As the title says.

I was an original Pirate in the days when a good bevvy was as much a part of the team as playing the game was.

Anyone out there from those days?
I think the team have moved on a bit and are maybe a wee bit more professional than we were but what a laugh we had.

I plan on going on Sunday to watch the game (instead of going to British Superbikes @ Knockhill due to the weather forecast)

We always love to hear from former players and it would be great to see you along to a game, unfortunately Sunday's game has been cancelled as the Falcons pulled out on us. Next one is Saturday 14 July so hopefully see you then!

Went to game v Doncaster. Good game and looking forward to next weeks Saturday night game if I can get a pass from the wife.

Thought I might bump into some former players but the only person I recognised was Bill Campbell, The Stats Guy. Bill have you been doing that job all this time?

Need to try and entice some former players back as spectators. Working on McD (Davy Macdonald #53) but lost touch with everyone else.

Come on guys, you must be out there!

Glad you came along and enjoyed!

Billl went on to be GM and then enjoyed a hiatus from the team for a while and then came back and has been the stats maestro ever since!

Hopey, did you not bump into Soggy? He was there on Sunday, along with some of his West Coast Trojans teammates. Yes, he's still playing!! Now on the D-Line. ohmy.gif

Last year Derek Ross, Shoogs, Big John McArthur, Deke McCallum, "Fred" Shaw and Smit were all along at different times. Hopefully be some more this week. Jim Michie keeps threatening to turn up. I'll put something up on Facebook to see if we can tempt a few more along. The Saturday night thing might appeal.

Never saw him Bill but if he is still playing he will look about 90 by now!
Thought about making a comeback myself - As a kicker or something but then I realised I am 47 years of age (albeit I have never grown up).

I don`t do the Facebook thingy but if you can get some of them along I will see them there, if I don`t have to work.

I actually thought Big Smit was still playing but I assume he has retired now.

Hope to see you Saturday

He moved to the Trojans a few years back and played a couple of seasons but he ended up with his leg in a cast from hip to ankle after a special teams incident adn that was the end of his playing time.

Cheers Hopey, with the win on Saturday we equalled the Pirates record for back to back conference championships, with 4 from 2009-2012. The previous record was set in 01-04 when we went to 2 Britbowls and lost both tothe London O's. Here's hoping for a different outcome this year!
