The Volturi have spent the last three hundred years hunting down werewolves. As a result, very few remain in the world. A group of twelve that could very well be the last survivors have been on the run for the past eight years, starting with two and gaining more wolves as they travelled. They cannot stop in the same place for more than a few weeks for fear of being captured. The last time the lycans tried to stand their ground and fight, they lost eight of their members as well as numerous innocent bystanders. The vampire count? One.
Now, at the end of the country, the lycans are at their wits end. They thought Los Angeles would be safe but it was not. They are heading north, towards Canada, to try to hide in the snowy wilderness. It is a last chance act of desperation to keep themselves alive. They know that they cannot run forever and they cannot win. They refuse to give up hope, even though there is none to be had. Their alpha continues to push them forward while searching desperately for a plan. On a map, a small town by the name of Forks looms. Close to the full moon, the pack must stop in order to shift properly. Luckily, the small motel they encounter is well-surrounded by the woods.
While in the woods, they run into another pack, which causes some confusion. Surely a pack this large would have been heard of by now? But no, they smell different and they move different too. They can't be lycans, but what are they? The question answers itself the next day when Sam Uley meets with the pack leader and discusses their imminent peril. Sam offers the pack a place to stay in La Push, figuring there is safety in numbers.
With the Volturi hot on their heels and the two packs now aligned, what will become of the last pack of lycans in the world? And what will their involvement with the Volturi do to the Cullen's treaty?
Now that they have come to La Push, the lycans have had a bit of an issue- The shapeshifteres drew vampire attention. After fighting the Volturi, the vampires and lycans came to an agreement for now. The two would allow each other to live, but they could not go near each other. If it were not for Ari Grayson becoming bound through silver with Emma Cullen, this agreement would never have happened.
After the fight, the lycans were each given the chance to leave the pack and go their seperate ways but each opted to stay in La Push near their remaining back. They are trying to settle down and live regular lives, but there are problems all around them threatening to tear them apart. After living on the run for so long, how do you settle down and pretend nothing happened?
