Rule Query, Extra points and field equipment

I didn't know where to ask because it isnt a complaint or a suggestion this so i was wonder if you could answer a rule query?

I do understand that extra points are issued for further mech advancement but is additional install done in character?

Also if an opponent NPC or Player drops a weapon such as a shield if I were to pick it up it would take a hard point until the end of the fight when i dispose of it, do i have to have the point available to use it at that point? And if i keep it is it a free part?

to answer your questions yes you have to rp every upgrade to your mech once your upgrade has been approved.

and on the second part usually when a shield or weapon is dropped it's ussually because it's broken or destroyed so i'd be inclined to say that scavenging mechs isn't possible unless exelio says diffrent
