QUOTE (ShadowRaven @ Jan 17 2005, 09:51 AM)
[COLOR=red]I think that Brother Blood is a much better archenemy for the Titans than Slade. Personally, I didn't care much for the Faceless One (my nickname for Slade). For one thing, he turned two of my favorite Titans into his pawns, only to have them turn on him (Robin subjected himself to the probes in "Apprentice Part 2" and threatened to destroy himself. Terra fought against the power of her suit and threw him into a pit of lava in "Aftershock Part 2.")

At least with Blood, we see his face and his identity isn't obscured. dry.gif

Robin's face and identity are obscured. Not many seem to have a problem with that. dry.gif

Plus, hero/villain/hero? creates angst, and angst + characters = more character depth. If done correctly, at least.

And as for Slade... meh. He's been around longer and keeps coming back. I rather disliked the Titans East Pts and Wavelength and them, so that probably taints my view of Blood further.

Masks are no trouble to me.

Titans east was a wonderful two part, but that bleeding ending utterly pissed me off! Here is Brother blood, ripping Cyborg literally apart, and then suddenly Cyborg pulls a super saiyan! What the bloody hell!

I whould seriously like to see Blood come back with new and bigger toys to make up for that insult.

Now that Slade serves Trigon it diminishes his image a little. Slade should break free of him and return to the realm of the living. Which brings an interesting question up. How did he activate the mask when he was burried under hardend rock?

I want to see Blood and Slade fight, plain and simple.

That was mostly a plot device made for the cartoon, to give a (somewhat) simple reason/explaination of how Trigon made it to Raven. It's a a giant plot device.
Titans East pt. 2, simply put, the ending was a cop-out. It's difficult to have a story like that and have it either in 1.5 or 1 hours without severe editing and/or adjustments, esp. if you are working with a TV-7 rating.
Although the first time I saw "Birthmark", I just looked to my sister and said, "What the heck is this rated, anyway?"
Even Disney's Kim Possible goes to a G rating occasionally. And she may have a bare midrift, but the most intense thing to happen is hand-to-hand combat, which T.T. has more than its share of.
Parton the (somewhat) off-topic comparison, if you will...
