THIS LIST WILL CONTINUE TO GROW AND CHANGE AS WE COME TO ISSUES THAT NEED RESOLUTIONS. (( This list was created and compiled by Asha. Ask her permission of you want to use it if we find it elsewhere without permission you'll be banned from the site for stealing ))
1. The Lycans are both born and bitten.
2. If bitten, you can only phase at the full moon; this means the 7 nights leading up to and including the full moon.
3. Bitten wolves are not as powerful as born.
4. The purer your blood, the more powerful you are. A Lycan and a Human's spawn is weaker than two lycans spawn, but stronger than a bitten were.
5. Pregnancy is almost impossible once a female is turned. 5a. A pregnant lycan, after the first trimester, must resist the call of the moon or lose her child. It is why purebloods are so rare.
6. The Lycans obey pack law over human.
7. When a Lycan shifts at any time during the full moon, it drains them.
8. Shifting leaves them naked. However, they are at ease with their nudity and walk around nude all the time.
9. Lycans have high body temperatures.
10. Silver is damaging to them.
11. Silver has mystical properties to it. For a living being to give a Lycan silver, whether as a gift or in violence (silver bullet or knife for example), it creates a bond between the two people. 11a. However, the binded wolf has to keep the person they are bound to- their master- safe from harm and is in tune to their emotions, which better helps them with the protection. 11b. This protection can only be broken in three ways: the master's death, another person giving them silver and establishing a new bond, or by performing a ritual that is unknown to many. It is a blood oath that mixed the lycan and master's blood with the silver that is melted down and hardened, then buried in the woods. 11c. Vampires cannot bind to wolves. Other wolves can, humans can, shapeshifters can. The master has to have a pulse in order to create a bind. 11d. When two wolves mate, there is a mating ceremony in which they bind themselves to each other. However, while binding is always part of mating, mating is absolutely not always part of binding.
12. They age slower than humans and tend to live longer. At age 20, a lycan slows the aging process. For every two years that pass, one gets added to their physical appearance. For example, the pureblood Alpha who looks to be late twenties is actually 40 years old.
13. Alpha position is determined by fighting in wolf form. The winner is the alpha. Should the alpha be challenged and win, the alpha has the right to exile the loser from the pack. 13a. Due to the low amounts of lycans, the fights do not consist of killing or banishment. The loser is merely dropped to the bottom of pack hierarchy and must work their way back to their original position.
14. Lycans mate for life. However, when one dies they can find a new mate. If their mate is exiled, they are considered free of the bond and may look for another mate.
Though a human has been bitten or scratched, there is still a fifty percent chance that they will not become a lycan. They will not now until the full moon whether or not they shall turn. The week of the full moon the human will get antsy and that skin crawling feelin happens. They are generally restless and feel the need to be outside. And the night of the full moon, they respond much like a born lycan would. They feel like they are drawn to the outdoors and their senses go on overdrive and they shift.
1. Bitten lycans cannot shift at will, only during the week of the full moon. Same goes for those who are born.
2. It is easier to shift in groups rather than alone and takes less energy. Nobody know why, but that is how it is.
3. The week of the full moon, the bitten lycan begins to act unnatural and it is an effort to maintain human behavior and form.
4. No lycanthropes eat human flesh unless they are mentally derranged, in which case they probably do it as a human too. Other lycanthropes will handle the problem immediately, terminating the rogue.
5. Bitten lycans are not as strong as those born and will have to struggle to fight them if confronted one-on-one.
6. Bitten lycans have a life expectancy of 100 years.
7. All lycans become wolves, not half-human hybrids. That's a Hollywood myth.
8. There is no cure for lycanthropy. Blessing or curse, it is yours until you die.
9. Lycans are generally territorial of their land, but have set this aside for the survival of their kind, welcoming other packs to form stronger alliances.
10. The worst form of punishment to a lycan is to be exiled. It cuts them off from their friends, their family, and their safety in numbers.
11. Exiled lycans may be harboured by other packs but will find it hard to truly join one.
12. Rogue lycans, or "Lone wolves" are not tolerated at all and are killed on site. They are too dangerous to the community.
When a lycan is bound, it is his or her duty to protect its charge at all costs. This means that the lycan must look out for the charge's best interests, no matter what they mean for the lycan.
This means that when a lycan is bound, the lycan cannot reveal the item or location of the silver that created this bind, because it would allow someone to break the bind and therefore endanger the lycans charge.
How to break a bind through ritual 1. Start a really hot fire. 2. Use an iron pan that will not melt over said fire. 3. Cut arm/hand/whatever and bleed into pan. 4. Other person repeats step 3. 5. Toss silver object into pan. 6. Wait. 7. Wait some more. 8. Still waiting. 9. Silver is melted and mixed with the blood. 10. Let silver solidify. 11. Get rid of object and never look upon it again. Congratulations, you have officially completed an unbinding ritual
How to break a bind by re-binding 1. Find person with a pulse. Human/lycan/shifter/halfbreed/etc. 2. Get them to give you silver. Congratulations, you have officially broken a bind by transferring it to another person! You no longer have to complete an unbind ritual with the original person to be free.
Guardian bind vs mating bind Okay so this was brought up already and I thought I should explain it.
A normal bind is one-sided, meaning one person gives the silver and is therefore the 'charge'. The person who receives the silver is now the guardian. The guardian has to, well, guard, the charge and keep them from any harm or danger and go as far as sacrificing their own life for the charge. This was used as a form of punishment within the lycan community when someone committed wrongs against another. They had to bind to the person to pay penance for their wrongdoings.
In a mating bind, both parties exchange silver, meaning they are both bound to the other. It means that they will look out for one another so long as the bind exists and is more of a ceremonial thing, though there is a compulsion to protect the other, it is nowhere near as strong as a one-sided bind. The silver exchanged was usually a piece of jewelry or an ornamental object, anything from rings to necklaces to a knife or even silver bullets would work in a bind. Since silver burns, the lycans would not usually wear said object, thus ensuring it was not accidently destroyed or lost.
