A gentle hand rapped loudly on the door. Slowly, the door was eased open by a pale hand. What had been a five foot woman, with pale, glittering skin, cool-colored wings protruding from her back, was then a small faerie. She thought that it would do better to fly about, then to waste her time walking, if the situation of finding a creature to talk to became the problem.
Her wings gave off a type of buzzing sound as she hovered in the air for a few seconds, and called out. "Hello?" her voice was like that of twinkling bells, even though distress was evident in her voice. I hope she didn't forget I would be here. I even sent a messenger... And that was a fortnight past. Surely she could not have forgotten!
Annwn slowly let herself sink to the ground, her wings fluttering less every time the need arose. She really didn't want to crash into the floor! As she reached the ground, something quite like a butler hurried past her, his foot coming dangerously close. "Eep!" came her shriek of terror as she raised herself into the air again, perching herself atop the man's shoulder. Annwn tugged on his ear, and then hovered in front of his face.
"If I may ask, where would Princess Holly be? I have an urgent business with her!" her voice sounded business-like, and her arms were crossed as she gazed at him.

Holly just rushed through the door, brushing the bangs out of her head. "Oh my! I'm very sorry, I was at the Chapel, Queen Annwn." Holly bowed, blushing furiously as she pulled the hood of her cloak away from her head. She tore the cloak off, embarrassed she was in breeches and a tunic instead of a more stately attire of clothing. She bit her lip, afraid that the Queen of Tredel would be mad at her for being. She began to curtsy, then remembered she wasn't wearing her dress, before she bowed, hurridly straitening up.

Annwn turned as the doors were flung open.
I'd have had a better welcome at Vais du North. Let's just hope I will...
She hid her obvious displeasure by quickly announcing her reason for being there. "As I told you before, I am here to discuss a potential peace treaty. But apparently another time would be better. Or perhaps you are indeed serious, and would approve of a more private place?" the faerie was now, sitting on Princess Holly's shoulder, an obvious look of disgust etched onto her face as her small hands tested the fabric.
Maybe she would also decide to dress decently. I am in no mood for antics! I come to discuss important things, and she chooses to be late, and dress herself inappropriately! Maybe the Lumière is not the right kingdom to form an alliance with...
Annwn lifted herself into the air with a flutter of her wings, moving herself away from the poorly dressed princess. "I'm guessing you would still like to discuss an alliance?" her tone of voice was hinting that the question was more of a statement.

"A more private place would be better, yes." Holly said, feeling more like going and hitting her head on the wall of her room. Or just dying on the floor of the room. "Would the sitting room be fine with you, Queen Annwn?" Holly asked, trying to use her best polite voice. But on the inside, she felt like a cold, miserable child that had just been told off by one of her elders. She hid her expression with a blank look, knowing her Mother or her Brother would be certain to talk to hr of this later on. She just knew it.

"Yes, it shall do just fine," she answered, giving away a sigh at teh end of her sentence. She fluttered about for a few minutes, until she found the sitting room, and sat. To be seated comfortably, her height skyrocketed to an amazing five foot six inches. Well, it was amazing for a faerie.
She carefully adjusted her delicate wings, smoothing them out and correcting the way they were laying against the loveseat she had taken the liberty of seating herself upon, making sure no part of them would be bent or broken.
This better be worth my time and effort... Faeries and pixies have no business in wars, and Lumière is very lucky we are even considering this, seeing as how we shall undoubtedly be targeted. I can only hope this is the best decision.
Annwn began speaking, even though Princess Holly was obviously not in the room yet. "I believe that the treaty I briefly spoke to you about in my letter will protect your country to some extent. Access into a section of our forest might be permitted, if such a dire need arises. Our magical abilities will be lended to you, if any faeries so wish to do such. Do remember we are peaceful creatures. Pixies may help more than people of my kin..." she started well enough, but at the end, her voice was a murmur.

Holly, after a few moments where the Queen had been alone, came in a high-collared pink dress, the skirt settling around her feet in a wave as she sat down in a large, cushioned chair, her arm on the side and hand hanging over the arm of the chair. "A bit of bread and tea, please." She said to the servant who had followed her in, before dismissing the girl. "Now, about the alliance you were talking about..." She said, completely uncomfortable in this setting, ven though she appeared conpletely relaxed.

