Doom 3
the horror comes to Xbox

Yes confirmed its coming and with more features then our PC buddies have XP. It comes complete with a co-op version of the campaign that PC will never have as well its coming collector’s edition packed with Final Doom and Doom II. Originally due out in December it was delayed until January then February then March and now the release date is set at April 4 of this year

The campaign on PC as I have heard gets repetitive hopefully it will be improved on the Xbox version. For 10$ you get two extra games, so I will obviously be doing that. Campaign of what I have played of the PC one looks superb and it if you like horror games this game should tickle your biscuit. The graphics unlike the PC counterpart will all be equal and the same. The LIVE feature brings another big online frenzy to Xbox Live. It will have the Death-match feature and should be great fun… can’t wait to play system link 16 player *drools*

According to various lucky sources that have tested the game, the Gameplay is quite similar to hat of halo 2. the biggest difference being instead of left trigger to lob a grenade its speed burst, that’s gonna take a lot of getting use to on a personnel note. Left trigger has always been grenades or alternate weapons. Gah they should fix that!! Other then that it looks like your basic Gameplay. Another feature used to add “fear” to the battle is the absence of a flashlight on your weapon. It will add “fear for you won’t be able o see when an enemy will pop out of nowhere making you wet your pants. Right trigger will be shooting and you’ll pick up tricks as you go according to Microsoft representatives.

One word horror: in a good way that’s what this game will hopefully. This game should because you jump and piss your pants and wanting more of it. The Doom franchise is quite an established one and this title is one to come to one of gen’s consoles. There was Doom 64 for those who don’t remember it just wasn’t very good at all. This one looks to change; despite constant delay it should fix the glitches that Doom 3 had on PC. Delaying isn’t a bad thing if it makes the game no looked rushed add features and more things that go bump in the night. But honestly don’t we all like nightmare games, if we didn’t their wouldn’t be silent-hill series…

Of what I have seen of the screen shots and trailers the graphics on this game look superb. The detail of your enemies faces and the pain they are in some cases looks astounding. This game looks to be pushing the limits of the Xbox in every sense of the word. When a creatures head gets blown off some of the stuff you see will gross you out. Vicarious visions put a lot of detail into the enemies and the cut scenes so they look as real as possible. Overall the graphics should blow you away.

Well I know I’m looking forward to this game and can’t wait until its new release date April 4 2005. Until then I can only look at screens and trailers and speculate. The review for this game should be up within a week of when it comes out as that should give me enough time to beat it and look at the features of the collector’s edition. Until then enjoy the screens ? courtesy of gamespot.com.
