[??] James, [??] Hull and [??] Satin have been best friends since they were in nappies; hardly surprising considering that their parents were distant relatives of each other. The trio grew up with each other, learning to fly on broomsticks at the same time, spending hours playing in the nearby park and going on outings as often as possible. It was hardly surprising when the trio stuck together when they started at Evnastea.

But in recent months [??] Rider, another fifth year at the school has been spending more and more time with the boys. It started of as ‘accidental’ meetings in the corridor and having ‘no where else’ to sit in class other than next to either of them, but before long it seemed like she was there every time [??] moved; joining them at lunch, hanging out with them in the grounds and even doing homework with them in the library. It wouldn’t be so bad if she didn’t try deliberately to keep [??] out of the way; she would ignore her completely and act as though she didn’t exist, but despite their friend’s complaints the boys didn’t seem to notice that anything was up.

[??] was beginning to feel more and more alone and isolated: it looked as though [??] was trying to take over her life, but [??] and [??] seemed completely oblivious to it. Could they really forget her friendship so easily? Or was there something more sinister behind it, with [??] as the cause.