Annwn looked even more displeased as Holly's last statement led her to believe the child was also hard of hearing. "I believe that Tredel could hold atleast a thousand creatures. No giants, of course. I have spoken to many citizens... They refuse to have any dwarves sporting axes, and sort of dark creatures. They just won't stand for it. Frankly, I must agree. Dwarves are angered easily, and dark creatures shouldn't even reside within such a... 'good' kingdoms walls," she explained, fiddling with part of the sleeve of her dress.
I should be talking to the queen! Or atleast a more attentive person in a place of power...
"I did explain to you that I would be visiting Vais du North, right? After the treaty is discussed, I am going to see if they will not agree to one as well. Of course, I cannot promise that I will return completely unscathed, or even return at all," she said, peering around the room. She never did much like living in these sort of palaces. Honestly, she lived just like the other faeries. Okay, well, she lived in the biggest tree, with the best things, and held the entire kingdom in her hand.
That was close, right?
Annwn gazed at the Princess's new clothing choice. "And could you please remind me why I am not speaking to an older person, if not the queen?" she asked, her voice stressing kindness, though the words were obviously... Harsh.

Holly narrowed her eyes, her voice now cold as she continued. "You are not because my mother has been incapable of handling the kingdom since my Father died, using my brother as a crutch instead of remarrying. You are not talking to my brother because he would immediately dismiss you from the room at the mere word treaty or alliance, as he believes that this war is the only way to solve this. You should maybe have tried talking to a lower noble, since as soon as the Dark Kigndom attacks, I will probably be sent off to marry someone I have never seen in my life, and not even be able to get near this kingdom, or Vais Du North." Holly said nothing more, but her voice had been colder, with a sharp, acute edge to it. She was hurt, seeing the truth set plainly before her in her own words, but she hid that beneath coldness that could never be warmed.

"My apologies for bringing up bad memories and topics," she replied, her eyes roaming around the room again.
Annwn felt bad about her attitude regarding the young lady now, her facial expression reflecting her guilty feelings. "Accept my offer of apology. And also accept (or atleast keep in mind) my offer: you may come live in the forest if such a situations arises as you are forced to commit yourself to a creature that you do not like, or atleast haven't met. I'm quite sure any faerie or pixie would be glad to help you," sympathy and compassion crept into her voice, lacing it with such feelings as she showed to children.
Poor young girl. I'm sure it isn't quite as bad as she thinks, but nonetheless... I should be considerably nicer.
"Shall we sign the treaty? You should have already read throguh it, seeing as how the letter was written on the back of the treaty..." her voice was gentle, and yet still harshly reminded her that she should have already read it.

"I accept your apolgy. I did not mean to burden you with my troubles, but I am afraid I did." Holly's voice was apologetic, and she nodded quietly as Queen Annwn spoke of coming to the forest. "I would like that, but not yet. Only until the circumstance I spoke of arises, Queen Annwn." Holly was distracted for a few moments before she spoke again, pulling the treaty out of her pocket, and the papar ws amazingly not even wrinkled. "Yes, we shall sign. Do you have a quill on you, Queen Annwn, or wouild you rather have me call a servant to fetch one so we may both sign the treaty?" She asked politely, trying to sound at least hosbitable, instead of rude, or cold, or anything that might offend the Queen of Tredel. That would be the cause of even more troubles, troubles Holly would never wish on her home.

"Call one, if you would. I care no such things on my person," she replied, a smile gracing her facial features.
It's not so bad. Actually quite... nice in this little kingdom. It's a horrid thing for someone to declare war upon it.
"Am I correct when I state that you have never seen a faerie before? What about your people? They seem to look at me strangely. Especially that butler of yours," she said with a chuckle.

Holly nodded again, before picking up a small silver bell ang ringing it gently. A servant walked into the room, her head bowed. "Yes, Ma'am?" She asked Holly, a tone of nervousness in her voice. "Two quills, if you please." Holly said, and the servant nodded and bowed out of the sitting room, fidgeting slightly.
"Yes, I've nevr seen a Faerie before. I've seen pictures before, and I've heard some visited my Mother before I was born, but I've never actually met one." Holly admitted, nodding and smiling a bit sheepishly. "And I doubt the subjects have ever had a Faerie grace their streets befor, since there has been no reason too, until now."

