then? You want action?! You want a fight?! I'll fight any of you here if you wish." Syrus shouted to the other nine. They all shook their heads and stood up, "We're tired of just sitting here! We need something to do!" One of them, a ferret with straps around his chest and shoulders, and a large dirk on his belt replied. Syrus sighed, "We already have a job to do! Don't forget that we still have to find a certain group." Syrus said. The beast next to him stood up as well. "The Ki Ji Ken is here, in Blissban. We all have been ordered to 'take care' of them, and rid our client of these so called 'freedom fighters.'" The beast said. "And who says that they wouldn't be lurking around us as we speak?!" The ferret asked. Syrus shook his head.
"Do you doubt my power? Darel, that's unlike you." Syrus said. The ferret -Darel- spat, "Don't try to pin some ignorance on me, I know your game..." Darel said.
Syrus turned to the other beast. He took his hood off as well. "Legix, make sure they stay where they are, if any of them decide to... 'scury off', do what you can to simply put them to sleep... I don't want them dead..." Syrus said. "Yes... what are you going to do?" Syrus chuckled, "I'm going to find a little friend, hiding in the trees..." Syrus whispered.

Yarin lay in bed, unable to sleep. He didn't know why, but he had a million and one things on his mind. He stared at the large picture of a meadow in a forest mounted on his wall. There were birds flying by, gentle and elegant. There were butterflies and bees, buzzing about without a care. There were hundreds of plants, beautiful all in their own way.
But looking at this just made him think more. He rolled over onto the other side, facing the window. He looks outside, seeing the weather grey walls, slowly sinking into the ground from age. The fields around the Fort were black in the night, the only light cause by the moon, shining softly in the darkened skies.
Suddenly, something caught his attention. A faint glow coming from the edge of the fields. Smoke rose from it, so he knew it once it was a fire. Perhaps lightning had struck it in last night storm? But somehow, this fire looked fairly controlled. It had been created by artificial means.
He pulled off the sheets and slowly crept out of bed. Tip-toeing ever so gently to the door, he turned the hazey bronze colored knob in a counterclockwise direction and slid the door open.
A loud creaking sound burst into the air. He slammed the door shut and ran back to bed. He waited there for a while, eyes closed, still as a stone. He heard no sound, no worried footsteps...nothing. Soon he knew it was alright to approach the door and try again. He silently walked over to it and slowly pushed it open once more. The creaking was quieter this time, but his wary eyes still shifted from side to side, looking for any sign of movement. When he saw nothing, he knew it was safe. He started his way down the hall, going to find his friend Gregory to come with him. As he found the door to his friend's room, he pulled it open and crept inside.
He tapped his friend lightly on the shoulder. "Gregory," he shouted softly in a whisper. "Gregory, wake up!"
"Wha--?" his mousely friend said, turning to face Yarin. He rubbed his eyes, still half asleep. "What is the meaning of waking me at this hour?"
"Gregory, look out the window! There's a fire, a campfire most likely. Let's go check it out."
"Are you mad?" his friend exclaimed. "At this time of night? It's probably nothing, just go back to bed!"
"No! What if it's danger? I can't just warn the others before I know if it's danger, they'll get worried about nothing. We should go look and make sure it's harmful before we tell anyone. Now come on!" Yarin pulled his friend out of bed, and he landed on the ground with a soft "plop". "Now get some clothes on and let's go!"
Gregory dressed quickly, grabbed a small dagger, and they were off.

OOC: Someone else can play Gregory if they want to.

Legix squinted, he had seen something through the mist.
"Hrmm...?"
Darel raised his brow, "What is it?"
"Douse the fire... We have free kills coming towards us." Legix answered.
Darel nodded, and gave the signal. The others threw buckets of muddy water onto the flames. The flames sizzled and died, leaving little smoke to escape from the now soaked wood and kindling.
Legix drew his dirk, and scurried to hide in the shadows. Darel and the rest broke off, going the opposite direction. If they were going to jump who was coming, they'd need to overwhelm them. Could it be the Ki Ji Ken? No... it seemed too obvious, this was possibly a curious woodlander... foolishly coming out to find who was in this "camp." How unfortunate... their curiosity would be the death of them. Legix would think.
He peered through the trees, watching for them, whoever "they" were.
Legix heard a thud behind him, and Syrus appeared next to him. "Did you handle the one watching us?"
Legix asked.
"It was a foolish scout from the Ki Ji Ken... yes. They dared to fight me. We know the results..."
Syrus mocked.