"I say that within the past few minutes over half of the kingdom has just now seen a faerie. Though, I hardly doubt any of them would believe it! Most that come into our woods never get to see any of us... To most, we don't even exist," she said, watching the servant enter with two quills.
Annwn reached for one with a peacock feather as she shifted in her seat, gazing at it for a few seconds, and then dipping the end of it into a bottle of ink. Withdrawing the tip of the quill from the ink, she signed her name in cursive onto the parchment. "Your turn, Your Highness," she muttered, handing the servant back the quill.

Holly nodded again, taking a quill and the ink bottle from the servant and signing the treaty with her rather.... unique signature. She smiled grimly to herself, giving the ink bottle and the hawk-feathered quill back to the servant with a nod of her head, and a flourish of hand to dismiss the female. "So, will we be going to Vais Du North now, or will it only be you? Have you changed your mind, or will both still be going?" She asked, actually unsure about this decision.

Annwn considered her questions for a moment. "If you want to come, you should know the danger that will be around you. Put your cloak on if you're to accompany me. I don't want you seen," she answered, standing, and making her way back to teh entrance.
I dread to think of what may happen if they were to findout who she was. Blame would fall upon me and my subjects...
"I suppose I shall stay this tall. She might n ot be able to see me if I were only a few inches big..." she murmurred to herself, fiddling with her wings. This was going to be a complicated situation, and she wasn't quite sure it wa sthe best thing to do. But the least she could do is attempt to prevent what might be... A bloody massacre of nations. Well, that's how she thought of it, anyway.

"I will come." Holly said, nodding. "But would you mind if I changed into my other attire of cloths, so I don't appear like myself?" She asked this hesitantly, biting her lip and glancing around with nervous eyes. She was not sure what Vais Du North would be like, and it felt like her throat was clogged up as she thought of being in the midst of the enemy. She knew she'd be taking a great risk, but she didn't care. She had to do whatever to stop Vais Du North from ripping the two kingdoms apart, and leaving nothing left.

Annwn was now smoothing one of her wings down, her voice clearly showing that her mind was not aware of her answer. "Oh, yes, sure. Do as you please."
She winced as she bent part of her wing, sending small waves of pain down her spine. Now, she was smoothing out her dress, and making sure her hair was to her liking. Her wings occasionally fluttered, and yet seemed as if they were merely there, and of no real use.
What sort of excuse will I have for bringing a human with me? Questions will surely arise. Now, excuses, excuses...
Her expression was one of a faraway person, like she was immersed in a world of her own. She seemed to be glaring at the tiles of the floor.

Holly returned a few seconds later, in black breeches and a pale white tunic over an ivy-green shirt. Black boots adorned her feet, and she waited for the Queen of Tredel to speak. "I could pretend to be your hand-maid, enchanted to be human size," Holly suggested as if she had read the Queen's mind, wringing her hands in a bout of nervousness. She was a bit worried, but she had to stand tall and strait, and show no weakness.

"Hm? Oh, yes dear, that's a good excuse! But the wings, the wings would be a problem... We would have to think of an excuse for the lack of wings. Even I can't get rid of them, (Not that I would want to!)" she replied, opening the doors of the palace.
The sunlight fell upon her pale skin, her head hanging low to avoid the dreadful glare of the star shining upon her. Her skin sparkled, drawing the attention of many as they passed by her in the courtyard. She made her way out onto the streets of Lumière, her wings making a slight buzzing sound as they swayed lightly in the wind.
And off to the darkness we go! To all that is evil, the land of darkness...
"Are you still there, Your Highness?" she asked, not slowing or turning around.

"Yes, Queen Annwn. How will we get there?" Holly asked, amazed that the Queen of Tredel had called her 'Your Highness.' She felt sick as she thought of flying, but none of her emotions showed as she pulled up the hood of her gray of her long grey cloak with her hand. She wondered what to do when they got there, and didn't know how the rules would react when theyt found out the Queen of Tredel had come to discuss a peace treaty.
